I have a problem /vr/.
I have a friend in the hospital and the only source of entertainment I have for him it's a PSP 2001 that only runs a game boy advance emulator and PICO drive.
So this it's it's both a tiny veiled recommendation thread for those two consoles and a beg for help.
>>4094319
Tron 2.0
Mario & Luigi: Super Star Saga
Doom I/II
Warioware: MegaMicroGame$
F-Zero: GP Legend
These are some of my favorites.
>>4094351
Doom I/II in sega cd?
>>4094319
Pico is the genesis right?
Get him some RPGs that'll last him, don't forget the psp can also play converted ps1 isos, so don't miss out on that.
Anyone know the source for these images? are there more for other systems? they're great; thank you to whoever made them.
Also, does anyone know games similar to Aconcagua,
2/2
I dunno. I just know that these type of images pop up here and on /v/ & /vg/ from time to time.
>>4093951
>>4093961
What the fuck? Whoever's uploading these to imgur or some other ghetto website please stop.
Can someone just tell me if someone already turned the boss room welcome mats in A Link to the Past into real welcome mats, and if so where can I buy one?
>>4093326
No but you could make a fortune with it. Well granted that you research and resolve any possible copyright infringement
>>4093339
People constantly rip off Nintendo for merch every day using blatantly more recognisable imagery. I don't think something as ridiculously obscure as this would even get caught out by them.
>>4093326
That's a good idea, thanks.
Be sure to order a bunch, you will see them on sale soon.
Is there a /vr/ game that is much more popular in your country than anywhere else (discarding games made by your countrymen)?
In Brazil it is definitely Top Gear games. I believe that almost every SNES / Mega Driver owner here had a copy (pirate or not).
Tommy Tallarico said that Brazil is the only country where people ask him to play Top Gear tracks. Almost every Top Gear video in YouTube is full of comments in Portuguese.
Couldn't believe when I saw the list of most sold games in SNES, and Top Gear was not even top 50. I'm sure that here it would be top 10. Unfortunately we have no official stats because, you know, most people just bought pirate copies.

Alex Kidd was kinda big in my country, but that probably applies to most places where the MS was a thing. Then going into nonretro territory, the ngage was also a relatively great success for some bizarre reason.
I always preferred F1 Roc.
What is /vr/ opinions on Fire Emblem?
>>4092564
Poor mans Advance Wars
>>4092564
Kind of boring

I stumbled upon Genealogy of the Holy War in a random SNES RPG website. I had to switch between two translation patches to play it: one for the dialogue, another for the menus and items. It is still my favourite SNES game. The characters, story and gameplay, and the way combat and narration intertwined, hit me deeply as plain great. I was 13 or 14 I think.
I tried Thracia after but there were no translation patches for it and I would not play it if I couldn't understand every bit of the dialogue. Way later, when the GBA FEs came out, I completed them all. I did miss the huge maps withs loads of secrets and possible strategies and whatnot, and a lot of the things I loved had been reworked, but they had added some good stuff (playable black mages for example). I couldn't stomach the DS remake.
And that's my opinion on the series I guess. Seisen no Keifu - bloody great.
Should I cop this ?? I really want to get into RGB it comes with cables as well
>>4092450
Too expensive for a 14'' holmes. That guy is LOCO
>>4092457
Depends on the area. If it's some town where good CRTs are fucking unicorns than 175$ is better than nothing.
What's best for your skills? What helps develop most consistency?
>playing 1 hour a day for 10 yeras
>playing 10 hours a day for 1 year
Playing for several years is better, but 1 hour is a bit too low, 2-3 sounds like the perfect time. Grinding 10 hours a day will make you hate the game imo
Playing the game for 10 years has one advantage and one flaw.
Advantage: you'll become the #1 player in the world.
Flaw: everyone else stopped playing the game.
>>4092286
>Advantage: you'll become the #1 player in the world.
That's not even guaranteed.

The same basic team worked on all three NES titles, with a few people added or removed. Only two of the devs stayed in gaming, and as such we have the most info on them. Artist Kochi Ogawa, and composer Kinuyo Yamashita. Ogawa ended up working for Square and was a planner for Parasite Eve. Yamashita lives in the states, and has been interviewed, but she does not seem to give any answers. It seems she didn't even interact with the team much, merely composed music for the game. Ogawa has a twitter and he might be more forthcoming with information.

Yeah. The series changed post nes.

It's so hard to find information about Konami in general compared to other development studios.
I'm posting list of names in the hopes that you will find something. Akamatsu seems to be the programmer/writer/director, so he's probably closed to the "creator" of the Castlevania series. Surely, something can be found on him?
Recently, Akira Kitamura's blog has been found, and it would not shock me if such blogs and or social media exists for these people. It's given me hope.

Often, someone sticks around from the original teams and gives interviews. But almost no one stayed from the original CV team. I can only find the two, and both left Konami. There's interviews with Ogawa, but it's in relation to Brave Fencer Mushashi.
Iga stuck around and gave tons of interviews, but he started the series with Rondo of Blood (special thanks), years after these guys left. He doesn't know anything about the first games.
I've never played Diablo 2 before. I'm playing a Necromancer, and I want to make the biggest army of skeletons I can and just overrun my enemies while making corpses explode. What are good skills for this and what should I invest in stat-wise? I've been putting everything into Vitality and Energy and smashing enemies with a sword for a while now, but my low strength is making that less effective.
>>4091886
poison knife necromancer is best necromancer
>>4091886
are you playing ladder? Only put point in vitality, none in energy. Some in str to wear equips you want. skills should be 1pt amp,20pt corpse explosion, 20 skele,20 skele mastery, 1 golem, 20 summon resist,1 revive. Max corpse explosion and summon resist last. Also 1 point in decrepify to kill bosses

I came in to this thread to advise OP but thos kind anon pretty much covered it.
Have fun with the build OP, it was one of my favorites. Diablo and Baal may give you some trouble
ITT: crossovers you would have loved back in the day.
Metroid and Castlevania.
(And no, I don't meant SOTN).
Make Samus ally with the Belmonts while trying to take over vampirized Metroids controlled by Drac.
They could go nuts mixing the space horror elements from Metroid and the supernatural/mythological Castlevania lore.
Unrelated, but in Project X Zone (3DS game), when talking about Arthur, some characters show a lot of respect for him:
- Dante (DMC) says Arthur is his precursor in Demon Hunting, and he could learn a lot from Arthur
- Demitri and Morrigan say that while Arthur looks like a dumb old man, his power is genuine (Astaroth/Nebiroth were a big deal in Makai)
- Even the lowest of the demons in Makai know who Arthur is

That's pretty cool, I need to play the PXZ games, I played the demo of the first one and I liked it.
The s video port on my trinitron is not working. If i press the cable into the port very hard then i get a clear picture but it does not stay. Is there anyway to repair this or is the tv screwed.
>>4091673
The obvious awnser would be have you tried it on another TV or with another cable?
I love how it looks like a dismayed 4-eyed alien.
>>4091681
I tried different cables and consoles so it must be the input port
>knocks you out of super mode with a casual spindash
Why was this allowed?
'cause sonic a bitch
Because plot armor.
More importantly, how come Knuckles didn't just use the emeralds to go Super as soon as he scooped them up instead of just putting them back into the special zone?
>>4091521
He's supposed to keep the balance of the emeralds, they belong in the hidden palace
What I don't get is why doesn't he use some of the master emerald's infinite energy to become super a few times. He's the one guy who's allowed to do that
gorilla's do not smoke!
>>4091143
Wrong.
Chimps will smoke if you give them lit cigarettes so I'd imagine gorillas might too (and so did Winsor McCay).
Why weren't there more 18+ handheld games?
It seems that having H games on handhelds makes infinitely more sense than consoles, because they're portable and easily hidden.
That said, I am trying to find what's out there.
Pic related is Super Real Mahjong on Neo Geo Pocket Color. There's an 18+ rating seal on it, but I haven't picked it up yet myself because it's pretty expensive. No idea if there's any actual nudity in it. If anyone could expand on this, I would be very grateful.
Aside from that, I know there's some homebrew games on the GB, and a couple of ports on the GBA. Any and all information about games, unlicensed, homebrew, abandoned betas or whatever, would be greatly appreciated.
I will try and post with that information I have as well.
>>4090583
Because you had skin mags back then.
>>4090583
Because the wave of degeneracy that smartphones brought hadn't happen yet.

>It seems that having H games on handhelds makes infinitely more sense than consoles, because they're portable and easily hidden.
Why would I, an adult, need to take my porn games with me places or hide them from people?
Let's talk about everyone's favorite time wasters.
Our opening topic: how do you get Chip's Challenge to work on Windows 10? I need something to do at work that's not work
