Even with all the announcements we still get a new story. Looks like Razaketh ate shit fast.
>>53801384
And Liliana's third demon is dead in the matter of a short story. Good Work Wizards
>>53801384
I remember last threads people kept hyping up Razaketh.
woooosh, and he died so quickly.
This has to be extra buildup for the Gatewatch/Jacetice League to defeat another big bad using the power of FRIENDSHIP
To make the ensuing devastation Bolas inflicts seem even more shocking.
Also if that Raven Man isn't Urza, I'll eat Vriska's pirate hat

Question time
why are elves the best at everything?
old thread >53724831
>>53779753
this game is apparently as dead as the elves in the AOS setting.
>>53780056
Huh-uh.
So, you're going to repeat this every time to maintain your self-denial?
>>53780270
How active are the AoS generals usually? Three posts in 40min seems kinda dead, but it could just be the hour.

Nth for Guard need new models.
someone be a doll and drop index epubs if u got em? ill post one when i get paid wednesday if someone gets imperium 1 up
>>53860789
I don't really need more tallarn models, but dammit having regimental upgrade kits would be great.
I'm trying to homebrew a space marine chapter based on the Haida native American tribe, or just natives in general, because they're a cool people to draw some inspiration on and I figured /tg/ could help me out. So far I've got
>raven guard successors
>sneaky beakies, use a lot of beakie helmets, ambush tactics and jump packs
>prefer close combat when possible, preferably with power tomahawks
>recruit from a feral world with relatively normal climates but a lot of large, open plains and forests, with rocky coasts and massive seas. The planet surface is roughly 80% water
>due to their large amount of forests and plains, the marines tend to employ the same ambush tactics they had before they were recruited - hiding in trees to leap down on an enemy, stalking through tall grass to jump foes, etc
>often use war paint on their helmets
>each chapter master carves a new totemic face and adds it to the chapter's great totem, the symbol of their loyalty to the imperium and dedication to their ancestors and planet
I'm kinda stuck on chapter lore and beliefs, etc., as well as a symbol and name. Pic related may work but I'm considering making the raven two-headed to tie them in closer with the Imperium.
>>53858364
>I'm considering making the raven two-headed to tie them in closer with the Imperium
You've got a pretty kickass geneseed mutation right there.
>>53858396
I was talking about the chapter symbol.
>>53858364
The Haida were basically native american vikings. May I suggest you make them fleet based, and in addition to ambush, they also practice HALO and even orbital drops.
Rather than power tomohawks, tomohawks should be their replacement for combat knives.
The Haida also had specialized naval weapons for destroying other peoples canoes. So again, fleet based, make them very effective naval combatants/borders.
Obviously clan is important to them, similar to other chapters like Salamanders, Wolves, Khans etc.
Note that the flag of Haida already has a two headed raven
>Haida society is divided into two moieties, Eagle and Raven. For a people living in the borderlands, yet also in the center, this division makes perfect sense. Eagle represents the center, regular, human society, the right-hand path. Raven represents the liminal, non-human society, the left-hand path. It is with Eagle that food is gathered, judgements are passed down, marriages happen. Raven is the realm of the myth in it’s constantly changing form, that step away from the human world that must happen for art and story to exist.
>It is because they are a people at the edge of the world that the Haida hold Raven in such high respect. They understand the need for that entry to the liminal spaces. Gods and humans alike are divided into Eagle and Raven sides; “it is part of the intrinsic structure of the world.”
Thus you can consider the Chapter believes themselves to be Braves who have passed into the spirit realm. The great Imperial Eagle represents humanity and the material. The Raven the Immaterial, the Liminal. The Raven can go anywhere and surpass any boundary - this represents the Chapter members journeying through the warp to fight the enemies of men. They are no longer human, no longer mortals - by becoming space marines they have passed already into a spiritual realm, each of them an undying brave who lives forever through their geneseed.
I'm thinking about picking up a copy of the rulebook for a friend who is very much into mech's and mecha anime. What are your general thoughts on the system /tg/ and do you have any cool stories about it?
>>53858132
its good
>>53858132
It's really solid. The rules take some getting used to (anything mecha related is bound to be more complex), but you can do a lot with this ruleset.
>>53858132
Some people love it. It's way too granular and crunchy for my tastes, but that's just me.

Thoughts on pic related for a 500pt Wych Cult starter?
Does anyone know if the citadel skirmish case can hold a land raider and if so how much space does it take?
Who's the punching bag in your group?
After nuking our campaign twice, the second time over a hissy fit and killing everyone and the DM refusing to kick him everyone is going to give him a hard time.
At this point just waiting for a friend to set up his game to leave behind the group.
>>53857505
OOC? Our DM, takes shit from two guys in our party who will scream at anything that doesn't go perfectly their way until he retcons it.
As an in-character punching bag? Myself, I typically play a tanky character in any setting we do, or at least our main line fighter in a more lethal game.
>>53857505
The guy who's always a fucking hour late.
We had this one running gag with an older character of his where he'd always get arrested for something he didn't even start. I was GMing, and I didn't even mean to. It was just that whenever the guards showed up, it seems like he'd been the last one to do something.
Why are humanlike species more accepted in fantasy than in science fiction?
>>53856511
Well, part of it is that most fantasy settings take place on a single world, and it's easier to accept convergent evolution within a biosphere than between two radically different ones. Another big part is that fantasy often has creation myths that are factually true, and if there's a creator then it's reasonable that said creator really likes a certain body plan for his sapient creations and reuses it a lot.
>>53856511
Because Fantasy needs lots of interesting creatures to butcher at swordpoint.
>>53856511
I'd say they are accepted in both to a degree that fretting about it makes no sense.
As to why fantasy is more permissive:
>Intelligent design is more often a thing or at least implied
>Ties back to mythologic entities that where likewise human-like, be it because they were intended to humanize nature or because they where based on actual people.
>Magic as a plot element facilitates conveniently human forms.
>There is no underlying ambition to represent the many possible forms of extraterrestrial life.
>Less ambition towards "realism" and scientific grounding.
>Almost never vehicle for a current scientific theory or development.
>omnipresent technology compensates easier for creatures that can not fulfill the necessities of direct convenient interaction with other creatures and objects.
>Sci fi creatures compared to fantasy creatures are more often a big plot device as opposed to a person among others.
Dearest /tg/,
hear me out for just a moment as there's a moral/ethical dilemma currently dividing the party I'm currently dming that I would like an outsiders/meta opinion on:
>Low-level party manages to prevent a local gang of Ogres from utterly raiding and raping a town.
>The town has no money, but the local lord has 1 very special item he gave the party as a reward: a VHS tape.
>Anachronistic Items can potentially be worth THOUSANDS of gold pieces and the party is thrilled to receive the item.
>It takes 2 in-game weeks, but eventually the party finds an appraiser in a large city who's actually capable of playing the VHS tape and seeing if it's worth a lot or A LOT.
>The VHS tape is the video diary of a child: recording their dreams, aspirations, & hopes, for their future/grown up self.
>Appraiser says the content of the tape is itself worthless, but he can record over the tape, sell it as new, and split the generous profits.
Cue MILDLY massive fucking debate:
-One player thinks while it isn't "100% evil, it is 100% a cock move" to just sell someone's -let alone a child's- diary and private property. Thinks they should at least TRY to find the owners time-period relative before pawning it off.
-One player is offended they're even having this discussion and just wants the money. Kid could be from 200 years or 1,000 years in the future- it might even be from the PAST, they don't know; it's high-effort, low reward.
-Third player is on the fence. Just wants to adventure, etc.
You've been caught up.
Thoughts?
>>53848019
Your game sounds stupid and boring. If you want to take a philosophy class, do that and leave my hobby alone.
>>53848019
Sell it for profit. Its worthless to the extreme relatives and the childs dreams can live on with me.

>Deathfire
>Ruinstorm
Super shitty names BL comes up with these days.
By this point I don't even care about the Siege of Terra. BL will just turn it into a convoluted mess of derp like they did with the rest of the Heresy. The series sunk beyond salvage about two years ago.
>>53842403
>Siege of Terra
Literally never.
We'd rather see first how Big E effortlessly destroys Horus and then gets somehow his ass kicked by Abadoobadoom for whatever reason.
>>53842403
>Will we see finally the siege of Terra in 2018?- 2 posts shown.
I hope not. I hope I never have autists constantly reminding me of how awful the Siege of Terra could be after BL gets their hands on it.

Jesus fucking Christ, another person potentially stuck in Arkansas.
As to your question, it depends entirely on your modeller, your printer, and your medium. I've seen some really neat, really detailed small-scale stuff. Look up some videos on YouTube from 3d printing channels to see.
The real roadblock, as said, is going to be either not having a good modeller, or not being able to shell out for a good printer or medium.
Death guard can't take terminators?
I find the new death guard army list very lacking, but the lack of dg termis seems ridiculous, especially as there is even a fw conversion kit for them.
>>53853323
DOn't worry anon
jsut wait for the death guard codex to be released in three weeks
then yo'ull have the super speciel death guard blightplaguesrs terminators
And they'll be your only terminators and you can't take any others.
And the codex will be back up to €40
Because fuck you €20 will only get you poorly typed half rules.
>>53853488
Yeah basically this. Look at the Thousand Sons release, they got the basic troop, termies, cannon fodder, heroes and primarch and now also cannot use the basic CSM versions of those.

>>53854342
Can't you just ally them? Or am I missing something here?
Why do y'all fucking use orcs as fucking nomad raiders or noble savages? In Tolkien orcs were all smaller than human and lived in fortresses/cities, and were masters of industry, basically like D&D hobgoblins. That seems way cooler than a bunch of green skinned hide wearing africans, and also much less racist.
>>53852877
Because, as you pointed out, hobgoblins are filling that niche.
