According to the mos maiorium I, the consul Lucius Manilius Cotta begin this meeting of the Senate. I will now begin my verba fecit now I know a good amount of you have only recently joined the senate so I will merely list a few of the rules first of all we are supposed to begin at dawn, we didn't this time but a cogere has been issued so if you don't show up I can legally have your house torn down. Now as soon as this required opening speech is over I will announce what we are debating today, ordinarily we'd then speak in order of seniority but someone has destroyed all records of seniority so were just gonna ignore that rule. You can discuss the issue a little, a lot or completely change the subject and this secession ends at nightfall theoretically.
Now then to business, today topic is the children, they are not properly reflecting the steely values of our ancestors! What is corrupting them so? and what can we do about it?
>The door to the senate is kicked in. Late 1990's music blares as a large green figure stretches and yawns, then looks over the room in shock.
>"What are you doing in MY swamp!?"

It's been confirmed, 40k and AoS exist together, just on different planes. The only thing linking them together is chaos.
As a fan of both settings, I like this little juicy nugget.
>>53851827
always been the case but age of shitters will tell us aos introduced this new ground breaking bit of fluff
>>53851886
I miss when we'd see warriors of chaos with plasma guns they got from the warp
>>53851886
Age of shitter here. I do know there used to be a bit of 40k fluff that the warhammer fantasy world was a planet cut off by warp storms, but that was the only link I knew of. With all the warp happenings during end times and the destruction of the old world, it is entirely possible that the mortal realms are just another galaxy far far away.
How do we make them interesting again?
>muh endless numbers
>muh just as planned
>muh yoir stakes don't matter we already won lmao
>muh so much more powerful than anything else in the setting nothing stands a chance
>muh can nothing personal your entire defenses and army with warp bullshit
How do we make chaos remotely interesting again?
>>53850040
Bait thread. Hidden and called the police.
>>53850040
Stay consistent with their supposed weaknesses like the Shadow in the Warp or Necron tech. Expand on duality of each of the Gods and what they represent but also stop using them as fucking characters when they should be background plot devices.
>>53850047
Try to deny that any of the shit mentioned in OP isn't true. Chaos is fucking. Boring. They ruin the setting by being so damn overpowered, it's ridiculous.

What non-WoD splats/settings would work well with a crossover game for a WoD chronicle?

>What non-WoD splats/settings would work well with a crossover game for a WoD chronicle?
For oWoD:
Mage works well with Demon, Changeling, Werewolf and Mummy.
Werewolf works with Changeling and Mage.
Vampire doesn't really work well with anything, both rules-wise (Virtues) and conceptually.
Hunter works well with every supernatural, but can't do rules overlap.
The key part is to understand that you are running a (Splat) game with (Other Splat) elements. You have to pick a focus and approach the game from that perspective.

So due to some incidents I had while moving, it looks like portions of my X-wing collection seem to be gone forever- specifically the models for my Gozanti and my 2 IG-2000's.
Is there any way to get just the models for them? I don't really want to buy a full expansion.I'm still hoping I find them, as their custom paint jobs took forever.
Alright, so I just caught up with Disciples of Harmony last thread - and it has some great mechanics in the back about Alternate Force Traditions - basically if you have a teacher from another sort of discipline you can have different benefits than the default -5 cost on basic force powers which can be cool and unique, but also often have drawbacks related to their flavor, such as additional conflict in certain situations - which can be bought off if you leave the tutelage of that master.
So my immediate thought was that we should homebrew some of these up. Surely /swg/ has some favorite force traditions which could get some love in F&D.
My first thought is on the Jensaraai. I'm thinking discounts on certain upgrades for Manipulate (because if can enhance Mechanics checks for sweet crafting), Enhance and maybe Imbue, and also always treats Armorer as a career spec, but not sure on the Disadvantage, maybe 1 Conflict for working with a Jedi or something?
Is there a good system to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R?
>>53826779
PC
Probably want decent hardware. Maybe a GTX 970
GURPS. Use After the End for the improved radiation rules, High-Tech for the gun porn, and Powers for artifacts and mutant powers. Make liberal use of the rules for equipment degradation. If you're feeling confident, bust out Tactical Shooting for full S.T.A.L.K.E.R. lethality (or tone it down/speed your game up with Gun-Fu).

We live in an agnostic world where people don't give much of a thought to gods or the universe in our everyday happenings. the wooow CRAZY trope is dead with most players going through the motions In my experience. the options are
1. you cant beat them and you party wipe (traditional)
2. you at lest strike a blow (delta green style)
now I lean to the latter because I still think it can be scary. but what you are afraid of are cultists, government over reach, powerful ancient secrets. to me these seem like a human elements, personal horror like VtM. what can we do to make cosmic horror scary again
>>53812152
Real cosmic horror is, well, real. We could be seared to dust by a gamma ray burst in an instant, and we wouldn't even know it was happening. And every single thing every human has ever done for any purpose would be meaningless.
the true horror of the indifferent universe is that it truly is indifferent and that no future exists. But even mindless, live-in-the-moment hedonism isn't any sort of protection for claiming you had a valid life.
We have, essentially, become too comfortable. So comfortable that our inability to imagine our own nonexistence is bleeding into being unable to truly understand that void enough to be afraid of it.
>>53812381
This, pretty much. Do you remember, when you were a kid, when you had that that one epiphany or dream where you managed to actually conceive the concept of infinity, or endlessness? Remember that slight twinge of fear and awe you felt before your perspective snapped back into focus, and the world became solid again? That's what Cosmic Horror is.
>>53812152
Bruh cosmic horror as a concept will always be scary. But that shit doesn't translate well to games without losing some of what makes it "cosmic horror" because good cosmic horror lacks the potential for meaningful conflict. Personally, I don't even think there's an option 2, but that's just because I've always looked at cosmic horror as more of a force of nature than as an antagonistic force that can be affected in any way. The point of cosmic horror is to remind us of our place in the universe--and in my mind that means quickly and definitively crushing any and all hope for a happy ending. Naturally, this means that any good cosmic horror game shouldn't really be about the cosmic "whatever," but rather about each character in the story develops once their previous understanding of reality is shattered, and they're left alone to find their way in a strange and uncaring world.

Warmasters Triumvirate is an attempt at creating yet another 40k AU. The Primarchs have changed, and instead of appointing a single Warmaster upon returning to Terra, the Emperor leaves the Great Crusade in the care of three of his sons. This eventually culminates in a civil war between Loyalists, Chaos Traitors and Separatists...

Usually 1:1. Sometimes I'll do an infinite world, though, and just keep to a certain area. At least if it's fantasy. Sci-fi is another matter.
Though when I was a kid I remember I had a world that was the inside of a Dyson sphere so that I had enough room for all 50 or 60 subraces of elf. (But I still had day/night cycles somehow. And stars and comets. It wasn't well thought out.)
