Talk about fishin

>tiny penis>big walleye edition
This should be fun
>>1016768
Let's face it, anybody who catches big fish is trying to compensate for something.
>>1016773
Eh, might as well catch big fish hen, I guess.
I ran over this tree root with my riding mower and now it looks like shit. Is there a way I can cover this? Or will it grow back to normal in a few days?
>>1016675
cover it with dirt
>>1016675
Dig it out, fill it back in.
Idiot.
>>1016681
That might kill the tree
I think that a comfy family life can be lived on about 6 acres. 1 acre for wheat and another acre for feed corn. 1 acre for a fruit and nut orchard. 1 acre for growing firewood. 1 acre divided into 4 sections for rotational grazing of goats and chickens. 1 acre for a herb and vegetable garden. Any thoughts on my hypothetical setup /out/?
>>1016157
If you think you can raise all the calories you need to sustain a family on 6 acres you are fooling yourself.
>>1016301
nægrœ my vietnamese neighbors have 5 acres that are full of a thousand+ ducks, goats, chiggins, plus they have tons of veggies and probably about half an acre worth of heated greenhouse where they grow the crazy tropical stuff, and they have acreage to spare that's not being used. granted, they have feed delivered to the creatures and gas & heating oil delivered for the house. if you had to be completely self-sustaining 6acres wouldn't do it, you'd burn all the trees in a few years.
Hey /out/,
AZ bro here. The other day I decided to switch on my garmin and get almost lost. Followed a creek for about an hour and I come across this hole. Its about 6'×4'×5' and lined with tarp at the bottom. There's also some excess tarp on the side that I'm guessing went over the top. I don't know a thing about bushcraft and I was wondering what your thoughts were on this? I did find a decent fire pit about 50' from there and what might be considered a road suitable for a quad. First dumb question, is this for a body? Second, is there a less retarded word for hiking off trail? I say bush-wacking.
>is this for a body?
no
>is there a less retarded word for hiking off trail? I say bush-wacking.
that's bush wHacking. or cross country. or off trail is fine.
Thanks in advance guys
>a fucking heat reflector
>made out of wood
do americans unironically do this?
>>1013568
It helps.
>>1013568
Should be have gone to the nearest aluminum tree to gather his resources?
I'd imagine the pile of fairly thick logs would hold up for a couple of hours and thus do their job adequately
Anyone have any experience? They're supposed to be super comfy. It'll be the most expensive bit of gear I've bought. Using it to replace my old knackered Vango for wild camping and multiday hikes.
>>1013440
go to a store, make sure to get the right size, put 30 lbs in it, adjust the straps properly, and wear it around for 20 minutes. then do that again with a similar pack from a different company.
anecdotally, i find ospreys to be very comfy with lighter loads (i own 2), but they begin to feel spongy with heavier loads. i have a gregory baltoro 75 that feels super secure with a heavy load.
>>1013453
What do you call heavy, anon? My current setup weighs between 10 and 12kg.
can confirm, super comfy, light weight, great back adjustment and suspension system.
the outside strechy pocket is fucking fantastic, its great having comparatively large compartment in the "head" of the pack, and the integrated rain covers a nice addition that sits in its own water proof compartment so if you put it away wet it wont soak the inside of your pack
if it is the AG version there are two negatives you need to consider
>the bottles can be hard to reach
>it FUCKING SQUEEKS WITH EVERY STEP AND IT DRIVE YOU AND ANYONE YOU ARE HIKING WITH NUTS!

Some green june beetle grubs (Cotinis nitida) I found in my compost pile yesterday.

It should be fine. The only major pests that hide in mulch are slugs when it is during a rainy season and squash bugs. If you have a squash bug problem, I'd forgo using mulch. For slugs, just wait until the rainy season is over in your area then use mulch.

Both images contain chickweed. Which is delicious, fyi.

Treat tomatillos like tomatoes or peppers. They are in the nightshade family. I've grown them for many years. If you have mulch on the soil, rake it back to allow the soil to dry out faster until the rains pass. You may want to repot it with better draining soil. It is REALLY yellow. lol The soil you are using really holds a lot of water.
FYI, when I use containers as pots, I also drill two rows of drainage holes on the bottom of the sides. One row is as close to the bottom as possible and the second row is about 1/2 an inch above. It really aids in drainage and preventing pooling even with holes underside on the bottom.
>>1012556
>>1012571
Heat over 80F will make them wilt. Yellowing of bottoms leaves is normally overwatering. If they get white splitches on tops of the leaves it will be from too much sun because they are not hardened off properly. Newer leaves should be immune to that. I can see sun damage on those bottom leaves, fyi.
>>1012593
I get that problem constantly now with the captcha when it wants to go to a 3rd page of images of signs or cars or uses the disappearing images.
Hey, does the water come out of those pipes kind of foamy for a little bit then clear up? I always let my garden hoses run for a while, dumping the foamy water out, before using them on my plants. Some hoses are way worse than others. It is almost like there's soap, but it will fizzle out moderately quick, unlike soap.
>>1012618
Tomatillo
>>1012620
Greatly appreciate the advice anon! I have just 3 holes drilled at the very bottom and along the top row, but will add more asap.
The bucket method looks promising but will most likely be moving everything in more shade or planting a bed.

I'm still jelly that you're my neighbor and you have fruit growing. I have 2 jalapenos and they're babies right now.
Is a grigri worth it?
Is this a way to avoid tying knots?
>>1010710
Don't ropes take more wear and tear with knots?
>>1010715
Yes they do. They also lose tensile strength. What is the use of this contraption?
Hey /out/, I'm new to this board but figured you guys might be able to help me with a gear purchase.
What are some of the best ruck packs out on the market right now? Additionally, what are some excellent backpacks/rucksacks for EDC? Right now I'm checking out Maxpedition and Goruck, but I'm not sure if these bags are worth the price tag.
Goruck is kind of a meme.
Ive been really appreciating stuff from Hill People Gear. US made, efficient, and their shoulder harness system is one of the most comfortable Ive used to date.
I have their Tarahumara which is basically a day pack or a compression panel to a larger pack, their 'Original' Kit Bag and their bike frame bag.
The Tarahumara has a surprising capacity for something its size and Ill probably slap a compression sack on the back this year for some clothing layers or a light sleeping bag. I actually cary this bag at work also as a light 24 hour bag.
Check em out.
Other than that Ive been pleased with my Mountainsmith bag for backpacking and they are nice quality plus a nice warranty for their price.
For an EDC type bag though Im looking at Blue Force Gears Jedburgh pack. Kinda pricey but its understated and versatile and the modularity would really suit my needs without looking like Im trying to play Marine.

Hill People Gear
Tactical Tailor
maybe First Spear
Kifaru
Mystery Ranch
Eberlestock is made in Vietnam, but still good
Don't buy some faggy goruck "ruck" that's just an expensive backpack
I've got a TT RR5100 ruck, which is excellent. Also, got a few HPG packs
I'm planning on hiking part of the Appalachian for a week or so in June. Specifically the part in Georgia. Any advice?
Bring condoms and booze
Pussy is everywhere bro
Have fun!!!

Don't forget your solar charger and fully downloaded spotify account.
Nothing like full volume dubstep in the woods :)
>>1010000
shit, i'm probably not even going to bring enough food, let alone my favorite dubstep records and skullcandy portable speaker.
How do /out/ist wank off without getting caught when they're out?
Also general strange out sexual experiences
>>1007963
Humans have been jerkin their dicks in the woods for millennia. It's fucked to see kids these days who have no idea who to rub one out in the woods. Here's how to do it:
>go inno the woods.
>find urself a niiice looking rock, or if you're so lucky a dead animal.
>Squat on down about 7-8 paces away
>take yer pants off (if ur wearing any)
>REMEMBER TO SQUAT.
>take our yer beat meat n get to it.
to clean up i use pine needls n leaves n shit.
>>1007963
>find tree that looks like an ass
>rub against it
>bust that nut
I've fucked many a tree in my day.
Lay in tent with vesuble closed. Jerk to pics of wife on phone or if absolutely needed get on pornhub or /gif/ if i have signal and sufficient battery/data. Beat until close to completion, then lean over and stick dick out of tent door and cum into grass between tent and fly. Alternatively if sufficiently alone just do it standing up and nut wherever. I beat dry by just moving the skin so either method is minimal cleanup
i wanna do /out/ things but i live in cleveland, and am too young to go too far/long on my own
metroparks arent enough to satisfy my hunger for exploration
what do?
>>1015963
fellow ohioan, but in Western Ohio:
literally the only thing worth going to in this state is Wayne national in SW Ohio.
dude, you can reach any point in this state from any other in 3 hours. why does it have to be in Cleveland?
>>1015963
Ask your mommy to come with you
You're two and a half hours from the Allegheny national forest, bruv, which is basically the /out/ backyard of northeast ohio.
What are some interesting /out/ ways to make money? My girlfriend and I do different things and are looking for something new. She used to seal insects in resin and sell them on Etsy as keychains to normies, and we've also foraged and sold mushrooms for a decent price. Most recently we sold carpenter bee traps and we're getting bored of that.
We have 200 acres of untouched forest and a large creek full of gators and cottonmouths. We like to sell stuff to normie middle-aged white women.
>>1013778
Find a rare breed of small shouty dog and start breeding.
Bitches love small shouty dogs.
>>1013804
This.
As a side job, you can sell those exact same dogs to Chinese restaurants.
Rockhound you fuckin lame
Honestly,I have a slight addiction to stabbing every tree I see. What do you do outside that is questionable?
>>1013772
I usually stalk and people watch. I stopped after I watched some autistic person stab all these trees he came across.
oops wrong pic

Topkek
>plan first mountain /out/ trip with gf
>very rarely do we get to spend more than 2 days to go camping and whatnot
>get all of our supplies, super hyped, gonna try back country on blue ridge parkway
>day finally arrives
>drive up mountain in gf's car looking for a spot to begin hiking, fog and rain becoming more of an issue, but who cares, we can rough it for a night
>find perfect spot with mountain views throughout hike, set off on the trail
>rain becoming heavier, winds pick up speed to where I'm unsure my stakes will suffice
>decide to cut our losses and head back
>get to car, begin drive down mountain
>fog has become so thick I cannot see past the hood
>figure it might he safer to camp in the car
>trees begin falling and gf fears that one will fall on the car
>shit
>carefully resume drive down mountain in super dense fog and rain
>approach tunnel...
>fucking 20 foot log blocking the entrace
>by the time it can be seen it was too late
>hit log going about 15mph
>fucks up transmission, many body panels broken
>rip as many body panels off as I can, coast down mountain, end up having to stay in lodge
>call from insurance today, car is totaled with no gap insurance (I know, not my finances so I can't really be upset)
Hold me, /out/
Funny thing about the ordeal is that we let a ranger know about the log once it happened and he hit it too, fucking up his truck
What is this? Your fucking blog?
>>>/o/
Maybe they will give you the attention you crave
>>1012625
Who are you quoting?
Also, just call your insurance. Are you a fucking child? Shit happens thats why we have insurance.
>>1012629
>/out/ experience that happened to have a car involved
Not sure why you're so butthurt
