Bikes are good for your health, bla bla bla, They are amazing.
If you have a question, get in here.
I recently built my first wheel (rear) it took me a lot of trial and error but I got it nice and true now. There is one problem though the wheel is sligtly off center like maybe 1cm (out of dish) to the left will it affect the stability or handling in any way?
Is this a good deal for an Ultegra bike?

Anyone have experience with Windsor bikes?
Repoasting. I've got a two parter regarding bike storage:
1. Is there any problem with hanging a bike like pic related? Will it damage the wheel after ling periods of time?
2. Say I'm considering long term storage, should I take my bikes inside or leave them in the garage?
Im about to pull the trigger on this one, is there a reason why I shouldn't? its either this or the xiaomi one, not sure if I can post this here since this board has a hate boner towards ebikes tho.

Even if it wasn't memE-Bike, it looks like something a senior citizen would ride.

PONTA-KUN
Breaking Away was kinda fun, and being a road racer the race at the end kinda got my blood up -- even if I haven't seen a race run like that before (but I don't race track, so what do I know, right?)
What other good bike racing movies are there?
>>1021787
Most of the bike-related movies that exist are terrible, or mediocre at best.
Ladri di Biciclette is by far the best bike-related movie, but doesn't involve racing.
American Flyers is cheesy but probably the best depiction of intense bike racing in a movie.
The Flying Scotsman is pretty good too.
Nasu: Summer in Andalusia is great if you're interested in animated films
>>1021792
That's pretty much the list unless you want some movies that aren't bike racing?
Although I just watched 2 secondes, you can watch it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cuzc2RxhAwk
Has downhill in the beginning and a race at the end. I found it quite charming and the bike shop owner was great, would love to have a LBS like that.
You could always watch the TDF stuff like Slaying the Badger or the Pantani movie if you feel like more crappy movies with bikes in them.
OH YEAH WATCH RAD!!

>going on a 6.5 hour amtrak ride next weekend
>do a google image search for amtrak because im autistic
>nothing but derailed trains or otherwise destroyed trains
>ive been on shorter amtrak trips before where people have an heroed by jumping infront of the train and getting run over so we were delayed
whats the general consensus on amtrak?
Pretty safe, really. Even in a derailment you're probably not going to get hurt. Amtrak seldom runs on dark territory so it's not like you'll go flying into a cut of cars because somebody forgot to line a switch back.
Train accidents are rare and unusual, you're safer going by Amtrak than by almost any other mode.
amtrak is safe, relatively with contemporary equipment.
it's management and operation is awful however.
makes italian trains look pleasant.
Post a photo of thine bike.
The old old one is on life support.
This is mine...for those that have seen it before, yes I still haven't bought the proper tools to remove the fucking dork disk.

Hello I heard this board was bike general , I don't see any sticky or QTDDTOT so i'll ask my question here .
I'd like to start biking to and from college for many reasons including health benefit , increased TDEE , joocy legs and saving money , I do a bit of weightlifting and run 8 Km 4 to five time a week at around 11 Kph .
I never cycled once during the past 8 years and i'd like to know how long would it take for me to get conditioned to biking between 35-45 km two time a day in less than 2 hours , Five to six day of the weeks .
Looks like you didn't look too hard, since the bike questions general is two threads above

thanks fucking nigger
45k is around 27 miles, you are not going to ride nearly 50 miles a day any time soon.
A steady commuting speed is around 15-6mph depending on hills. Do you really want to spend 4 hours a day riding a bike, nearly every day, and not being able to run or do anything else? You don't.
A lot of gottagofastfags on this board will say I'm wrong, but I'm not. If you want to do it, it will take you a few months to get there from scratch, but the real struggle will be later when you're burning out and getting injured.
>he pays a stranger to service HIS own bike
what a cuck, whats next, paying a stranger to service your wife, amrite guys?
>>1022076
i come out ahead if i pay someone to do it who makes less than i do, and i just work more at my job.
poor people are poor for a reason, kid.
>>1022260
I understand what you're saying, but I enjoy working on my bike, it's a comfy way to spend my free time. I wouldn't enjoy working on other people's bikes for 40 hours a week though.
>>1022260
>coming out ahead
>being a wage slave
>but being less fulfilled as a man
literal cuck logic
Do you go to your local Critical Mass?
Have you ever taken a sound system?
CM thread go.
>>1020759
>are you a complete tool?
no, sorry. we're cyclists and mountainbikers.
Nah that shit is for gay hipsters and tryhards.
I'd rather stay way the fuck away from those types of people.
Unless it's a naked critical mass, count me out.
I've been a couple of times, it was full of drunk morons endangering themselves and everyone was riding slow as fuck
I'll take a regular group ride instead any time
I want high speed rail in America. Automobile traffic in areas like LA make me wish that they had built a decent enough rail system in Southern California. However after seeing a video like this in China or similarly in Tokyo, I'm curious to know what /n/ thinks the solution would be to overcrowded rail lines?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG-meaGqg-M
>>1018766
Nuking China and India would help the world in general desu.
>>1018767
This. Asian style of overcrowding simply can't happen with European and North American urban planning and density. Not even NYC during rush is this bad.
>>1018766
That wouldn't happen. LA is as big as Berlin and the metropolitan area is as populated as the Rhein-Ruhr area in Germany, and nothing like this occurs in either of those places. Asian cities are so densely populated and overcrowded that something like in your video can happen. But it would not occur in sprawling, car friendly, spaced out American cities.
Who's ready for another year of Saga/n/ circlejerk?

Thoughts /n/
>>1018283
Just like Solar Roadways it will likely never happen (at least on the scale they propose) and any smaller implementation will fail miserably.
>complaining about high taxes
You better not be American.
>>1018317
I am American and I live in California so I'm fucked when it come to higher taxes. Do your homework m8.
