Hi, i am on Mint right now and am liking it, but need some more updated packages and don't want to install them manually on Mint (as it could be problematic later on apparently)
so am thinking of going rolling: is LMDE (rolling mint) any good
or should i go with debian testing, or Antergos, manjaro, ...
any tips welcome
Arch is what you need

Manjaro is really nice. Been on it 18 months or so, and it's stable and easy to work with.
install alpine
Is there a single AAA (major publisher, high budget, demanding graphics) game from the past 5 years that runs faster on Mac than on Windows or Linux?
Is it because of lack of optimization on the game developers' part (since Mac market is small and Mac ports tend to be second thought), inefficient graphics drivers on Macs, design differences (flaws?) in the way graphics system is implemented in the macOS kernel, or something else?
>inb4 macOS drivers tuned for content creation - GPU-accelerated Adobe shit runs slightly slower on macOS than on Windows
>>61987830
No there isnt. Macs already start smoking when you open up word so you can imagine what happens if you try to run a game that uses all the hardware at the limit. Since there is no incentive to make games run well (machine going to burn anway) it was never tried.
>>61987927
>Macs already start smoking when you open up word
I know Mac Pro is now a niche product, but I don't understand why Apple doesn't have engineering resources to optimize GPU drivers for different usage scenarios, not just low-power laptop uses.
>>61987830
Maybe F1 port for Mac OS.

What the fuck is up with that float one. Is there a special function you're meant to use or something?
>>61989171
hardware FP has limited precision. This is why you sometimes see advice that you should never check floating-point numbers == 0. If you really do need a gorillion decimal places you can always use an arbitrary-precision library. The price you pay is that they're much slower. of course if you're writing JS it's not like you really care about that.

Well, his videos on thermal paste application, lapping, fan pressure and all the other things /g/ like to shriek incoherently about were pretty informative.
As people have been saying, these things make no difference beyond placebo. You might as well be wearing a magnetic bracelet to align your aura if you care about these things.
