>dashes
it's a hyphen you retard. and yes, you should use it over underscore since it's easier to type.
>>
>>62071676
i meant to type hyphen :^)

Did you even read his arguments? They're retarded and he's a moron for not knowing even how to use regex. Just use hyphens. Underscores are for retards.

Hi /g/ I have a receiver that is sucking right now. When connect from motherboard 3.5 out to the RCA input on the receiver the sound cuts for a second randomly. I heard it could be speaker wire arching but I tried switching to headphone out on the receiver and that had the same issue.
I will try headphones direct to that 3.5 mm port and see if that happens but I believe it is the receiver's issue. Any idea what I could expect to figure out if I popped off the cover? Additionally I don't think sound cuts if I listen through my turntable.

http://www.trunews.com/article/google-siblings-carcraft-may-lead-to-autonomous-cars

Recently, The Atlantic got a behind-the-scenes look at Waymo, a sister company to Google that is developing autonomous cars, and its new simulation software called “Carcraft.” Originally developed as a way to “play back” real-life driving scenarios, Carcraft is now a means to continuously test them:

>At any time, there are now 25,000 virtual self-driving cars making their way through fully modeled versions of Austin, Mountain View, and Phoenix, as well as test-track scenarios ... In 2016, they logged 2.5 billion virtual miles versus a little over 3 million miles by Google’s IRL self-driving cars that run on public roads. And crucially, the virtual miles focus on what Waymo people invariably call “interesting” miles in which they might learn something new. These are not boring highway commuter miles. The simulations are part of an intricate process that Waymo has developed. They’ve tightly interwoven the millions of miles their cars have traveled on public roads with a “structured testing” program they conduct at a secret base in the Central Valley they call Castle.

The report concludes that developing Waymo’s artificial intelligence “humans to sync with the cars,” whereby it ultimately gains an understanding of what it means to be a human, and perhaps vice versa:

>A memory of a roundabout in Austin becomes a piece of Castle becomes a self-driving car data log becomes a Carcraft scenario becomes a web of simulations becomes new software that finally heads back out on a physical self-driving car to that roundabout in Texas. Even within the polygon abstraction of the simulation the AI uses to know the world, there are traces of human dreams, fragments of recollections, feelings of drivers. And these components are not mistakes or a human stain to be scrubbed off, but necessary pieces of the system that could revolutionize transportation.

What was your latest "why didn't I think of that first?" moment?

I was doing push ups but I was also listening to a life coach and I realized I can't simultaneously listen to him and count my push ups. I figured there most be some kind of app that uses the accelerometer in the phone to count push ups, sort of like a step counter. Then I ran a search and the first result literally is an app that uses the proximity sensor and/or the touch screen itself if you put it on the floor in front of your head when doing push ups. How clever is that?

Ask a better question for one. Very vague.

It powers the entire API we use internally to manage our three locations of colo where we have racks of physical hardware. It's what powers a lot of the info that is used for provisioning and cuts the process for deploying new hardware from a multi step document to clicking "provision" and waiting ~10 minutes.
>>
>>62071445
>and waiting ~10 minutes

Is that because Django is doing background processing?

Honestly, I don't see the point of using python in high-availability, high-load scenarios.

You've got a fucking dev team, use a static page generator with apache/nginx or use something more efficient than fucking python for interactive content.

Why is the 7700k so even against the 1700x in games when the 1700x has more cores? What is it about the chip that makes it competitive in that one regard when the Ryzen chip blows it away in other aspects?

I'm just chilling after a long day.

im looking to finally make a long term switch, and i have a few important points i want in a distro. Can a linux pro guru recommend something.

- DONT NEED the "latest" updated version that will be kept up to date. Im perfectly fine with a specific old version of lets say lubuntu before systemd, as long as it works great, i dont care about "le security holes meme". My computer wont get magically flooded by viruses if its not kept updated everyday like windows 10 users believe, i preffer a well built piece of art that doesnt need to be updated.
