im looking to finally make a long term switch, and i have a few important points i want in a distro. Can a linux pro guru recommend something.
- DONT NEED the "latest" updated version that will be kept up to date. Im perfectly fine with a specific old version of lets say lubuntu before systemd, as long as it works great, i dont care about "le security holes meme". My computer wont get magically flooded by viruses if its not kept updated everyday like windows 10 users believe, i preffer a well built piece of art that doesnt need to be updated.
devuan
or install gentoo
- good font rendering and no stutter when moving windows around the desktop. a lot of distros have horrible font rendering and horrible v-sync related stutter when you move windows around. how can we fix this even?
-wont be using photoshop so dont care about it
install void
Alpine linux
Debian Jessie
trios (if they ever get off their asses and switch over servers)
There is a website that has a list of distros that don't use systemd....
