How much do you think this book was on the mark when it was first released in 1994? How much of its complaints do you think are still applicable today? What would you amend it with if you could?

It's still relevant now.
The section about LISP machines being replaced with dodgy unix boxen seem particularly relevant as an allegory to the current systemd debarcle.

I've got Netis WF2780 but I can get from him max 400mbps down and 450mbps up.
Picrel is my internet speed using cable.
400mbps down + 450mbps up are from 5GHz WiFi from this router of course, forgot to say that

>newest iPhones don’t have it

>3.5mm jacks will become a selling point again
It’s not the middle of the 20th century anymore. Why is the tech industry taking a step backwards?
>>62224949
Because Apple managed to convince it's retarded audience that they were getting something out of them removing the headphone jack while it was really about boosting peripheral sales, and now other manufacturers are trying to cash in on it.

>Why is the tech industry taking a step backwards?
Correcting a mistake.
A next good change wold be thick frame with internal space for a larger battery.
>*sigh*, we need more memory guys! Go get your computers so we can hot wire them all together!

love that show. As if they could combine the resources of 3 weird old ibm clones, which is likely what they had in the late 90's
Is there a way to fix the vomit-inducing default smooth scroll in Firefox? I want to switch to nightly from chromium but the choppy scrolling makes it unusable for me.
>>62224934
This thing is great. I use it on Chromium too (on Chromium it's just called Chromium Smooth Wheel Scroller)

I'm trying to install Linux Mint for the first time and apparently I'm retarded because I fucking can't. This is the error message I'm getting.

Partition your disk first.
The instructions here are similar:
When partitioning the disk you are required to set a root partition a.k.a where to install linux. you can choose to use a separate partition for your home folder and shit. To have linux installed on a partition you have to set "/" as a mounting point for that partition. If you have any other partitions (games and shit) you can have them mounted on specific locations, like "/games" for your games partition and so on.
