all kinds of curls, tricep work outs, eat eat eat. Triceps are more important for the big arm look
I've been doing pull ups, pushups, squats, dips, and crunches for two-and-a-half-hours for the last three weeks. Is there anything else I should be doing?
>>42646467
I'd replace crunches with hanging leg raises. They're infinitely better.
Also, add some bridges and handstands/handstand pushups to your routine.
>>42646467
Lifting weights, so that you actually might get stronger and look better.
>>42646492
Don't listen to this guy, OP. Weights are fine, but you don't need them to look ripped. Bodyweight is fine as long as you know what you're doing.
>intermittent fasting
Okay, I understand the appeal of gorging yourself full of food during a small window and then starving yourself for the rest, but surely this will tell your body to store more fat, right? I mean, if your body expects to go without food for a period of time it will more readily store energy so its available. I know calories in calories out dictates that you WILL lose weight if you take in less than you expend, but surely body composition, blood sugar levels, energy, etc would be better if you just spaced out your meals equally through the day?
Just trying to apply some logic to what seems to be a manageable binge-eating disorder by another name.

As a physician, I have not found any dangerous effects of IF or beneficial effects of steady oral intake in otherwise healthy adults. There are pros and cons to both.
As an argument in favor of IF, I would suggest that IF mirrors the feast and famine diet that comprised much of human evolutionary biology and that a regular source of food is relatively new for homo sapiens.
A simple argument against of course is that although our bodies have evolved to adapt to times of feast and famine we also live longer than ever before and a diet with steady oral intake has not shown to be detrimental.
Ultimately there are no large randomized phase III studies to compare the two and it is unlikely that there will be anytime soon. Therefore most of our data is retrospective and not truly definitive.
However, as someone who regularly deals with the ill-effects of poor diet and has seen the benefits of IF in patients, family members, and myself, I lean to the opinion that: it likely helps with the mental aspect of a cut with minimal implications for health (in other wise healthy adults).

my biggest argument against the whole "eat more smaller portioned meals throughout the whole day" argument boils down to two main points.
Point the first, repeated insulin spikes shut off the fat cell's ability to release fat into the blood stream for metabolism. By the time it starts pushing out fat it gets stopped in it's tracks by your next "small portioned meal"
Point the second is that smaller portioned meals don't trigger the satiety response as well as, or at all, when compared to regular meals.
Every single person I've ever spoken to on shortened eating windows says that their struggle with hunger is completely eliminated after transitioning to at least a 16:8 window.
As to your question in regards to blood sugar. Barring any wierd disease or malody a person with body fat to spare can fast for weeks, and even months on end even doing a semi-strenuous job or workout routine the entire time and never have low blood sugar.
The liver is perfectly capable of gluconeogensis from the glycerol backbone of cleaved triglycerides or even free protein released from autophagy.
i do interminent fasting, i eat when i wake up, then i dont eat till the night (dinner) then i eat some fruits and go to bed
since i do this i feel way better, im in better shape, have more energy, less bodyfat and my system is healthier in general
the only thing is its hard to gain muscle, but who cared, i feel good at my weight right now
Who has the best fitness advice? I researched a few, maybe Lyle? Mike Mathews? Scooby? Rippeoe?
Dr Mike isratel (sp?) By far the best. He's ourguy as fuck, autistic blinking, spastic speed talking, but amazing info made simple

Hi /fit, what motivated you to start lifting? For me it was missing out on my high school crush, and the many opportunities of high school. I was 230 lbs last year, and now I'm 167 lbs.
Currently lifting for a girl. Wondering if I should add her and hit her up on fb once I reach my goal body.
It's not creepy if I look like a sick cunt and do this, right?

Does anyone else have bow legs?
I want to get fit but my legs are bowed which, along with poor lifestyle choices, has led to atrophy of my legs glutes and hips.
Would appreciated some advice.
Pic isn't me but my legs are similar.
>advice on bone structure
Uh...
I'd like some advice on how to get fit. Whether it's possible to bodybuild with legs like these. And if it is how best to go about it.

Buy a barbell, plates, and power rack. Do it online if you don't want to talk to people. Then install it in your house and be /homegymmasterrace/

This.
You don't even need any dedication to make gains - I'm between sets right now.
I could, but you might unironically not even be a nazi so I can't do it in good conscience
Hello. I am a 19 year old 5'7 manlet who currently weighs 165 pounds. I have been training for a year, mostly doing a brosplit since I just found out about /fit/ last week.
I was thinking of cutting down to 143 pounds or somewhere that close so I can get lean before starting to actually properly bulk since I am already at like 18% bf.
General tips are favorable , I actually want to improve.
Also yeah, I took the picture in the gym but it was during non work hours at a uni with a friend so I only embarrassed myself in front of him.
you sure you're 165?
I'm 5'7" as well and I weigh 165 and you look way bigger than I do
>>42645368
Last time I weighed myself(Friday) I was at 75 Kg which is 165.3 sharp. Idk, maybe the scale was off.
>>42645348
youre delusional, you arent 18%, try like 23%
