humans are too self centered to notice small changes in others and no you won't go from average to muscle man lifting without roids or a decade+ of lifting experience. unless you go from skeletor to decent build or fatass to in shape nobody will say a word. that's why roids are so popular. everyone wants attention for nothing.

So I look like shit but I actually have a very decent bench, I can bench 225 for 3 reps all the way down touch chest and back up. I'm a 160lbs fatty.

But my chest looks like shit? Today I tried retracting my shoulders while benching 4 the first time ever and couldn't even get 10 reps of 150

Is this why powerlifters look like shit?

I thought my form was okay, when i bench heavy I touch my chest and stuff but apparently my shoulders have been doing everything? If i continue retracting my scapula in my workouts am I about to make very good chest gains?

Anyone else have this?

Not bait btw, literally can rep 200-225lbs 3-5 eaaasily. But today for the first time I retracted and the weights I could handle dropped drastically.. tbf I never do high reps and today was a lot of volume but by my third working set I had to drop downwards of 135lbs just to reach my desired 8reps???????????

for about the first year of training i didnt retract my shoulders and my shoulders would do a lot of the work. i slowly changed my form but i retract my shoulders now and can bench 3pl8. when you start using heavier weights its important to keep your shoulders safe which is why you should start doing it

Milk has always been my favorite lifting beverage, mostly because of white supremacy but also because of cheap extra calories/preteens. It seems like I've been noticing some extra watery shits when I drink milk or eat ice cream. Not even rippetoe amounts of milk just a glass. This doesnt happen when I have kefir or yogurt or cheese though.
Anyone have experience with this bullshit? Are my gains going to leave me?

ok fit i might regret this but ive come here for advice once again.
would it be productive to have a program where you train for both strength and hypertrophy? as in for every two hyportrophy rep range workouts you do, you do one strength rep range? or the other way around or w/e. or would it just be a waste of time?

Oh and to maximize gains what is the true optimal time to wait after a workout before you eat? Most bro scientists says to eat immediately but in reality studies are totally inconclusive, saying anything from immediately to within the first six hours. And if you wait to eat you get a much bigger fat burn afterwards than you would if you eat immediately and maintain the higher hgh output.

You want to eat in order to replenish your nitrogen balance. If you're lifting appropriately, a decent workout consisting of resistance training should put your nitrogen balance in the negative. You want to not only be as anabolic as possible, but also prevent as much tissue degradation as possible.

Protein synthesis is definitely increased within 24-48 post heavy lifting. Metabolic and tissue stress like resistance training is going to increase mTOR, which upregulates protein synthesis.

Really there's no downside to eating immediately. Anabolic processes maintain for a long period of time post workout, but the key is also to avoid tissue degredation. With that in mind I like to eat within 2-3 hours of lifting just to bring nitrogen balance back to the positive.

You're initiating the squat with your knees (which isn't bad in itself if you are doing olympic-style squatts, bu tyou are not). You are losing tightness, especially in the bottom portion of the lift and you also have buttt wink.

Your lower back rounds quite a bit at the bottom, which I'm sure is making you lose core tightness and harming your stability. Depth is definitely good but I think your knees are out of sync with your hips and upper body as you initiate the descent and as you start going back up. Consider sticking your butt out and puffing your chest as you start the movement.

You're right I don't feel tightness in the lower portion but I like deep squat.
