What's the best way to lose body fat and gain some arm muscles, /fit/?

Has anyone been in the gym and you and a girl keep walking past each other, and you keep getting the distinct impression that she wants you to talk to her? I got that today, but she left before I could say anything. Normally I don't talk to anyone unprovoked so as not to be that weird guy, but I would have bet $100 that she wanted me to hit on her.

u cant avoid it completely just accept the fact ur gonna lose weight, both fat and muscle, but to make it so u lose less muscle you should lift and eat about 0.8grams of protein per lean pound of body mass.

keep in mind if ur a beginnar it doesnt matter ur gonna gain strength and gain muscle while cutting anyway

I just can't seem to get fatty or muscle gains /fit/

I eat 4-5 meals a day including protein bars between then and do the following

20 km city bike rides to work/friends
I play Shapeup on my xbox for 20 minutes
Another 40 minutes exercising with dumbbells while watching a tv show

I've been doing this for 2 months while eating a ton of peanut butter and milk with my protein bars and chicken + cooked rice

What can I do ? I still look skinny and I hate it

i lift 4 times a week and cycle around 300 miles/week and i have to eat almost 5000 calories for slow bulk. 5'8, 177 lbs

How the fuck do you eat on a budget in Upsidedownsie Boomerangland?
I'm 19, stuck on the dole with $400 a fortnight paying $100 a week rent to sleep on a mattress in a garage. I'm some skinny skeleton trying so hard to even afford to eat but I'm stuck with a whole chicken, Jasmine Rice and $1.50 bagged vegetables for two weeks, that's it.
I feel like a wreck /fit/, I'm stuck here lurking and seeing everyone cook these legendary looking meals in the /fit/ cooking threads and wish I could do that. I see people in the CBT threads and I wished I could improve like them. I'm desperately looking for jobs but it just feels like no one gives a shit anymore. I got to the point where I slept with a 37 year old man for $50 the other night just to pay utilities that my housemate sprung on me, then discovered later on that he was HIV+ but on medication.
I used to work when I was a teenager, but now I'm past that "Junior" phase where they don't have to pay you above a threshold, I'm out of luck and don't know where to turn.
I don't want to live like this /fit/, I don't know what the fuck to do anymore, I can't even move back in with my parents cause all they do is smoke crack paranoid someone is out to get them. How the fuck do you people manage to land jobs that give you financial stability to live on your own? Who teaches you how to cook and to live on your own if your parents don't? I'm sorry that I'm using this as my personal blog but I honestly don't know what the fuck to do anymore. I just feel so malnourished, disadvantaged and don't know where else to turn apart from you anons.

I was going to give up coffee and junk food today but I will make this day the final one. Another day of moping around central London, mad at my ugly genetics and all the normies who see me as scum because of it, and whining on 4chan will cultivate a sense of embittered purpose that will increase the chance that I later "make it" and avoid giving up a healthy and frugal lifestyle. I'm going to have lots of fast food today. I've postponed shaving and my haircut until tomorrow (no, I don't have a neckbeard or long hair, the face genetics are my only flaw). I'm going to hit a low in looks today. The large tub of Ben and Jerry's ice cream I had yesterday piled on fat.

Just riding the underground to this station where I sit moping, I've seen lots of attractive women who consider me a disgusting non-Chad, including a 10/10 blonde (I know that makes me sound like Elliot but it is the truth). Also I saw Spanish speaking jailbaits on their own. And some other girls that would be considered 9s on a regular day.

It's kind of funny, of the 3 or 4 most attractive girls I've seen since moving to London, 2 or 3 of them were with their parents. Really makes you think.

My internal 4chan monologue dominates now. Usually when I see women my age I think in a mock girl voice, "Like, ew, he's not Chad!". When I see a Chad, I think in a mock deep voice, "Ay Stacey, dumb bish, get over here!" "Tee-hee! Cumming Chad!"

For me to sit here and drink this coffee takes more mental strength than Chad or Stacey need to run 15 km to raise money for whichever charity Instagrammers like. Think about it.

What's wrong with working out 6 days a week?

When I'm at uni, I have A LOT of free time and I usually do a PPL 6 days a week.
PPLxPPL
Anything less than 4 days a week is too boring and I start to lose interest in keeping up the routine.

If I'm eating and sleeping enough, is there any problem?

"the backlift" was an uncommon exercise back in the day, but the record is 2850~lbs If it was a populare exercise today, then we would see numbers that is way higher.

What changes or additions or similar cause power jumps in your training?

I was stalling very hard on deadlifts. I kept having form failure and my lower back started to round. It was like this for more than a month. One day I had a terrible day before my workout and felt depressed as shit. Again my deadlifts failed but I was upset enough that I refused to have my day made worse by failing my set and pushed through 3 additional reps with shit form.
However when I reviewed myself on video I saw that even though it felt like my form broke down it was actually fine. I don't know why it felt like my lower back was rounding when it looked perfectly fine. It might be a bit dumb but since then I push through even if my form feels imperfect, I'll correct it after reviewing video of it. After that deadlifts became my best lift.


What about you guys. What cause you to experience 'power jumps'?

Learning how to lock my spine into neutral change everything for me in the squat and deadlift.
I would always lose so much power at the bottom of the squat and had to grind ym way up. When i learned this i could power through it, with ease and squat a lot more.
It also helped me tremendously in the deadlift. As my back would start rounding all the time. even with 80% of my max. Now it doesnt.

For upper body lifts the biggest thing have been learning to keep my shoulders in position. I slightly elevate them and keep them there. That way i dont get any pain or discomfort in any lifts, which i used to get before.
I used to have back pain, shoulder pain and clavicle issues. Now im painfree, proressing faster than ever and im stronger than ever.

How do I stop feeling guilty about not working non stop? Apart from things all humans do plus going to the gym, I feel guilty about any of my habits. And I have no goals.

I want to read books but I feel guilty about reading a set number of pages a day. I am worried about being called a pleb for not reading ten trillion boring Western canon novels. I feel like an ADD pleb for rarely reading more than 60 pages at a time. I hate that I'm more likely to put a book down at the end of a chapter.

Similarly for working. I know I could always be working to become better off. I know that people who talk about taking breaks are just lying to themselves. I feel bad for not having the willpower necessary to work non stop on one thing for 10 hours. If I work on one thing then I miss the big picture. If I work on many things I am a dilettante who doesn't achieve anything.

And the funny thing is that I'm a Stirnerite. When you stay unspooked then everyone else's belief system feels like a personal attack. Fuck these people who say that X is so important. X is always working hard / enjoying yourself / focusing on one thing / focusing on many things / reading history / classics / philosophy / other shit.

The awful thing is that I know everyone else is a fraud. That NFL player who everyone loves and says is hardworking has never read a book. That mathematics professor known as a genius is a disgusting dyel. That literary figure who goes on about Shakespeare being a god doesn't know any maths or science greater than an 18 year old yet claims to be worldly. That billionaire who goes on about humanity's big issues does nothing but write checks for people who make social media apps.
