It's not fair. I'm a girl and my TDEE is 1950. I eat 700 calories a day to create a 1250 calorie deficit while guys have TDEES that are 2500+ and "cutting" is 1500 calories.
Girls also build no fucking muscle and need to turn into men to get big. Lifting heavy doesn't do shit for someone with poor genetics.

Started working out couple weeks ago. I look similar to the guy in the pic, super skinny narrow shoulders, tiny T-Rex arms, and can't seem to find options for exercises for someone like me (most stuff I've found deal with amputees or normal bodied people).
I really want to work on my upper body: chest, shoulders, and getting my chicken arms a bit thicker would be a bonus.

So I've been reading a lot of fascist literature lately off of /lit/'s recommendations, coupled with Socrates' quote (you know the one), and decided I want to gain some nice, lean muscle.
I've never really worked out before and was wondering whether I should start by doing a couple exercises at home, or just head straight to a gym. I've also never really had a problem with weight gain on account of my fast metabolism, but I figure it's best to catch an early start before I end up with a pot belly.
I've read the sticky, but I'm more interested in your guys' personal experiences; mainly, what compelled you to pursue the life of fitness in the first place.

Would this be ok? How much would you take?
Been doing 225 for sets since last month on squat and tried using a belt since I had problems with my lower back. Went for a 275 single which flew up easy, but felt a strong burning sensation in my lower right abdomen/pelvic area. Almost where the leg meets the pelvis. This only started happening when I tried a belt on for the first time and my form has always been great.
Side note: 275 is my strongest 1rm, the closest I've been to it was 245 about a month ago, and I go ATG. No pain after the lift, just strange strained feeling.

If you have a bulge from the intestines pushing out, you have a hernia. Other than that, you'd have to have a GP check you out to feel for weaknesses in the ab wall.
More than likely you strained the area and you'll be OK. The area you described is more likely a non-hernia injury unless it's right up on your scrotum.
One last bit bc /fit/ is fidget spinner-level autist. Belts do not prevent or cause hernias. You have a higher chance of them once you start lifting; but in return it's going to take a lot more to cause the injury than a non-/fit/ person
