I have 16GB of RAM in my computer but I only use about 7.8 - 7.9GB most days. Looking at task manager, seems like a good 7GB chunk of it is being used as cache to help frequently used programs load faster.
If I were to get another computer that only had 8GB RAM, would it feel noticeably slower, given that it's still an excess over the ~7.8GB or so that I actually use?
In other words, is RAM used as cache significant in making a computer feel snappier? I already have an SSD, if that makes a difference.

If you are close to 8gb already, your system will spike over it from time to time . You will notice it is worse either way. Can you afford to buy a stick or 2 more? RAM is one of the cheaper parts.

That depends quite a bit on the system.
Older computer would benefit quite greatly from it. Modern systems, not so much. You wouldn't notice anything more than a few milliseconds difference on a modern platform. I tend to disable prefetching and superfetch.

How do I get over the stress and anxiety of school. I'm going back in a few days and I'm having mental and emotional breakdowns. Even when I'm AT school all of the stress gets rid of my appetite and I don't eat right. I feel like gagging. Is there anyway to overcome these feelings?

I need opinions anons, here is a story. May, go to a baseball game with some friends. Call one friends Gf a thot as a joke. Yeah I guess that was idiotic. And of course He got mad. What does it take to survive the nomadic lifestyle? I'm going to be out of debt in about 8 months and I'm thinking about what I might want to do with my life for the next few years and I think it would be exciting to travel the country on pic related. The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that I'm not very outgoing. It could be hard for me if I find myself in need of help/work. Could that make it potentially dangerous?

It's a bike, so you'd need camping gear if you planned on not sleeping in hotels, or finding places to stay. With that, you're going to need pots, pans, ways of purifying water, you'll want tools, clothes, food, and water to carry on you as you travel...
A bike is just a poor way to go. By the time you load it up with all that crap, the things going to be scrapping the ground, and have terrible fuel economy.

I'm seeking some opinions on this situation that happened last night. It appears that the guy who is supposed to be a very close friend flipped the fuck out ok me last night completely irrationally. Four of us were headed to a brewery and it was about to be five so my friend texts to the fb group chat that he wants front seat.... I'm like whatever you can have it.. anyways on the way back I call shottgun after seeing the car (the legit way) and he's like nope I already called it.. I'm like yeah that was for on the way you can't claim it for the whole trip. He's like fuck outa here and I say you're not better than the rest of us and everyone should have a fair chance...
He gives it to me but starts talking crazy shit, insinuating I'm trying to start drama. The friend who is driving by this point tells him to stfu, reiterates he's not entitled to the front seat always and that it's his car, and that he needs to chill since this is an ongoing issue with him..
The friend that's mad legit makes a physical threat "I'm going to smash your face in..."
Anyways we are all headed to my house after for a party and he doesn't wanna come acts like I'm a piece of shit and not a friend anymore. ...
So is it just me or was he being a massive entitled cunt and put his ego at a higher importance than his friendship? I should add that even he's never done shit for me when I've done all the favors in the relationship for the most part.

I said he was acting like a little girl and he took that as an insult... I was only trying to calm him down. This morning all my other friends agreed he's was acting irrational and think he should apologize, but say they think he won't. It's really upsetting since our whole circle of friends is fucked up cause now we can't all chill together. Alright /adv/, I have been hovering around coming to this board for advice for some time now, but after multiple years of this problem going on, I am wondering if some of you might be able to help out.
Basically, I have a huge problem with shame, and I am currently dealing with an addiction that I have managed to control to such an extent that it gets to the point where I'm doing fine, but then I hit this wall where I'm confronted with absolute shame over me having done those activities before to begin with because they are outlandish and humiliating.
So, how do I deal with shame? It surely can't be as easy as just ''moving on'', can it?
