Are there any efforts to load PSX games on the original hardware via on ODE like the Rhea/Phoebe on the Saturn, or GDEMU on the Dreamcast?

I know about PSIO, but it seems to have questionable compatibility. The guy making them seems kind of shady too, but maybe it's just me.

>I know about PSIO, but it seems to have questionable compatibility.

PSIO is fine (I have one). Very few games have issues and the issues experienced are like the ones with Rhea/Phoebe where devs anticapted a certain data load speed.

I can't fathom that you'll find anything better for PSX.
>>
>>3605715
That's a bit reassuring. When orders opened up last time, they were gone in less than 45 mins.

The compatibility list just spooked me a little because it seemed highly questionable. Lots of "untested" games, I mean it takes 5 mins to test most of those issues. I admit, though, I haven't been following it closely like I did Rhea and gdemu.
>>
>>3605719
Only issue I've had is a (very) light 'skip' in FF7/FF8/FF9 cut scenes, but it's a repeat skip in that it will play the same .25 seconds of video every 30 seconds or so, and hardly noticable.

I've only played 25 or so games since I got it though.

Well mossy games in series are different from one another so it's hard to say

If you like Megami Tensei 1 play the second and definitely play SMT1&2

Also Play Nocturne

From there if you like those games just try everything else

Instruction manuals that were usually thicker and had more content/information in them, which is why a lot of RPG's came in dual-cases. Probably the same case with your pic related

Remember when the best part of getting a game when you were younger was reading the instruction manual on the car ride home. Good times.

Anti-emus are just hardware snobs. Do what works for you anon.

Well that's kinda my point. Emulation doesn't work for me. Nnless I'm playing with the actual original hardware, it just doesn't feel right and ultimately fails to retain my attention.

I made a thread a few days ago about how I find so many of my older games at thrift stores and pawn shops. Sometimes though, all you have to do is ask around the neighborhood. A lady on my street gave me a paper bag filled with everything you see in the pic for free. I posted on an app called nextdoor that I was looking for old games to add to my collection and got a pretty decent response. Most of the time people don't want their old video games anymore but can't really bear the thought of selling them. If they know that they're going to someone who will appreciate them though they feel better about it. Give it a try.

Nice find anon.

I got this Saturn for $25 on Craigslist last week. He offered me the (broken) Genesis for free. Unfortunately I can't repair it (wouldn't power on which I fixed with some solder reflow but it will only boot SMS games from my ED despite cleaning the pins and fixing some other sketchy solder joints). Selling Toe Jam & Earl will more than cover the cost of a new unit though. The OEM Autofire controller is cool, didn't know they made those. I like the original controllers better than the 6 button ones because I have big hands.

Dude had just gotten his old stuff from a storage locker back in New York and just wanted to flip it to a good home. Idk if he knew that Saturn's are worth $60-70 now but he knew that Toe Jam was worth a bit. Really nice dude, felt sort of bad for paying him only $25 for all this stuff but that's all the cash I had. There were spider webs and shit in the Saturn though so it took some time to clean all that out when I was taping the lid censor for Pseudo Saturn.

Definitely need a new Saturn controller. I wrapped the loose wire with electrical tape but it feels like shit. Sucks because I think this model looks a lot nicer than the Mk 2.
>>
Good finds, OP.

Thrifting used to be damn good in my area but now everyone checks the game sections and the employees steal all the really good shit. Oh, and Shopgoodwill happened. My last good hit was a CIB copy of Bust a Groove with a loose copy of part two tucked behind the first for three bucks, but that was like two years ago.

Normies who know nothing about retro gaming in the modern age.

It's the same people that kept the plug and play business alive for 2 decades. Just now Nintendo is finally getting in on it because they can get the hardware so cheap that it's worth their time.

Don't be part of the problem
>>
>60$ famiclone

It's crazy when you can go to Chinatown and buy some shitty bootleg plug and play clone with fake PS1 controllers and it ends up being a rom drop of one of the 110in1 famicom carts from Russia with all the games the MiniNES has and MORE.

But that's the beauty with casuals and video games, you can make millions off of them due to their lack of knowledge

how can i display my collection in an actual aesthetic way instead of looking like an autistic hoarder?

You pretty much answered your own question with your pic. A large, well-organized bookshelf and cable management goes a long way. He even has a little cable-cover running behind the TV so you don't see those two extra cables. Clean as fuq.
>>
>>3602104

Honestly bro, I come to the conclusion that 90% of it has to stay out of sight, boxed and labeled. No dust, no sun damage, easy storage. And with each system style boxed separately it's really easy to just bring it out of storage every time you want to play.
