Hey /vr/, I got a Nintendo 64 for my birthday from my sister. What are the best ways to get N64 games? I was thinking just lurk flea markets and Craigslist for undervalued stuff, but I wanted to see if you guys had any tips too. Any help expanding the library is appreciated.

>>
buy a flashcart and then have every game. collecting actual cartridges is a pointless fool's game.
>>
>>3606821
This. Flashcarts are pricey, $100-$200 depending on where you find it, but N64 games are so expensive you'd be lucky to get 4 of the most popular games for that price, and the Everdrive 64 has pretty much 100% compatibility so it'll get you the entire library.
>>
>>3606834
The N64 only has 4 good games anyway though.

Does /vr/ have any experience with these usb controllers? Anyone know of any that last and wont just crap out after a few months?

Right now I'm thinking about getting these: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=103482166&gclid=CJb_n_jQk9ACFYFpfgodPHoEGA&camp=PLAPPCG-_-PID24476881:TRUS&cagpspn=plat_24476881&eESource=CAPLA_DF:103482166:TRUS

If anyone here has experience with them, how was it? Is it really just plug and play with an emulator, or did you have to mess around a bit to get it working?

I know it's a sin not to play on original hardware but I am a worthless pleb who only cares about simulating the original controller.

>>
Personally for me, to simulate original controllers, id get the original controller and get an adapter for said controller. I have a Snes to wii adapter i use for my virtual console games (only emulation i usually do)
>>
I highly advise against using any 3rd party replica controllers like these, especially with a price tag as low as 9.99 $. Even if they may not break over time if you're lucky, they still feel like crap and it does affect gameplay a lot. For emulating NES games I highly recommend a ps3 controller for its d-pad. It won't exactly be plug in play but the drivers out there for it are great and I promise you it'll improve your gameplay experience greatly.
>>
>>3606398
I already have a PS3 controller that I use for some pc games. But using it for NES still feels wrong.

>>3606382
I might do this. Do you know much futzing about it takes to get them working with an emulator?

Is it worth getting a PAL PSX if I'm an Amerifag?

What are the best PAL only games?
7 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
"PAL only" as in Japanese games that bizarrely only saw a PAL release?

The Firemen 2: Pete & Danny?
>>
I must be in bizarro world again.
>>
You're better off as americunt when it comes to the PS1, we didn't get a lot of the RPG's that the PS1 is known for. The only PAL exlcusives I can think of are Terracon, Earthworm Jim 2, Overboard, Carmageddon, Alfref Chicken, Jinx, Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds, the Hugo games and the Special Edition of Wipeout 3

still the best kart racing game

I like Mario Kart a lot and agree that it is an awesome game, but Crash Team Racing is easily the best kart racing game of all time and superior to Mario Kart in every way.
>>
>>3605761
>>3605807
I respectfully disagree. The best kart game is Double Dash.

>>3605864

I disagree.

Retro? Mario Kart 64 (inb4 contrarians, MK64 is the favorite of a large majority of people who play kart games)

Of all time? Sonic and Sega All-Stars Transformed

Don't just sit there and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, do it right away. Do it when you can. It's the only way to live a life without regrets.

Why the fuck is this acceptable? Why are they charging $20 for Mario/Duck Hunt? They literally came packaged with the console, and they have seven copies.
50 posts and 8 images submitted.
>>
Well obviously it's not acceptable, OP, because they're clearly not selling at that price.
>>
>>3604701
Not OP, but are you making a joke about it being 1 cent off from $20?
>>
Start high sell lower is how I see it whenever going into a retro shop. Money talks and with 7 copies you're safe to make a offer they won't refuse. They price it at $20 for any suckers that want to pay $20 for it.

Hi fellow anons,

I'm having trouble remembering an old PC game. It was set in feudal Japan and if I remember correctly I think it played the old Baldur's gate pc game.

Any help is appreciated!

Boy. I was a kid of course I was gonna be honest. I wasn't into girls at the time I just chose boy because I'm a boy. Why would I play as a girl? That's for girls!
>>
>>3604439
I think unless you knew you liked sausage that early, most people chose boy because they are boys.

For real! This game is super legit! I played this a couple months back when I couldn't fall asleep. Best decision ever! Definitely one of the best platformers I've ever played and definitely a standout title on the Genesis! I need to go back and finish it!
