Of all of the great RPGs available on the SNES...
Which is your favourite, and why? Maybe also share which ones you've actually played.
I think mine is Final Fantasy III (VI).
It's tough to explain why.
I think the overall themes, story, and characters just... hit a sweet spot in me.
The music isn't even that great in my opinion (although it IS great), but the game just really touches me.

Any DQ. Also Earthbound, it's a decent DQ clone

>Favorite RPG
EarthBound.
I don't care if this game is too "trendy" right now with "hipsters" and "millennials", I still love it just the same as I always have.
>Favorite Action RPG
Brandish 2.
It's a bit like those grid-based dungeon crawlers like Dungeon Master, SMT, Wizardry, etc., but in an overhead view like Zelda.
Only way to play it is through a fan translation though. The first Brandish was really good too, and actually came out over here, but I think the 2nd is a huge improvement in gameplay and story.
Sadly it never got localized, but the fan translation is damn near perfect.
I hope Brandish 3 and 4 get translated some day, I'd love to play them
Good games seted in Ancient Egypt
>>3612241
Timelapse is a 1st person adventure game that has you visiting multiple ancient civilizations, of which Egypt is one.
>>3612241
Back half of Tomb Raider is set in Egypt. The Last Revelation is all Egypt and Tombs.
> Some guy I'm subbed to on Youtube
> Bought a Neo Geo AES with some stuff
> Total is easily 4k+
> Haggled it on Craiglist for 500 bucks (most of it was a PS4 he traded in)
Are all collectors this fucking kike as well?
If you're getting a good deal do you still haggle it down?
>>3612004
Those deals don't exist.
>>3612005
So they lie on the internet?
>>3612009
No, they tell the truth.
Hey, there's a friend of mine who's been looking for an old point and click videogame for a very long time. She played it in her childhood, 90's. I tried helping her finding the title, but can't manage to do it either.
Here several clues: - The main character's fiancèe / wife gets kidnapped. She probably is pregnant, because their house has a newborn room. - The characters in the game are human, but visually "quite funny". - It's half live action, half videogame. - There are several islands. The one where the main character lives is "always gray with a cloudy sky". - There's a part where you have to get tickets for a ship, probably to travel to another island. - My friend remembers to have got stuck in a part where a cart takes the player into a mine. - It often rains. There's a sunny island, but it rains even there. - There are not so many people on the roads. It rains, after all (lol). - On one of the islands, you have to find the pieces to assemble a little car. - There were two languages available in the game: English and French.
Maybe some of the above details can be somehow distorted, just because they're very old memories.
Anyway if you can help us, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I've been looking through lots and lots of old and unknown games, but none of them is the one we're looking for.

Saw you crosspost this from /v/. I can't answer your question, but bear in mind that this is a slow board and it may be days before you get an answer.

I think its little big adventure 2: Twinsen's Odyssey
>>3612539
It's on Steam
>try to play super mario kart with a friend
>damn bruh how do i even turn
>how do you even tell whats going on with these shitty graphics
At least they can comprehend nba jam and bomberman
Mario Kart is one of those series where I can't believe the first entry was successful enough to warrant the number of sequels it got.
I mean, F-Zero seems fine to me but I just can't handle Mario Kart.
>>3611880
Its a magical game anon
Bit of a learning curve but once you get into it its awesome
For social purposes youre better off with the later entries tho since they were made easier

>My friend keeps bugging me to hang out so he can play my nes (I have an everdrive and he mainly likes doing megaman 2 runs)
>I decide to show him something
>Boot up Smash TV
>Grab the player 1 controller out of his hand and tilt it sideways
>hand him the second controller
>He looks REALLY confused
>the game starts
>His mind was so blown nuclear fission gives us less energy
It was great.
What does /vr/ think of Driver? Also retro driving/racing games thread.
>>3611819
1. Great fun with the minigames.
2. Casuals have trouble with the tutorial.
3. Gods have trouble with the last level.
4. "Nice drivin', son."
One of the best ps1 games
>>3611846
The last level requires a miracle to beat it.luckily I got it
Anyone else here love Final Fantasy IX? My friends love FF, but dislike IX... I ask them for reasons and they tell me they 'just don't like it' :c
>>3611812
we have a thread up. also your friends are probably edge lords
I thought FF9 was bland as fuck. It wasn't bad, though.
>>3611816
This. If their favorite final fantasy is 7 or 8 then you can just go ahead and invalidated their opinion.
SNES just loads to a black screen. The board looks clean. No bad caps. Any ideas?

Are the pins on the right really rusted or is that just the light reflection?
name some games that are generally considered to be mediocre or worse that you really enjoy.
super chase hq on snes is one. yeah, it gets old quick but you can put the game away and come back to it. what is there is unique and fun for me.
talespin on genesis. yeah, it's not perfect and there are better options (other Disney platformers for sure) but I have good memories of this one and enjoy it a lot.
I like these games. if someone else said they couldn't get into them, I wouldn't try to convince them. these games don't feel like they'd be for everyone especially super chase hq.
what about you guys?
ActRaiser 2
Once I really understood how you control the character it got really fun and the magic system is really cool.
Zelda 2
Stunt race FX is kinda fun
Just too bad that u basically cant play 2 player
Are there any other action-adventure games (in English) on MSX of the same caliber as Metal Gear 2?
Hydlide series, Dragon Slayer series
I like Treasure of Ushas, Castle Excellent and Welcome to Heaven but they may not be up to "caliber"
>>3611432
Konami made a bunch of great games on MSX.
>>3611432
It's amazing how underrated/underappreciated this game will forever be.
Why am I so shit at this game?
I know it's not that hard compared to a lot of comparable games, but I get blown out time and time again when I come back to play it. I couldn't finish it as a kid, I can't finish it now, and this is with the infinite shuriken cheat on.
Try not to double jump all the time and use the shield if you suck.
It requires taking your time but also being quick sometimes.
Memorization.
Enemies on this game start attacking you even before you can see them. You must remember the position of every enemy, and attack beforehand with the shuriken.
What part specifically do you get your ass rekt?
>>3611771
You can usually duck just in time
How do you plan to protect your systems & games once the solar EMP is on its way?
Unless there's some kind of protective shielding apparatus at consumer level prices -> PROTIP: I can't.
