What does /vr/ think about Lazy Game Reviews?
Personally is one of my favorite youtubers, one of the few I approve.
>>3740362
huh huh huh i get it, he's lazy
Can't stand the smug son of a bitch. He's reaching Spoony levels of cancer these days.
>"this instruction manual will instruct you manually on how to play the game and you will most likely be instructed after reading it"
This is your average LGR sentence. It's just annoying whenever he does that.
He also uses the word awesome a lot. Guy should really invest in a thesaurus.
What's /vr/'s opinion of Alien Trilogy?
Decent doom clone, captures the Alien atmosphere well, pretty good ambient soundtrack. Definitely worth playing if you like Alien.
i own it for ps1. like the other anon said, really well done doom clone.
its very hard too, almost unenjoyable without an infinite ammo cheat i'd say.

Slimerphobia
Guys help me out.
Trying to get an emulator to play n64/nes/ps1 etc games on my phone and use separate sim cards for each respective system. Which ones.do you like and why?im not paying 202 dollars for super mario land 2 for gameboy
>>3740218
>sim cards
Second time this week you've made this faux pas. At this stage I think you're a troll, a retard or a retarded troll.
>>3740223
What?
This is a legit questio
Convince me that The Legend of Zelda is a well designed game. The bush burning and wall bombing is unforgivable, and without it, it's too hard because of random enemy movement and attack patterns.
game came with a map, you're a babby
>>3740184
Give him a break, his emulated version doesn't have the map.Or he bought it used at any point in the last 30 years.
>>3740182
It isn't, you got memed
Which games do you really wish had been localized when they came out?
I'll start with an easy one, Seiken Densetsu 3.
>>3740141
Still not sure what the copyright issues with this were to not localize it.
I wish Terranigma came stateside.
>>3740141
Basically all the Square and Enix games US missed, like all those DQ and SaGa titles.
Guys, is this legit? it says NEW 2015!!;;):);)) and 365 in 1 on the case but everything else looks official somehow.
Bootleg of some sort.
>>3740135
Yes probably but how did they get past the marketing conflict, having same brand and console name with Sega?
>>3740138
This might come as a surprise, but law doesn't necessarily stop stuff from happening. It more than likely produced in China which doesn't care about US copyright law.
I never really got into Metroid and want to change that. I've played most of Fusion and some of Prime, but want to start at the beginning. Should I go with original or Zero Mission? Also, for Metroid II, should I go with original or AM2R?
>>3739909
Definitely the remakes
well you're going to jail if you download AM2R, so watch your back.
If you actually like to experience /vr/ games then try the original, but if you don't like icky archaic NES games that require you to draw your own maps, and you just want a quick and easy way to experience the first story, then go with Zero mission.
This game was 20 years ago, Jesus.
I still want LBA 3. Do you?
i never played this because i loved the first one so much.
>>3742456
Second one is better.
Relentless was the shit. As soon as my dos computer arrives, a small space on the 1.6 gig hard drive is yours.
Games that ruined their respective franchises. I'll start.
>now every game is a clone of Super Metroid
>now every protagonist will be effeminate
>now every game will have RPG elements
>now every game will me about 5 hours too long
>>3739602
Agree, it wouldn't be so bad if classicvania games were released alongside the Metroidvania ones.
>>3739602
>now we probably will never see another Castlevania game anyway
Feels bad man. I don't really hate the metroidvanias as much as others do, some of the DS metroidvanias are among my favorite games in the series. I think the newer 3D Castlevanias were considerably worse for the franchise as a whole.
It would have been nice if they had released more classicvanias after SOTN but in all honesty they probably wouldn't have sold very well. SOTN set a new precedent for how the series would go because it sold gangbusters.
>>3739602
good thing it's dead huh?
I'm checking out a bunch of mid-late 90s Playstation games I used to see at a blockbuster as a kid. Things like Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Crash Bandicoot, Twisted Metal, etc.
I have two questions: Is there a list of Playstation games in the long boxes? I always checked those out straightway, and I don't remember a lot of the games I looked at off the top of my head, but I could be reminded with some list.
And how well does MK Trilogy emulate? Is there an ideal emulator for the older PS1 games? I vaguely remember MK Trilogy having problems.
MKT is a fucking clusterfuck of a mess, you're better off playing MKII or UMK3. I think PS1 has a version of MKII, not sure how good it is, Midway fucked up the CD ports sometimes.
PS1 only has MK3, Ultimate was only on Saturn (and SNES/Genesis).
>>3739498
I see MK3 even had a longbox. What are the problems with MK Trilogy?
>>3739513
It has a lot of glitches, the thing is basically a romhack, I bet there's better MK hacks made by fans than Trilogy.
I come here in rage at this living Rorschach of bullshit. What the fuck even?! Just got done with the bullshit that was the 3rd rat bomb race now I have this fucking dragon dildo of an enema to deal with?!
>>3739426
Imo Battletoads Double Dragon is a better game overall. The original only has the first two stages that are actually fun.
If you're playing it on a proper CRT TV with a razor sharp responsive controller it's not that difficult, the stage is pretty short and the boss is easy.
If you beat Volmire's Disco Inferno you can beat this, no sweat.
But the bullshit in this game is faaaar from over broski.
>>3739426
Rat Race is way worse IMO, if you're having trouble with Clinger-Winger you probably just don't quite "get it" as far as the right timing for the turns. Once it clicks it's a pretty easy stage to clear without dying, certainly among the later stages.
>>3739446
Gross opinion. Go play a beat-'em-up if you want a beat-'em-up, the fun of Battletoads is the stage variety and platforming through deadly obstacle courses.
What is your favorite pinball game, /vr/? I'm a huge fan of the Crush series (Alien Crush, Devil's Crush and Jaki Crush) but 3D Pinball - Space Cadet has a very special place in my list for nostalgia reasons.
Instead of space cadet, my PC came with Pinball Fantasies pre-installed, and I loved it.
Still never played Space Cadet, but I always see everyone mentioning it.
And I love the good old Pin Ball for NES, had it on a multicart as a kid and played it a lot, although I never got too good at it. I played it again recently and got hooked, got a semi-decent hi-score and all.
I know I'm in the minority on this one but I've always liked Spinball.
Digital Pinball Necronomicon
Super Pinball
Pinball Fantasies
Sonic Spinball
Psycho Pinball
So I am new to the Interactive Fiction genre. Any idea where I should begin/best games out there?
Colossal Cave Adventure
Text only: A Mind Forever Voyaging
Visual Novel: Yu-No
I legitimately loved the Clue game Fatal Illusion
Just watched this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcXcy2b1dRM
As much as I like Amiga, the retarded decisions the company made are astounding.
I feel Nintendo will have a video like this in 15 years :(
>>3739235
>nintendo is doomed

>Obvious underage
>Waste of quads
>>3740028
My first PC came out in 1993 bub, and my first PC game was MechWarrior 2.
injoy this right now. engl. translation?
Sure, let me just look up a translation for this generic looking Japanese game for which you couldn't even bother to fucking give a name to.
No biggie. Anything for you since you asked so nicely.
>>3739207
You sure you don't want a Spanish translation or something?
There's a SFC game based on Ghost Sweeper Mikami?
How I didn't know this?
