...so, how does one create God with his own bare hands?

I believe the traditional way is to sit down and start writing.
Alternatively, telling gullible people stories seems to also work very well.

Step 1: Build a machine that copies itself with occasional mistakes, using raw metallic ores and sunlight
Step 2: Put this machine in the asteroid belt
Step 3: Wait 2 billion years
Hey /vr/
There is a guy selling a Dreamcast kiosk on Craigslist and he's asking for $1,000 bucks for it. It's in great condition but it's over 400 miles away. I have a truck so I'm not worried about how to transport it home but do you guys feel like it's too expensive? I've already contacted him and am waiting for a response but any feedback from you is very appreciated.

Not at all it will be worth a alot more im a few years
It's totally worth it. Take a nice three day weekend, bring a friend, stop at some greasy spoons on the way there, get a couple of rooms, try to bang some local bar skanks and go home and play Power Stone.
>>3732353
For that price you could buy an actual NAOMI and a cabinet for it
Post well optimized Nintendo games that run perfect with no slowdown

I like you
That... that's not what optimized means.
Before the Playstation and SCE Studio Liverpool days, was Psygnosis the ultimate example of "Style over Substance"? They made - and published - many visually and musically stunning games with flawed gameplay. Shadow of the Beast, their most popular game, is a very good example of this.
dont talk shit about wipeout or colony wars
or TEAM BUDDIES

Pretty much. Amazing art but mediocre gameplay.
Destruction Derby is fucking great though
What made this game such a masterpiece?
It was different and unique at the time
Nice trips btw

Hordes of Americans who shitpost every day how it's THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME and it DEFINED 3D GAMES and IF YOU DON'T AGREE YOU'RE OBJECTIVELY WRONG.
Recently indie games and other "arty" things have focused on gameplay being the defining part of video games as a whole, and focus on that when trying to get a message/feeling across, like pic related and other Ueda games.
But, are there any /vr/ games like that? I have really only played retro games that are fun for the scoring or gameplay or for the text based stories like in JRPGs. And I love them for that still.
Q: What /vr/ games use gameplay for more than just fun?
Atmosphere, the fruits of exploration, good story/ characters.
1.Earthbound. Not winning awards for great gameplay. But fits the bill so hard in every other category.
There are many games like this. But will draw the ire of shitlords. Games like Zelda 2, Castlevania, Getsu Fuuma Den, Shenmue. They are legendary but gameplay is not the reason why.
>>3731943
Zelda 2? What's so outstanding about it? Not shitposting, genuinely curious. I've played it and didn't think it was anything outstanding in a particular field, just a fun little game.
>>3731948
Love it or hate it. It's one of those games that people pick one side of. I liked the exploration. Some of it cryptic, but it's very rewarding. Progressing and learning new moves is great. Getting the downward thrust still gets me high. Not the greatest game play. But all the other tangibles are why I love it.
From my first playthrough I decided to go with the original Baldur's Gate 1 instead of a port to BG2 engine (Tutu or BGT).
What are some cool classes you'd recommend? Archer?
>>3731846
You made the right choice. BG1 does not have class kits just base classes and multiclassing/dual classing. Fighter/mage is fun and becomes OP in BG2.
>>3731846
I've beaten vanilla bg1 dozens of times and even wrote an FAQ on it. Also I'm a munchkin minmaxing powergamer so keep that in mind. So play with whatever you want at first to just enjoy the game. But if you want the strongest... fighters are the single best class and bows are the single best weapon. There's absolutely no need for more than one mage and cleric. Kagain as the tank for his regenerating health is the only damage sponge you need. Give him that ankh armor you can find 20 minutes into the game. Summoning spells are godlike in this game. There's no limit to summons so abuse them on bosses. So have your bow users snipe enemies while Kagain or your summons tank. Sleep, blind, etc are all good. Focus more on status/movement debilitating spells than damage ones. Bards, multiclasses, etc are better for solo runs.
>>3731846
Cleric ftw. Most OP class in the game. Cast spells in full plate, bonus spells for high wis, healing. Cleric op.
What would you change or improve that would be within the system limits?
I'd make Rue more interesting
Other than that, nothing. I fucking love this game.
I always thought the MP potions looked like hamburgers.
probably just expand on the situational utility of Mint's fuckton of spells or Rue's transformations by including extra areas and enemies.
All they wanted was music, is that so wrong?
> Get invited by humans who wish to pay you a tribute
> Come along
> Some psychopath with a whip of all things wants to kill you
> Hide in a comfy castle
> The fucker turns the whole place upside down (literally) and finds you
> Destroys an ancient castle, an important piece of architecture
All Belmonts are nuts
The peach shoguns were a parody of Takarazuka revue, wasn't it?
It could also be a parody of visual kei, the game was released in 1997, the "visual boom" was in full bloom with flamboyant bands like Malice Mizer, Lareine, Shazna, etc.
And both takarazuka and visual kei use heavy elements of western/european aesthetics, same as the peach shoguns who transform the edo castle into an european castle. (and yes, OP, that is wrong, you can't just go to Edo and turn their castle into some Disney land bullshit)
Didn't they fly a giant Peach?
Could we talk about filters? I'm using Gambatte emulator as recommended by the FAQ. I naturally would prefer to avoid filters because I'd like to keep things untouched, especially since I like pixel art and "am myself an aspiring pixel artist", sadly not using a filter looks pretty bad.
Pic related the filter I've been using so far, "MaxSt's hq3x". All the other filters also look bad so no point using them.
I'm eager to learn and correct my ways if needed, thanks for reading.

>Do you think I feel no revulsion for this form? Do you believe for a moment that our Lord would risk his empire upon an upstart inheritance?
What did he mean by this?

>"Melchiah is not depressed or downtrodden, while he originally felt that he had a poor gift: his body falling apart, he realized that he gained another. The ability to add other parts to his own, to reformulate his body as he sees fit, even being able to pass through gates and grates. With this revelation, he began a deranged journey of experimentation to prove he and his clan could become the most powerful and numerous of all."—Daniel Cabuco

I wonder if Kain or Raziel cared about the other brothers after Soul Reaver. Also I know you'll all be calling it non-canon but when between what games does Blood Omen 2 take place?
>>3731487
>What did he mean by this?
YOU, ARE THE LAST...
TO DIE
>>3731506
between Blood Omen and SR, in SR most humans besides that fortress were wiped out from nosgoth
BO2 he started to build his vampiric empire with Vorador, who survived thanks to time altering shenanigans, and then killed later by kain
BO2 Kain was still Young, Arrogant and rash towards everyone around him, mainly due to the events of BO, and it was this arrogance that caused the clusterfuck that nosgoth became and what cause him to research about the prophecy after the events of BO2, ironically it was leah's death who kickstarted this
Opinions on Myst /vr/? I've never played any of the Myst games but I'm aware they're meant to be good. If I did want to play the it which would be the best version to get?
game sucks
Myst: Masterpiece edition. Original slideshow click-to-move style is better than the remade full 3D RealMyst versions. RealMyst does have some improvements but loses some of the atmosphere and careful image composition.
>>3731493
>that pic
the bottom is original, the top is RealMyst, just to be clear
The first three games that came to mind were Contra Hard Corps, Rocket Knight Adventures, and Castlevania 3, but it definitely wasn't a phenomenon unique to Konami.
>>3731341
Gimmick!
Ninja Gaiden 3
>>3731341
Dynamite Headdy, Art of Fighting (Sega's version), Streets of Rage 3.
Most localizations from Working Designs.
Wasn't it the other way around? Contra got easier upon it's release in Japan? It was released a month later.
ActRaiser 2. The default difficulty is set higher and you get less lifes.
THE GREAT DEBATE

SOTNcause it was my first
Rondo=IV>SOTN
I don't like MetroidVania.
Going with Super CastleVania IV, I prefer the whip mechanics and the atmosphere.
The solution for cartridge based consoles is flash carts, but what about disc based systems (like Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1)? Are there viable solutions for those yet?
burning discs. rhea, gdemu, psio, and saturn usb loader.
>>3731265
There is an sd card loader being worked on for the saturn right now, it uses the back video cd add on port and apparently is very easy to use.
I use pseudosaturn and burned disks myself, the saturn's drive is a fucking tank and I don't see mine dying anytime soon.
>>3731289
the expansion bay card is going to be USB based.
