That one is a Zelda clone. The sequel is a sidescroller.

You kinda need patience and a memory pack to get through it and the sense of humor is very goofy, it might not be for you.

Is goemon's great adventure the sequel? I don't know much about this character/series

is it a good idea to store video game boxes in a closet?
my shelf is getting too small and I freed up a closet. But I'm wondering if carton boxes get too dusty or decompose faster in there
8 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>3765491
they would probably be better in the closet if it isn't damp mess. I would triple check for mold if you have cardboard boxes though. If you don't play them often, I would recommend putting them into a rubbermaid bin so if you have a flood or something your games aren't as ruined.
>>
>>3765491

Why would they decompose faster in a closet? Is the closet underwater?
And how should MORE dust than in the open space where dust enters come into a relatively closed off space?
The reason why things are always so typically dusty in closets is that they are put in there, the closet is closed, they are out of view- and therefore forgotten for months or yearsuntil the closet is opened pretty much in another context again, and then- OH These things! Look at how DUSTY they are!

Just don't forget that you put them in there and they are better in there than in the open.

Get those big plastic tubs and store them in there. I have all my games in tubs right now because I'm renovating my game room.

I bought a 22 dollar component to HDMI scaler and it's fucking garbage. Introduces all kinds of shit to the image.

Is there a website with actual good scalers/converters that don't make the image look like such garbage?

You don't need a scaler. There are pure cable solutions.

Unless you count the original Pendulums, "Digital Monster Ver. S: Digimon Tamers" for the Sega Saturn is the only Digimon game to come out before 1999. So, by default, that's the best one.

I don't like the SNES soundchip that much. It's not bad, but it often sounds muffled and muted, and it relies very heavily on horn samples that I find get obnoxious.

It also seems that a lot of the SNES music that gets championed as the best is slow, melancholy, orchestral tracks, which I think are boring and unfitting for games. Genesis music is usually crisp, sharp, and very dynamic and up-tempo.

The guy speaking in that video is also rather obnoxious.
>>
>>3765101
SNES for higher samples and more orchestral themed songs, Genesis/Mega Drive for more rockish and upbeat songs.

None of the above. Sell the X3, buy an X5, look up the X7 in six months because you can't even remember what it does that the X5 doesn't, and get yourself some good food with the money you saved.

Ok, so the discussion of CRT TVs is one I've read countless times in the past.

But what if you want to buy a 4K TV?

Now, let's first dismiss the idea that I need one with an built in upscaler that supports 240i, I will be buying a frameister upscaler for that (once the panic over the eventual discontinuation of the chip has settled).

What is the best option for a lag-minimal, good quality 4k TV for my living room if I want to avoid the CRT route?

If you don't want lag, and won't use a CRT, just use an emulator pleb.

What is the best option if i want a to make my own cab? Fighting games are my priority so i want the most accurate experience but my problem is that i am mostly interested in CPS2/3 games and both of those board are pretty annoying with the suicide and need some annoying modifications. So what are my best options?

Get a Neo Geo MVS and CPS1 and forget about Vampire Savior and 3rd Strike, PC Mame cab or one of those multigame jamma?

Fucking hell man structure your posts better.

This is probably the easiest way, as much as I hate Metal Jesus Rocks...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpUaw4cooc8

Otherwise, you need to get get a jamma harness and rig it up to a powersupply and an arcade monitor. It's way easier to just buy a Cabinet thats pre-wired so you don't electrocute yourself when dealing with the CRT.

If you want just Neo-Geo you need 4 buttons, if you want CPS2 you'll need the 3 extra kick buttons.

I prefer to lay out my buttons two rows, 3 on top, and 4 on the bottom. That way you have "standard" Neo-Geo layout, as well as standard CPS2 layout with the 2 rows of 3.

You'll need to get 2 kick harnesses for the extra kick buttons and wire them up on top of the standard jamma harness.

That's basically it.

You don't need to worry about suicide batteries at all. It's a fucking 10 minute job that just requires an extra torx bit. Replace the batteries once you get them, or just let them die and pay someone to phoenix them and never worry about it again.

>What is the best option if i want a to make my >own cab?
Don't make your own cab. Get a cheap beat up japanese plastic cab on ebay and refurbish that fucker. Get a new monitor for it.

> interested in CPS2/3 games and both of those >board are pretty annoying with the suicide
Cps2 is easy to keep alive. You buy a TADIRAN battery every FIVE years to keep them alive. Tadiran because they are the most reliable. And five years because modern batteries are manufactured without lead and cadmium so they wont last as long as the original 90's maxell batteries.

CPS3 is a bitch to maintain. Battery swapping is complicated and annoying. Best option would be to buy a hacked multicart from the darksoft dude. Google darksoft & CPS3.

>Get a Neo Geo MVS
Please do. Its probably the most carefree and fun jamma system ever. The mvs multi game carts seem to be pretty cool too. Aliexpress is your friend.

>and CPS1
Later cps1 games have a suicide battery as well. And they are fucking expensive.

>PC Mame cab
There was a mame distribution able to output the original resolution for tri sync arcade monitors. Forgot what its called. Groovy mame, maybe.

> those multigame jamma
those multigame jamma boards are total rubbish. Its emulation too. Wrong resolutions and lots of glitches, slowdown, which results in many games being totally unplayable. Stay away from these.

Why did they change her name from Tina to Terra?

I have a theory about that. I think that, since her theme is also the overworld theme, that Terra is actually the name of the world. And maybe the translators saw that the song is called "Terra's Theme", and thought that it's her name?

But that's just a theory.

Ten seconds on google showed that the song was named after Tina in Japanese
>>
>>3764284
.... OH :(
>>
>>3764268

Terra was also blonde in Japan. The point was that she was supposed to be 'exotic.' So, a Blonde woman with an American name was exotic in Japan, but clearly not in American audiences. Hence, we got "Terra" with green hair so she'd seem exotic to us.
