Is every Ghosts 'n Goblins/Ghouls 'n Ghosts just the same game with minor improvements/additions?
It seems like it.
>>3772369
they're all different games.
They progressively got worse and worse level design after every iteration.
>>3772369
There is actually a simple formula for this:
If Capcom = true:
Games = recycled
Think about it. Mega Man, Street Fighter, RE, etc.
For a long time Capcom did nothing but remake the same few titles over and over with slight differences.

Except PAL-only games with NTSC 60 hz patches are objectively superior.

People who try to use weeb as a derogation on 4chan are always funny.

What are /vr/ recommended advenutre games for ScummVM?

I'm actually playing Sam & Max Hit the Road right now. It's a lot of fun so far. Currently trying to figure out the Tunnel of Love.got a flashlight and a blacklight bulb from the office, trying to figure out how to interact with that circuit breaker
My favorite LucasArts game is Full Throttle.
I've heard both I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream and DreamWeb are pretty good. I always wanted to play the Discworld games, based on the nice cover art, but have no idea on quality.
Can we have a thread about this cute series?
My sister used to play the second game a couple of years ago when I was messing around a bit with DoxBox.She loved to strip her daughter down to her birthday suit.
>>3771165
why would you expose your sister to such degeneracy?
>>3771171
seems like an ok game for kids, kids have naked barbies all the time
>>3771171
You can make your daughter be the very opposite of degenerate, depending on how you play the game.
Which RPG series has the best elves?
Daggerfall.

Daggerfall, my favorite RPG series.
Someone explain to me why Aerie is so disliked...she's sweet.

No contest, but any twinkle star is guaranteed to be a great time.
>>3770983
What does this version do better than the one on NeoGeo?
Remember the pub in FFVII full of bald guys?
>>3770761
Yes
Obviously there'd be a support group for baldos when they live in a jrpg fantasy game where most males have hair like 80's rockstars.
>>3770874
is there a group like that irl? (I'm balding and figured I'd just go all the way)
Hello /vr/, I need your advice on something.
I loved Gauntleg back in time. I've had very fond memories and great fun with it. We'd go to arcade and shoot it up for 2-3 players, load our characters and have fun for hours. I miss those days.
I also played it at home on my own, the experience was more exclusive for me.
I'd get a nice cup of coffee and start up my n64, get comfy as hell and play it for hours again. It was pretty neat the way announcer welcomes you, the sharp cripply audio and amazing ingame atmosphere. I just miss those days but now I just don't want to rewrite my memories by playing it again.
I've tried the new Gauntlet and it just feels dull. Just can't get into it.
So I need you to recommend me some games which are about as same comfiness level as Gauntleg. I need games which would revive that warmth feeling I had with this game. Also preferably in same genre.
>>3770357
did you play dark legacy?
>>3770357
I'll proabably get flamed for this but if you want the couch co-op experience with the simple hack 'n slash and shooter combo I'm going to recommendDiablo 3onconsole.
I've had this stocking since I was a Kid is it worth anything ? can't find anything online for comparison .....

Sell your cum sock somewhere else friendo.
That doesn't help the guy It's got to be worth at least $40 ....just because it's 4chan doesn't mean you got to be a giant walking vagina .
What does /vr/ think of Armored Core: Master Of Arena?
>>3770082
Best retro AC and 9 is one of the best boss themes ever
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCt31W7yUUk
Greatest plot twist in the history of mecha games.
>>3770117
Gets even better when you realize it's been hinted towards since the first game. AC honestly has some of my favorite vidya story ever.
NES, Genesis, and Master System edition
With the advent of emulation and 100% complete ROM collection torrents for virtually every console ever made, there are no obscure games.
>>3769931
>Master System edition
Everything, but nothing actually worth playing.
>>3770123
Okay.
>games the average joe doesn't know about
>be earlier this evening
>playing wild arms for the umpteenth time in my life (first time in several years, though)
>nearing end game
>realise that i didn't get the chests in the elw pyramids that are accessible only after you get the grappling hook
>forgot which elw pyramid it was
>fly to one
>"not this one"
>"well, it's easier to warp to the other one and walk from there rather than try to fly and lose my way"
>warp to the other side
>screen flashes red
>i'm somewhere completely new and strange
>"the fuck?!"
>look up online
>"the abyss?"
>it's a completely new (to me) area of the game to play!
I now realise that, much like the hints about Angol Moa and Leviathan, a lot of the books and townsfolk in the game have hinted at this place.
What things have you discovered years later in games you've played a million times over?
I feel bad for people who use guides and walkthroughs for everything. They'll never feel this feel.
Pic related: tfw.
Grandia has a third playstation exclusive dungeon that's accessible through the desert, I don't think even gamefaqs has that one covered.

You can skip the majority of Opera House in Tomb Raider 2 with a few jumps as soon as you enter the building proper. You can also skip a large chunk of Temple of Xian due to a slope near the gold dragon near the start.
And the detonation key in Lv3? It's not needed, you can just climb up. And the two gates you have to open in Venice? Git gud with the boat and you can completely ignore that part.
I didn't discover it, but just found out about the 4-2 "wrong warp" in SMB a couple months ago and was pretty impressed

Games that decided to pull last minute bullshits on you
Pic related. Never a games changed this quick from an A+ to a C-
>Just the last boss pulls 1 hit kills
>decides not to throw enemies to grab on
>teleports to your position to telefrag you
>>3769886
You're meant to grab onto the small guys when Greedy does the black hole attack. I've never had him not drop enemies to grab on to.
Also his "telefrag" is avoided by running to the left and when he goes off-screen, counter by doing an up-right grab and smashing him as he reappears. Takes practice but easy to do consistently once you get the timing down.
Of course, he is the final boss, he's supposed to be hard.
>>3769886
>>decides not to throw enemies to grab on
This never happens.
Git gud.
The last boss is not hard at all once you learn what to do. The only thing that's bad about it is it fits the Sonic Team model of being several orders of magnitude harder than the rest of the game.
If you're fast enough you can even grab the boss out of the one-shot lightning.
Also, the music is the best.
Was anyone here alive in the 80s? What was videogames like back then?
You can still play those 80's video games.
