No. Super Mario 64 did because it set the bar too high. Every 3D platformer afterwards would be compared to it as the golden standard and seen as a piece of garbage side by side. DK64 is no exception.
Then you get shit like Bubsy 3D which only hastened the process.

It's just a label, Man. All you can be sure of without opening it up is that the place was trying to self promote. It's funny, now that my shady import shop has finally completely disappeared I kind of wish I had some of their Games On Main promo materials.

I own every game except the wing commander games. Of the games I own, I have yet to play Freespace 2 or Syndicate Plus. It's surprising that Theme Hospital is so high, it gets put into popular bundles pretty often so that might be why. My favorite game on this list is probably Might and Magic 6, followed by Planescape Torment.

Why did so many first-party Famicom games have such awful graphics? There's several hacks for pic related for example, that greatly improves on the graphics without using any extra hardware tricks not used in the original version.

Felt a bit nostalgic for PS1 and PS2 games, so I bought a Matrix modchipped SCPH-9000x, but it won't play burnt PS1 games, even when forcing PS1 mode.
Why won't they work? Is there something that needs to be done before playing them?

I have a problem. When I try to play some old games, there are some games where the code of the game doesn't seem to limit the APM of AI, or there doesn't seem to be cap to the AI. What I mean is that, I've played games with modern PC where the AI has been doing incredible sheningans, probably due to extra cycles from faster CPU I have now than 15 years before. It's not always limited to stradegy/rts games either, because I noticed this bug on game "outwars". There was one training level where you're pitted against fellow soldiers (deathmatch style), and they would swap weapons instantaneously while firing me, something I don't recall happening when playing it on "appropriate" hardware.
So what happens is since there's no soft cap, the AI will do either faster, or extra calculations with the newer hardware.
I'm fearful that the same would apply for the game in the picture, making the game unplayable if the AI can perform too many actions too fast.
Anyone have similar experiences when playing some old games? Are there any workarounds?
