Another platformer similar to Claw, similarly beautiful in art direction, and even more similar with unrelenting difficulty. Claw is more fluid while Pitfall has this frustrating delay in actions which make it even more frustrating.
You can find it for download everywhere, but unfortunately no sound or music on newer systems unless you run in compability mode for Windows 95, although this frezees up the exe, at least in my case. Which is a shame since music is awesome.

Genesis ROM works just fine, but the graphics are toned down so I opted for PC version.

Does anyone know what the PCB of this looks like, exactly? I found a few pics online, but I'm not sure if they're the China versions. I want to get one and solder a DSP-1 chip from Pilotwings to it. I would also like to know what the proper orientation of the chip is. Thanks.

Weird anon, I was just about to make a thread about the "knockoff" everdrives.
I wanted to ask is there really any difference at all between these ones and the "offical" ones , functionality wise.
I don't plan on playing anything superfx
>>2813352
As far as I know there isn't much of a functionality difference. I can't say anything about the Snes version but when I tried a bootleg Genesis everdrive it bricked itself after 2 games.
>>2813352
Pros:
-$50
-No functional difference, other than obviously not playing enhancement chip games
-It works in all consoles and plays all regions, including ROM translations
-Saves without resetting or any of that weird shit
-Can import .srm saves from elsewhere
-Can export .srm saves I believe
-You're not supporting that kike Krikz
Cons:
-No Cheats/savestates (if that's even a con)
-Supposedly lower build quality and much lower longevity (heard an anon said he went through 2 of these in a year)
-Can't (or maybe shouldn't) upgrade firmware - it can potentially brick your shit if you use krikzz' sabotaging garbage
Hey CRPG fans, I need some help.
Wizardry has always been one of those games I've really wanted to get into. I love modern RPGs like Etrian Odyssey, SMT, etc., and never seem to have too bad of a time with their difficulty.
Wizardry on the other hand, just fucking kicks my ass. I really want to start enjoying it because there are so many games in the series and a lot of fairly unique traits that I'd find right up my alley. But within like the first couple minutes of booting up, my party will just get insta wiped sometimes no matter how prepared I feel. And if I do happen to get past that first couple of hours, it's always something else that pushes me away from embracing the experience.
One of my greatest dreams on my bucket list is bring a party from Wizardry 6 - Wizardry 8. If anyone can help me achieve this, it'd be much appreciated.
Just keep grinding and reloading until you're atleast level 2

>it's always something else that pushes me away from embracing the experience.
You're fundamentally wrong son, you're literally embracing the experience, Wizardry isn't one of those games where you can blast through enemies like 90% of RPGs, you start weak as shit and you have to learn which enemies you can afford to fight and what you have to run the fuck away from for every floor of the dungeons.
Start from the classic, the PS version called Legacy of Llylgamyn is the best version available in terms of everything, the only bad thing about it is that you can't set macros like in the PC versions but all the rest is the best you can find, don't be scared by the fact that ot's JP only, it has an english language version too, it's so good that you can even freely swap graphics from the classic version to the remake version.
Wizardry IV is a love or hate and it's one of those games that are absloutely not for plebs so feel free to skip it if you get too frustrated, V returns to the classic mechanics, those 2 also got a PS remake like he first trilogy and the quality is as great as the first one, you can even change IV to play more lika a SMT game if you don't like the original mechanics, but why would you even want to do that anyway?
After those you can jump to the last trilogy, given that as you said, you really want to know what Wizardry was about.
There's also the Wizardry Gaiden games, which aren't half bad but are more rooted in the classic trilogy and don't quite follow all the new stuff that was added from Wizardry V and beyond.
Wizardry is shit, 1-5 are nearly unplayable and 6 is a mediocre cRPG
7 is kinda interesting tho
There's a reason actual RPG fans cared about Might & Magic and other better franchises
I remember playing this game at our local roller rink when I was eight or nine. It must have done a number on me because I still think about it at least once a month.

It's called Chiller.

There's an unlicensed NES game that goes for a nice price too.
Breath of Fire thread.
What is your favorite Breath of Fire and why?
2, because Katt does not wear pants and that is hot.
Actually, I don't give a damn about your opinion, but you are gonna be all about mine.

annoying faggots with shit tier opinions. I'd say fuck you for starting another e-celeb thread, but they allow multiple AVGN threads and an eternal GCCX thread so continue on with your faggotry OP/

Neat collection though.
Whats up w Johnny from Chrono Trigger? Why would a robot care about being cool?
Why wouldn't you care about being cool?
>>2819245
Because robots ARE cool.
Specially the ones that can transform into bikes.
>>2819245
But he doesn't care.
That's what makes him cool.
This is a thread for collectors. What are some nonsensical things you have bought to fuel your obsessions? I collect Space Channel 5 stuff and I bought a sealed case of 12 copies of Space Channel 5. At this point, I fear that I have more money than I have sense.
pretty sure you've got everyone beat there bud
>>2818738
That is what I figured.
>>2818685
HA! That's fantastic. whats the love interest in this game?
Found these games at a local thrift store for around $10
Did I do good?
Each or in total?
>>2818149
Total
They were around a buck each.
If you can get a game for $2-3 and you don't have it then it's fine
Is there any good reason as to why people want consoles modded to have composite RCA inputs on systems that can output in RGB?
Even the shittiest scalers and converters hooked up with RGB look better than composite.
And if it's a thing about playing it on CRTs then why not just use the proprietary cables? Are people worried they'll stop being made?
>>2817564
>modded to have composite RCA inputs
what
>>2817564
hi, i mod sega genesis systems all the time. i've probably done 20 of them by now.
in the states, most people don't know about rgb. shocking, right?
when the guy my age wants to relive his childhood games he'll typically go to ebay to find one. seeing one with direct av out will always win.
plus, the genesis doesn't do s-video stock. for those without rgb input capable tvs (like, you know, everyone in the states) it's a huge boost in quality.
Certain people like to perform cheap simple mods to feel like hobbyists. It IS simpler to just use generic cables than to fuck around with the proprietary ones.
Honestly, despite the fact that I have an RGB monitor I've procrastinated about getting RGB SCART cables for fear of getting low quality ones that I'll need to mod after spending ~$20 plus worry about the scart to bnc adapter. I should just buy some 6RCA sets and mod the consoles directly.

Cmon guys i mean how many of the sells were scams to begin with?
>>2816873
they dropped off when people wanted harder to find games and only had garbage in return
>>2816880
But what about the guy who was selling his collection that had megaman 7 and a few repros.?
I offered up Zelda:Alttp and Super Metroid for well under what ebay asks. No takers.
Hi /vr/, what are some games where after you "beat" the game, you can keep playing and there's new side quests, maybe a new overall goal, and some of the characters might address that you've completed the main goal of the game. Not just NG+ or going back and finding all the collectibles, like new challenges/quests open up.
The Pokemon games usually do this. In Gen 1, only Mewtwo's cave opened up, but in Gen 2 you had the entire world from the first game with its own sub-quests. The newer games have a lot of stuff, too.
Lunar 2's epilogue.
Gold and silver only fit in Kanto because they went back and optimized the code so well that they could afford to. It wasn't planned supposedly.
>>2814883
Didn't know that. Why'd they'd bother going back to optimize the code? I guess they wanted to improve upon it in Silver/Gold.
Megaman battle network 3
is there any way to make this game bearable? i feel bad for never finishing it since i adore i and iv
>>2813551
Git gud?
I guess that really depends on where in the game you got stuck. If you can't into the dungeons right at the beginning, then that's on you - the game doesn't really get much easier than that later on.
Some general tips:
1) Upgrade everyone's weapons and armor before you go to fightNeifirst. She'll fuck you up pretty badly if you don't, but the fight's reasonably easy if everyone's got the best armor available.
2) Save Rolf's TP for really tough fights - he's one of the better casters in the game, and being able to nuke something that's gonna kill the rest of your party is crucial - he also can get you out of dungeons and back to town with two techs, so even if you're having him blast in every fight, make sure to save the 10-12 TP or whatever it is that lets him cast Hinas and Ryuka if you're in a bad spot.
3) Until you stop dying in dungeons, make sure everyone in the party has an escapepipe and a telepipe - so if Rolf dies, they don't have to walk back to town on their own. They should also carry their own healing in case Amy dies, etc.
4) Level Shir up to 10, have her steal you a visiphone (definitely) and some shit from the shops (if you're patient). Being able to save anywhere will speed things along if you fuck up later. Just don't do this on Dezoris.
>>2813551
Like most old JRPGs, it's a chore to play. But it's also really easy if you know what you're doing. At some point you'll find items that can be used in battle to cast spells (some for healing, some for damage, some for buffs). You can give every character in your party two shields and just use those items and you'll breeze through the game without using any tp.
Use the menu glitch to get out of dangerous areas in a pinch. Just don't abuse it, or you'll be chronically under leveled.
So PlayAsia is doing some contest thing where you have to identify the games being played just by looking at a VMU screen.

You guys down for being scumbags and doing this together and beating this shit?
>>2813182
