How do I use memory cards in ePSXe? I'm trying to play persona and its just stuck at the menu trying to load a memory card.
>>2815224
use pcsx-r if you want hd and widescreen, it's better. if you want shitty quality but accurancy go with mednafen.
>>2815324
huh? is this the solution to my memory card problem?
>>2815335
That's his way of telling you he doesn't have a fucking clue. Next thing you know he'll be asking for your system's specs. There are a lot of people like that in the emu scene.
I can't think of anything obvious though. ePSXe should have two blank memory cards enabled by default. What exactly happens? Hopefully you're not trying to load an old game before starting a new one? If the game is freezing or something it could be a plugin issue. Might want to check you're using the latest version of the emulator (1.9.25) as well. If it's a bug specific to ePSXe, you could try using other emulators. Sorry for not being more helpful.
I know that PS1 controllers work on PS2s and that PS2 controllers work on PS1s.
I've heard that the Atari 2600, master system and genesis are all compatible with each other's controllers. Does this also extend to light guns as well?
What about Atari 5200 and 7800?
In this thread discuss which retro console and computers have interchangable input devices.
>>2815178
7800 has similar ports as 2600, SMS and Genesis.
5200 has completely different ports
>>2815178
God damn that is hilariously phallic. I wonder how often that was used as a dildo back in the day?
>>2815197
See a doctor at once if your dick looks anything like that.
Why has no one made a custom Chrono Trigger yet, like they did Metroid ReDesign. They could create a whole new epic story and wed all love it.
>>2815101
People did.
It was called Crimson Echoes or Flame of Eternity or some shit.
Its trash. Like bottom of the barrel garbage.
>>2815110
yeah, like this guy said. Flames of Eternity repro carts actually sell for quite a bit on eBay to retards who don't know any better.
>>2815110
why is it bad? did you actually play it, if it's got the same gameplay, battles, characters aint no way its bad
Hey /vr/, would you mind suggesting a Bomberman game for me to play? The only one I have played before was for the classic Gameboy, and if I recall had a whip? I am missing the gameplay pretty bad and would love to know which of the games in the series I should try out.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLYPp4DeAlY
>>2814541
Oh thanks, that's the one. I'll play any decent Bomberman game at this point.
>>2814554
There are bomberman games for almost every system. I would say start with the pc engine ones. Bomberman 94' was really good. Also the super bomberman games are good. Saturn bomberman is considered the defining game in the series. I really liked the n64 ones personally.
Been seing alot of threads about emulating on PSP and JXD and it makes me want to dig out my old psp 1000 and fill it up with some good shit. The analog nub and shoulder buttons suck for action based games so what are some great home releases for any system that translate well to a handheld device?
>Pic realted is the only way to play
>>2814482
Currently I have Front mission 3, and breath of fire 2 to keep me busy
This thread again. Every day is ground hog day in this fucking board.
>>2814482
I play on 2x scale or on fit smooth, if I'm feeling I'm missing something.
You're a fucking faggot if you play on 1x scale.
If you care so much about pixel pefection, more than about the handheld experience, you should play on your pc/linux ganbatte emulator tbqfh fa.m
Is there a game that's harder than the NTSC version of Battletoads on NES?
prolly any arcade shmup with 5 million loops
>>2814472
yes. just on the NES you've got Q-Bert, Arkanoid, and Ikari Warriors.
>>2814472
That's beatable?
Possibly IO on C64.
If you're just talking NES games then probably not.
Let's get us a beta thread going.
Post that beta info and screenshots.
Seriously thought, beta info is always so intriguingand also disappointing ;_;
things you can't have always seem better, somehow
When it was stilled called Zelda 64, Link was able to slash to the side while running, but would hold his ground upon hitting an enemy (still turning to follow the movement of enemy), where he would enter a dynamic attack pattern. This is a combination of The Wind Waker's dynamic swings (when Link does a twirl jump or double-hands his sword, a move pulled from the OoT beta with the bigger sword scene against Stalfos) and Twilight Princess' ability to swing while running.
I always thought this was the coolest thing, and that we missed out. But thinking about it deeply, it'a not a big deal and it doesn't really fit the game's more almost turn-based combat against enemies that use weapons.
NOW, the original Temple of Time exterior angle shot, and the ultrarealistic render of Death Mountain where you can see the shadow left by the ring plume. THAT I want back in the game.

>>2814460
Is this newly surfaced footage? I thought I know all about many, many beta elements of the game, but I don't recall seeing that alternate angle of the Temple of Time.
Is there a single SNES-exclusive game that didn't blatantly use Mode 7?
>>2814375
Mario paint, dunno if it used mode 7 or not
Gokurakuchou wa higashi ni shizumu
>>2814385
Maybe for the fly swatting game, I can't remember
ITT: Enemies who piss you off.
>>2813959
Get rubbed son.
>>2814015
>Survive RUB
>They proceed to barrage you with FIR3 and LIT3
Why do they always get a pre-emptive strike?
Post games with hidden/alternative/advanced control options.
Shinobi 3 has a hidden 6 button control mode.
>>2813584
Does it just add a block and melee button?
>>2813584
While the 6 button control scheme made playing the game better(manual blocking, sword, etc) it also made an already somewhat simple game even easier. Which is why I'm guessing they left it as a "secret".
Since I found out about it(which was only a couple years back) I only play using the 6 button configuration but set the game on the highest difficulty. It's still piss easy tho.
>>2813601
Yes.
Do you know Nichibutsu?
Nichibutsu Moon Alien 1979
Roger Dean illustration 1971
Nichibutsu UFO Robo Dangar 1986
UFO Robo Grendizer 1975
Nichibutsu Lady Hunter 1990
Was this the peak of the run 'n' gun genre?
No, it was worse than Gunstar Heroes.
>>2813306
No it was Metal Slug 3
>>2813306
the crowning achievement of an otherwise thoroughly mediocre genre

What, nothing about the music? Did people realize that both soundtracks have amazing original tunes and thus it is impossible to prefer one over the other?
I'm pretty fond of the shmup level in Gunstar Heroes.
Unless I don't have the lightning saber. Doing this level on a difficulty above normal without it (or the chaser fireball if you're really good with it) is so difficult that I just restart until I get it.
>>2812534
The homing weapons are useless on Expert mode.
>>2812718
The only good weapons in the game regardless of difficulty are the lightsaber and homing+flame.
Laser + vulcan/laser + laser master race.
