Does the AMIGA only have bad games? I never see any AMIGA discussion on here. Is this because this board is full of Americans and AMIGA was bigger in Europe? It seems like the graphics and music where pretty amazing but maybe the CPU was too slow? I don't know but all the games seem so slow and just no fun at all
I was just looking at DuckTales for it
>https://youtu.be/CgK_u8EQ-rQ
The graphics are good, the sound is good but this game doesn't look like any fun. I know AMIGA had LucasArts games. Those games are GREAT but you only need good graphics and good music, otherwise point and click adventures are really slow and don't require fast scrolling or what not.
Classics like
>it came from the desert
Look graphically impressive but gameplaywise really dull and no fun at all. I never had an AMIGA, all my friends did and still do. So I do not know too many games. Please let us discuss the AMIGA in general and it's library.

>I never see any AMIGA discussion on here
Because the burgers always ruin them.
>>4135880
amiga sucks thats why ther are no threads about it
>>4135880
So as I had predicted AMIGA was popular in Europe where people liked home computers and burgers were too stupid for home computers, would use their awful Apple II and just dick around on consoles.
Never forget that burgers had their big video game crash and crisis I had never even heard of before I had an internet connection. Europe was doing just fine.
Anyways can WE (you and I) discuss the AMIGA then? Please tell me about it.

was that a good trade?

Yes
Definitely, for Castlevania 3 alone. Not worth a thread, really.

Your dad got a bargain. He can just buy a new Zelda for less than $20. It's getting hard to find even just CV1 for that cheap anymore.

Do you live near the ocean? I guarantee that whatever country you live in the coast guard cannot patrol very kilo of shore at every hour. Just go to the beach at night and keep swimming away from the land until you get tired and drown. This method is very effective because even if you change your mind you will probably drown on the way back. If you live inland try to find a flooded quarry, the water in those is very cold and you can go into hypothermic shock and drown very quickly.

>doesn't emulate the SNES version of Eye of the Beholder on an Xperia Play
Well shucks Chuck, I thought you were a cool papa, but I guess you're just an anus.
how the fuck was sony the only company to not fuck up during 5th gen?
>>4171792
The Sony name was still worth something back in the 90s.
N64 did great
>>4171792
It didn't make hardware that was a pain in the ass and unsuited for decent 3D like the Saturn, or underpowered like the Jaguar, or overpriced like the 3DO, or using a dated storage format like the N64, but most importantly it won all of the third party devs over by being far more welcoming than Nintendo which was still in iron glove mode comparatively.
The cartridge format is really what shot the N64 in the foot. It could've been a much harder-fought battle if it hadn't lost Squaresoft and the collective JRPG genre.
What are some of the best SGB enhanced titles?
Currently been using mine to mostly play Gen 1 Pokemon games and Tetris.
>>4171586
Wario Blast adds multiplayer and other stuff if played on the Super Boy.
Space Invaders is supposed to be than the Snes port
>>4171596
Space Invaders for the GB literally contains a SNES rom as well.
If you put it into a Super Gameboy it will boot the SNES rom on the cartridge instead of the GB game itself.
Were people expecting this to be another CD-i or 3DO?
No. Most gamers at the time only knew about Sega and Nintendo and had never even heard of the CD-i or 3DO.
>>4171419
Before seeing it for real: maybe. (Sony was a respected juggernaut like Apple is today, so we hoped it would do at least better than the 3DO.)
After seeing Toshinden and the other early games: no way this can fail.
>>4171423
They weren't gamers, they were normies. All the gamers were reading magazines and thus knew these consoles.
Is there a way to know if my TV is compatible with a Famicom before buying one. It's a Trinitron KV-27v42 with channel coverage VHF:2-13/UHF:14-69/CATV:1-125.

Thoughts on LaunchBox?
Im using it to unify all of my emulators under one program. Is there anything else I should look at for this use or is LaunchBox decent?

What exactly does this thing do that your OS doesn't?
At least it does seem to support a good number of systems compared to shit like RA.
>Have no sense of rhythm
How am I supposed to do this?
On your LCD/emulator, you won't.
You don't fucking need it, it's an easy game.

Metronome
Let's have a relaxed thread about this system and its games.
Share favorite games, memories, anecdotes.
Do you remember the day you got your SNES? Was it any bundled edition? Mine was pic related.Do you remember the perfume of a brand new SNES when you first opened it?
SNES was my first "retro" console (Christmas 1999).
Wanted it solely for Yoshi's Island.
I remember being super excited reading the character bios in SSB64 and realizing there were tons of older games w/ those characters.
Mario Is Missing was an unprecedented let-down.
I didnt get a snes until 2005 with chrono trigger, dkc2, earthbound, lttp and super empire strikes back.

I see speedrunners and stuff flying through quake and I know they've modified the game a lot but I've still heard a lot about quake supposedly having really good movement, yet when I jump in quake, my direction gets locked in and I cant move the mouse while I'm in the air. Whats the deal?
What source port you be using?
>heard a lot about quake supposedly having really good movement
Exploitable might be a better word. A design flaw in the code controlling player movement means that your speed isn't properly capped each time you change direction on the diagonal.
>my direction gets locked in and I cant move the mouse while I'm in the air.
Quake doesn't lock your mouselook when you jump. Make sure you don't have any conflicting keybinds or try a different source port.
>>4170331
Once you are running at full speed, stop pressing forward and jump/strafe, using the mouse and alternate strafe to set your direction.
Practice in a map like aerowalk

Anyone know wtf happened to this thing?? It was announced back in January but haven't seen any news since...supposedly was to be released this month. Retrobit doesn't even have anything on their site for it
It's ugly as fuck anyway.
>L and R shoulder buttons mapped to Y and X face buttons

As much as I like the vertical layout of the Gameboy/GBC, that thing is way too tall for its own good and is in desperate need of shoulder buttons.

They were supposed to be releasing a Retro Bit Trio HD in May but that never happened either.
