Question for loyal SEGAfags. When Sega stopped making consoles, where did you jump ship?
>>4168032
What fucking youtube/reddit/etc hellhole did you pull this out of? PCs were invented in 2001, really? Tell me more. Where's Atari?
>>4168037
Wow you're dumb. It says 'when Sega stopped making consoles'. Did Atari make consoles in the 2000s? Retard.
Sega stopped making consoles around the time I stopped giving a shit about new console games. Honestly I don't even like the Dreamcast, 6th gen+ is practically all dead to me.
Anyone else who have grown up with the PS1 but as an adult your beginning to like the N64 better?
Growing up, I had an older brother that loved games, so I was lucky enough to play both. I played everything from Ocarina of Time and Banjo-Kazooie to Ape Escpape and FF9, and honestly, I've gotta tell you, the N64 is just the better system for me. I played both quite a lot, but I always found myself endeared towards the N64. The PS1 games always felt like they lacked color, vibrancy and humor, they were so fucking edgy and "hardcore", and they usually weren't of the same quality as the best N64 games. N64 remains, to this day, my all time favorite consoles. Not because it had a larger library, better controller or anything like that, but because it had the best games. I still enjoy playing Star Fox 64, Perfect Dark and a few others on a weekly basis. Don't get me wrong, I like the PS1 a lot, but there just aren't as many classics.
Dunno, to me it's the opposite. I was a teen back then so I had the money to play both semi-extensively and kinda liked the N64 more, but ever since I got easy access to the full library I realized there's not really a lot of stuff that interest me. Saturn is my new 5th gen waifu.
The Nintendo 64 is probably the console I've played the most, mostly Golden Eye and Smash Bros.
why do people shit on FM synthesis?
It is excellent when people know what they are doing. It got a bad rep because third party devs often would craft the soundtrack based on the SNES version. Mega Drive ports were an afterthought and the audio would be the biggest casualty, a mess of farts.
>>4167475
Because your mom is into scat
>>4167475
because they dont have a clue what FM synthesis actually is.
Obscure Japanese SFC Thread.
Anyone check out pic related?
Seems to have a modern day feel to it a la Mother/Earthbound.

Looks interesting. There's also a Playstation version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qDpocPO9ZQ
Also played this one recently...Beat it as well. Kinda moves slow and clunky. Music isn't great, but the graphics are pretty and it's interesting.
how hard is it to /vr/ in mainland China? Moving in sept for work
No copyright law so you can do whatever you want in theory.
>>4166941
do you speak chinese? i've been learning for about two years now
You'll be in reproduction cart central, so it should be pretty easy.
Games that desperately need a remake.
Why do people keep saying that the Saturn version is superior when it's got worse level design and shit water?
>>4166804
Powerslave EX proves that that game with WSAD+Mouse can still be really fun, if not moreso.
>>4166809
I think the only thing the Saturn version has going for it is prettier colors. PS1's colors were a bit more drab... But that's pretty much it. PS1 is superior in almost every way.
what teh fuck is this anyway
Who was in the wrong here?

Well, they have a point there...
Your mother for not giving you proper education.

>want to get HotD so I can buy a light gun and also play Virtua Cop the way it was meant to after all these years
>look up prices
>Japanese version hits about $25
>US version is well over $100
Wasn't expecting that. Was this game rare?
>>4165641
Welcome to your first day on /vr/! Yes you missed the boat on this stuff being cheap. Please try not to have too big a tantrum over it.
look into back up loading solutions for saturn like pseudo saturn and anticipate the satisfier loader.
also, it may just be the tv I was using at the time but I think the guns are tied to the timing standards of the game region, and ntsc-j and ntsc-u are very slightly different so I don't think you can use a jp gun with a na copy of virtua cop 2, just as an example. I noticed my shots seemed oddly inaccurate especially towards the edge of the display.
>>4165645
Why is the Japanese version cheaper, though?
I have a AR+4M, is playing that one just as good?
It's not like HotD has good voice acting (in fact it's pretty notorious for quite the opposite).
>We will never get a successor to the GPD XD that's running the latest Android and has a 1080p screen and Tegra X1 chip
>GPD will continue to make cumbersome PC handhelds with compromised button layouts due to a physical keyboard being required for Wangblows
Seriously, fuck the Win. It's barely portable and has a shit battery life. The XD was the perfect retro emulation portable and it's getting phased out for a glorified Sega Nomad.
why not just use an original PSP, anon
you can get emulators for all the major retro consoles, including n64/ps1
>>4164475
I have one. Not being able to do a proper integer scale blows and even the XD is starting to show its age.
>>4164475
Don't kid yourself, the PSP is terrible for N64 emulation.
SPORTS!!!!
Too many negative threads in this bitch! Time to talk about the one genre everyone is awkward about; talk about your favorite sports game and why.
>(Bonus points if it's fictional/semi-fictional)
>>4164263
I actually hate sports games and the like (race games are not sports games btw) but I have to say that I find the International Super Star Soccer games quite nice makes me think back to when football was actually worth watching

wind jammers is actually my secret weapon for getting people into fighting games
if you can curve the frisbee in this game, then suddenly you understand how to do those circular motions in a fighting game
whats /vr/'s opinion on starcraft remastered?
play or not play?
starcraft & it's expansion Brood War is free to play completly on battle net right now, and you can optionally pay to get the graphics updates (wont be like starcraft 2 graphics, just more polished sc1 graphics, not so pixelated) and gets released on the 14th.
will /vr/ hop onto this? will you guys stay with the original graphics? or get the visual update? btw both versions will be able to play with each other, despide if they have or dont have the remastered graphics.
example of the remastered graphics
would prefer the original graphics with a higher resolution viewport if possible
Why does the X68000 rock so hard?
>has everything consoles don't
>games perform at or better than their console counterpart, or better then that
>game already exists on console AND looks better on X68000
>countless memorable shmups
>countless arcade ports
Literal gold covered in glitter in the truest sense of the expression
Those are floppys?

5.25 inch yes.

Does /vr/ like MUDs?
Never got into them, I only knew that they became early furry havens
Every other post ITT will be about HellMOO and child raping

I have never raped anyone in HellMOO, and I think it's really kind of sad that this is what the game is known for.

Who else /Emulation&CRT/ master race here?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbybsuTN738
If you're gonna emulate, then yeah using a CRT is the best possible option you have.
Wii on CRT is pretty cool. I played Rondo of Blood on both Wii and TurboCD, and there's no difference between them other than the voice on the opening intro and no loading times on wii.
>>4147487
I just set up snes9x on my Wii yesterday and I'm pretty happy with the results. When the SNES mini comes out I'm going to try to grab one of the spare controllers to use with it, since the Club Nintendo ones from a while back are way too expensive now.
