I've been watching The Man in the High Castle and have been inspired.

But instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. I'm pretty sure in the long history of table-top gaming, somebody came out with a game about being in an alternate timeline where the Nazis won World War 2. Does anybody know if such a game exists?

First off its phillip k dick who wrote it and the guy knows his stuff. America never entered the war because fdr was assassinated and USA never recovered in time from the depression. That let Germany steam roll Europe and meant the USA was blind sided by pearl Harbor and later conquered by the axis powers. In the TV show they added that the nail developed the atom bomb first too.

So I have a morbidly terrible idea. I have an RPG group I've been playing with for three years now, and have been thinking about streaming some of our session. I was thinking the first 2-3 would be rocky, but then people would just learn to ignore the camera while we're playing.

I've been thinking about ways the audience can meaningfully interact with play, and what kind of games people want to watch.

Do people want to watch tactical combat? Heavy story? or somewhere in between?

High fantasy? Low fantasy? Sci-fi? Cyberpunk? Capes?

I'm asking all of your opinions, and "FUCK NO, I'D NEVER WATCH THAT" is both a valid and valuable answer!

You are Urist Twelfthbay, the moe personification of Dwarf Fortress. That just means that while you're a short, sturdy creature fond of drink and industry, you're also stuck in the decidedly undwarfy form of a tragically beardless girl.

That's about as introspective as you're willing to be right now, since you very nearly got yourself killed while rescuing another stranded adventurer-slash-moe-personification in the rather cluttered void between dimensions, all over the course of a few very exciting minutes. You and a few allies (of convenience) fought off Myrra, the Master of Magic and a stupidly powerful midboss, which pretty much confirms that her boss- the dark goddess Arfoire- is planning something big here in the hyperdimensional void.

Seriously, it's like you DON'T have enough to worry about in a realm where physics is apparently driving drunk as all heck and common sense is strapped to the radiator like a particularly gory hunting trophy. Survival, for one. For another, there's the fact that you've got the disembodied spirit of Gamindustri's most annoying goddess shacked up in your brain, and her very presence is enough to cause some sort of horrifying corruption.

Heck, you can already feel yourself starting to crave pudding. You've never even HAD pudding before and you're already craving the darn stuff.

You shake your head, bringing yourself back into the present. Right. So here you are, standing in the hollow interior of a small asteroid, while your allies are keeping watch and shooting the breeze up on the surface. Myrra escaped after taking a beating, and she's bound to report your last known position to her boss, so you've got who knows how many minutes before enemies start swarming this Armok-forsaken plot of land. And on top of THAT, the indigenous wildlife- those things you've taken to calling void sharks and will-o-wisps, and who knows what else- will probably come to take a look-see of their freaking own, because they apparently crave dwarf meat as much as... well, carnivores of ANY size, really.

In the face of all this potential danger, and because you've got your priorities in order, you've decided to mine the heck out of the ores in this asteroid. But because you're not a COMPLETE nincompoop, you're going to speed up the process just a little bit, by summoning minions to help you.

Alright, so maybe you ARE a complete nincompoop, because you haven't been able to properly summon /anything/ since you stepped out of known reality and into this realm.

... look, you- you just hope that there are ores OTHER than Seganium in this freaking craphole.

I'd told the rogue what happened before the big reveal so he could prepare for how his character would be when he came back. Basically he'd fallen asleep while on watch for bad guys. It just so happened the doppelganger had been following them waiting for a chance.

But yeah, is it mean to let a player keep playing their character even though it's not really then even more?

You should punch your GM in the face and burn his house down.

That is how fucked you are.

Seriously, being a single squad of Guardsmen on a fucking Rak'gol ship that has a disproportionate amount of Techno-Shamans and Abominations is being less fucked than what you are heading into.
>>
>>43880322

If the Enslavers are already on the ship then that means they've already managed to burst through some luckless unsanctioned psyker's head.

Your Librarian is Sanctioned, presumably wearing an Aegis Suit too. That should give plenty of protection. He ought to be useful in detecting the Enslavers.

Why is there random fucking skulls EVERYWHERE?

Imagine getting a ride in a Leopard 2 and fucking Hans the Loader has decorated his tank with the skulls of his enemies. You'd think that there was something seriously wrong with those lads.

Why hasn't their commanding officer given them shit about this?

Why is it only carrying one spare road-wheel? Thats highly fucking optimistic isnt it? Speaking of which, fixing those tracks looks like it would be a fucking nightmare. theres fucking riveted armor plate covering them, going to need to take DAYS to just fix a thrown track.

Speaking of rivets, WHY?!? Why is it covered in rivets? No-one in their right fucking mind uses rivets in tank construction, they make for great shrapnel and spalling for the crew. Its also no fun when a high calibre shell smacks your armor plate, and it holds, but the rivets all shear, and your armor plate is left just fucking dangling there held on by a couple of rivets.

Whoever drew the cutaway neglected to include the fuel, aside from those piddly little tanks out back, how far do they want to drive? 50km? Also wheres the fucking engine? I see something in the back that looks like a wooden fucking 4 poster bed, but no engine. Someones priorites are seriously fucked up.

At the back, left of the tank, by the ladder. What is that? Is that a kitchen? Is that a skeleton making tea for everyone?

WHY IS IT DECORATED WITH SKULLS?

Why is the tank commander poking his head half out of the turret? Does he have some wish to get a shave from a sniper?

Why the fuck are the exhaust pipes resembling a fucking organ?

The front mounted gun by the drivers spot, it looks like the guy who's supposed to be there is slacking off somewhere else, probably having a wank over one of those skulls or some shit. What the fuck is the Skull / Spider thing that is now in that room?

The drivers position actually looks reasonably sensible compared to everything else.

So, i recently tried fielding frank horrigan for the first time. Mixed results. The guy is a huge point-sink, 'you bring Frank, your strategy is Frank' kinda deal, and if you loose him youre pretty much out of the game.
I mean, dont get me wrong, the mofo can melee deathclaws and outgun full paladin squads by himself, but he is awefully vulnrable to Giant-killer weapons like Fatman heavy weapons squads or first recon lines. Plus he is kinda slow, so vertibird transport is pretty much mandatory. Good thing its a speciality of the Enclave i guess.

"Masami, Haruko. I don't want to scare you, but turn around very slowly."

I hear the familiar voice of my sister, Kaori. She very calmly and sternly gives me a simple command. I was searching for her just moments prior, so hearing her sound so deadpan is almost scary in itself.

Slowly, I turn to her direction. A part of me wants to shut my eyes tight and not bear witness to whatever terrible thing has happened. My eyes slowly come across the forms of Kaori and Julie. Both of them appear to be mostly intact.

Both of them have a kind of silvery 'coat' that has engulfed their upper half. It's like they're wearing coats of wet concrete and cement. It moves, shudders, and vibrates across their clothes. It almost resembles puddi in a way.

"Help." Kaori states very plainly, and calmly. Which is good, because Julie's eyes are wide with terror as the coat oscillates over her skin. She tries to speak, but doesn't find the words.

Haruko freezes in fear, and grips onto my arm.
With an ear-piercing shriek, she screams her twin's name.

I am Itsukuma Masami, and I think I'm going to be sick.

No! No! Can't panic! Let's just recap, real fast.

I found Mom, I found Asai, Asai is super strong, he can also duplicate himself, he can also turn into a statue at will, I ran away with Mom, I came back and found my dear sister covered in what seems to be living concrete.

Okay, now I can panic.

"Kaori! Julie! Just.. hold still! I'll go get help!"

I start to turn around, when I hear Haruko squeal.

My head snaps back to notice one of the concrete coats has grown a spike on the outside.
"Don't go, Please." Kaori grits her teeth.

This is bad, this is bad, this is bad!

>Wait! Stop! Whoever is doing this, Stop!
>Some stupid plan that will get them out of this!
>Okay, just calm down! Calm down!

what if "high" (or whatever you call them in your setting) elves are totally all about pleasures of the flesh since they just love flaunting their awesome McMansions, super duper pimped swords, and bling magic

whereas the "dark" (or whatever you call them in your setting) elves are very humble and chaste-like people, which is why they live in caves and other dreary places.

Location: Planet Afhan

Information: Daikon has begun taking steps to secure his rule and begin expansion, sending his team out in pods to scour space for suitable planets to conquer. However, there have been some problems. Bardock has been badly wounded in training, and a Galactic Patrolman was sent to the planet to fight the Saiyans. However, he was quickly defeated, and rule over the planet seems secure.

Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place shortly after the war against the Tuffles, as the Saiyans look for more foes to battle in the absence of their old enemies.

Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.

Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)

During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.

If a 100 is rolled, it is considered a crit success (unless 100 was the number you had to match).

If a 1 is rolled, it is a crit failure, regardless of whether or not the other two rolls are high enough to succeed.

If, during a battle, players want to attempt a writein action, that is allowed, but I am the one who will assign the number to it, so use caution

You're a young male Saiyan who fought in the war with the Tuffles. You are an average fighter for now, but have the potential of one of the greatest warrior races to roam the universe flowing through your veins. There is no limit to what you can accomplish through blood, sweat, and tears.

I want to make a monster for an upcoming game based on this quote.

Idea 1: A flesh monster with regeneration and absorption that slowly flesh-fuses with an opponent every round that they both damage eachother. If the monster completely fuses with the opponent before it is killed it, adds HD and flailing bladed arms to its roiling fleshy body.

Idea 2: A monster that fights like a generic demon but possesses any opponent that kills it, similar to that guy from WH40K.

Idea 3: An amorphous void-monster which attacks foes willpower. Those who succumb are fixated on the void and drawn into it. They emerge as negative energy shades. As a secondary attack, the creature can burn an opponent's psyche from the inside out, leaving a brainless husk.

I could also just combine all three. I don't want to inflame edition wars by saying the system, but if anyone cares its a level 7 DND 3.5 one shot with players who are skilled at min-maxing and character building.

What do you guys think of those? Also if anybody else wants to share concept ideas for new monsters that would be cool.

I have one problem with all of these monsters: they only become interesting once they've killed a PC. Your obstacles shouldn't only be interesting post-PC-Death. That's a fundamental flaw.

I don't think there's an active one, so here it is folks- The Civ Game! As always, first to 3-5 votes is chosen (With some discussion of course, so no shitposting anon gets to spam his way to playing whatever he wants) We'll stick to 2 actions per turn, and rolling d100s will decide efficiency of actions. Other rules will be explained as time goes on, actions will be chosen from a clear majority vote/decision. We don't have to play from the sheet, but it makes things easier for me. You could also suggest your own ideas for races/starting locations.
