WEG D6.
EotE a close second, would be first without FFG's bullshit speshul snoflake dice.
EOTE/AOR/F&D
there's also StarORE if you like ORE
Discussion of avp feats.
I'll start: predators have the ability to jump three times theit
height, when I did the math on the energy it would take to send 330-520 pounds straight up 21-24 feet, I found out predators have legs strong enough to squat between 6000 and 20 something thousand pounds. Assuming proportional strength this gives us a bench press of around 3/5's of that (3600-15000 pounds). Getting numbers for a punch force by this was done easily enough by looking at the bench press of fighters and the force of their punches in pounds. The data was pretty consistent besides a few outliers giving a equation of p = b × 5. P being the punch force and b being the bench press. Predators would have a punch force of between 90,000 pounds and 14,400 pounds. We can see them punch 800 pound enemies through several concrete walls so this is not out of line. More feats coming

underated post
Predators have routinely moved faster than the human eye can comprehend. This places there movement speed for something there size at well over a thousand miles an hour. It would hit with 22126864 pounds of force, this would atomize a space marine

I'm making a homebrew game about transhumanism. In it, transhumans are treated as classes. What are transhuman types other than genetically engineered people, cyborgs, psychics, and people ascending to a higher plane of existence Stargate style?

Anyway, you should read the Eclipse Phase books. Rules should be online free.

So, Devastation's got me wondering... any Transformers RPG systems out there? If not, I'll probably just run it in another system I like, but I'm curious if anyone's put one together, official or not.
None that I've ever heard of. You could probably Macgyver a universal system to get close enough if you cared to try. Also how good was that game? I will answer my own question: SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!
>>43883874
P. fuckin' legit
Top three for next game:
1. More baller final fight. Megs was good but we need something with more spectacle
2. UI improvements. Let me fuse/sell multiple weapons at once, maybe make the ground slam a little easier (it's real easy to accidentally dodge instead)
3. More playable bots. Maybe playable Decepticons, that'd be tight
It's not the best thing Plat's ever done but as a licensed game it's fuckin' delightful.
>>43883820
there's been a couple unofficial attempts over the years, none fully successful at pulling it off

Plagiarism for profit only works in the modern world, OP. Pretty sure Iron Age wanderers never got rich by talking shit.
What was it like playing Magic back in the early days when broken as hell shit was the norm?
>>43883272
Hard.
Some times an extra turn did jack shit for you.
I couldn't say for the 90's, but I started playing in 2002 when Onslaught block was released, and that was a good time. Great limited format, good standard, though I was young and not very bright. Then Mirrodin came out and pretty much shat the bed.
The price of singles seemed to skyrocket, my silly cleric tribal was being blown out of the water, the block and type 1 banlists threw everything out of whack. When Kamigawa came out I quit because it wasn't fun anymore, and I was being blown out by no-banlist affinity all the damn time.
I've played magic on and off, and while I would never shell out the cash to really get into it (I basically just play casual modern), I really love the mystique behind the older version of the game. Now, it just seems like tryhard insanity, I'd imagine back when one mana could net you a three card draw (or your opponent, what the fuck) the game itself was more lighthearted.
Used to have a box full of (mostly black) revised cards, sold them off but I'm kicking myself a bit for it. I never really played with them, but it was nice to be able to have a piece of history.
What are some settings/systems where I can "nothing personal" people.
>>43883120
The quote is "nothing personnelle." Get it right.
Wild Talents
Also, it's personnel.
Nothing personality?
what system would you run it in? iron heroes sounds pretty good, but i dunno if there would be a better system to run a VP-themed game in.
>>43883006
Wait, is this the same franchise the current Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid anime is from? Or is the reference to Valkyries pure coincidence?Kasumi is best girl, just sayin'
>>43884968
One has nothing to with with the other. Valkyrie profile is about being a valkyrie and recluting dead warriors to make them eiherjar to fight in Ragnarök.
For people that missed the boat on playing this, what is the game about?
Checking out the game's wikipedia page doesn't necessarily mean we'll "get" what makes this game feel like Valkyrie Profile and what you would need translated to a tabletop version.
Hey everyone, i recently downloaded some of the books for the star wars RPG, I've been meaning to play it for a long time and with the upcoming release i thought it was the right time.
im not brand new to star wars, i have seen the 6 movies a few times, and I've played Kotor 1, but I'm completely lost on the expanded universe.
I'm planning on running a game soon and i was hoping you guys could dump what you know? maybe help me out?
I'm extremely interested in the with because the players are going to be unknowingly working with the sith, and about training jedi/sith because they're going to be doing a short training arc.
any and all information will be useful if you would please. thanks.

Good news, Disney completely removed that and replaced it with nonsense, bullshit and PoC.

I'm trying to create a homebrew race of weird beings that look like pic related. I have no idea what to call them yet nor where to get more pictures, but I really like the basic look.
I'm thinking their abilites could be something relating to extreme animal abilites; like resistances to the elements and magic, perhaps also an immunity to poisons or disease. Natural claw, horn, and fang weapons, maybe even a bladed tail?
What would you do with these things?
>>43882713
What does the rest of the setting look like?
Are these things running around with Tolkieneque elves and dwarves?

>The primary reason the most popular games such as 40k or MtG on /tg/ are popular is because they appeal to the lowest common denominator
just how true is this?
Appealing to the lowest common denominator is the only way to stay in business, unfortunately.
No, it's because of how old they are and luck.
>>43882711
It's because they are THE name brand of their respective fields, and completely dominate the scene due to their popularity. Therefore, more people are going to talk about them, because more people play it.
More people play it because it is more popular, therefore they are at least going to start with it as it's the easiest to get into.
People stick with it because it's what they started with, and they've invested a lot into the game, and they don't have to constantly worry about the size of their community just suddenly disappearing (no matter how much us 40Kfags bitch, GW isn't going anywhere for a while unless they dramatically accelerate undercutting long-term growth for short-term profit), as well as the ease of getting a game for them to play.
Combine this with the fact that there is an incredible amount of lore and fluff for people to dig into, and you've got why they're popular. Popular things are popular for a reason - they're doing something right.
>Largest army or Longest road?
>red white blue or orange?
>Also got any bricks? I'll give you some wood
>>43882708
Serious question: What's the draw of a game that tries to appeal to people who want to "settle?" I hear about it enough that it must enjoy SOME popularity, but nothing about it seems the least compelling. So, what's it all about?
>>43885419
It's mostly a party game for when it's late out and you and some buds are in the woods. It's good for people who like making plans, doing trading or building stuff, dicking people over, or are just fans of Oregon Trail. Also it has a crap ton of expansions and offshoots, so people can have whatever they want.
>>43885419
It's a game where friendships are broken and life long rivalries are born.
Also, white is right.
