How many beers could your last bbeg down before he got drunk?
>>43893256
arbitrary large number
>>43893256
An infinite number because I doubt undead can get drunk.
>>43893256
Well he's a lich, so... All of them?
What's the game you're itching to run, but can't for whatever reason?
Maybe your group is a poor fit, maybe you don't have the right system for it, or maybe the effort of researching and running it; none of that matters. Share your dream game here!
A full Burning Empires campaign.
Monsterhearts.
I fucking love shitty teen romance melodrama, but no one I know shares this tragic affliction.
*sighs audibly*
A conspiracy game that jumps backwards and forwards throughout time, with the players handling a mix of generations of the same bloodlines and/or powerful immortals.
Tragically, I'm the only fan of Mummy: the Curse in existence, and the pitch reminds people of how shit Assassin's Creed has become.
What is this for.
Don't lie to me.

For sexual. Like everything else.
Playing 2HG mtg.
To generate a random integer between 1 and 30, inclusive.
What tools do I need to design my own games? Deliberately vague -- I just want to see what suggestions I get. I have my own brain to start with, thats it.
What do you suggest?
>>43892498
Well I would suggest you start by acquiring a body and its attendant appendages, those really do help when designing most anything.
Joking aside, you should begin with a few questions; what kind of game am I making, and what genre/setting am I making it for?
Once you answer that you can get a little more detailed, concise list of materials and tools. I mean, making a card game or an RPG may be similar and have similar tools available, but a card game and a tabletop wargame will use different tools all together.
A concrete idea of what you want your game to be.
>>43892498
Friends.
Seriously - to get a decent game you'll need to playtest it a lot and get the kinks out. Best way to do that is to play the game. A lot. And with people who aren't afraid to say what they think about the results.
I am presently a PFRPG player with a shit-ton of experience going back 33 years. What is there in 5E that would make me want to try it?
No edition wars, seriously, I want you lot to sell me on this game.
Pic related - It's what I want to try.

I'm just waiting for this book to get scanned
As someone who switched, here's what I like about it.
>lacks the bloat that Pathfinder currently has
>backgrounds make it easier to fluff your character out and gives them access to some nice background skills
>skills reworked so that a fighter with 8 int isn't a retard who can only do one skill
>full attacking doesn't require you to stand still anymore
>casters can only maintain one concentration based spell at a time, and getting hit can cause them to lose it
>less focus on magic items, and PCs can't craft them nearly as easily
I think I still prefer 4e to both of them, but 5e was a pretty easy sell to my Pathfinder groups.
Join Chaos, Brother Ultramarine. Come fight for the God of Order.

It's chaos. it doesn't have to make sense.
I'm building a Narset, Enlightened Master EDH deck, what cards should go in it?
Blue, Red, White, and Colorless noncreature cards might be a good fit?
>I'm only about 50% sure this is where this thread goes
It's fine for it to be here, but if it had just been a post in EDH General (>>43876387) you would have gotten more responses.
(And you wouldn't have killed an old thread)

Extra turns, extra combat phases, some decent mana rocks and Land destruction
Alright guys, I've always wanted to get into 6 or 10mm gaming. I really enjoy the scale.
I was deadset on moving forward with DZC, follow by DFC, but recently GW announced they'll be supporting Epic again.
Now I'm thinking I should start buying up Epic models and getting my feet wet with that game.
I'm a huge fan of the 40k universe and already have 40k and BFG collections. How do the systems compare? Is it worth getting into both, or choosing one over the other?

MODS
Ironic shitposts are still shitposts anon
Short, rules-light, flexible RPGs. Preferably 4-pages or less, but if the rules are really light (or if all the extra pages are taken up by the spell list or whatever) more is acceptable.
>>43890714
>>43891324
I'm not looking for one-shots, I'm looking for workable systems for rules-light games.
>A rival party that is much more efficient at getting shit done than your group is stealing all your work
>They are always there before you, citizens and important folk alike say "Sorry, those other chaps already took the quest..."
>You arrive at lairs, dungeons and tombs, only to find them already cleared out
>The BBEG was killed months ago
What does your party do? How would they likely react? How would you deal with the competition?
>>43890564
Be glad that they're so efficient, settle down and tell the GM to call us back if some other big bad shows up and kills this super efficient party.
>>43890598
Let's say the objective of the game/campaign is for you to deal with your competitors.
How would you go about it?
>>43890649
That's a really fucking vague question.
I deal with it in whatever way is most appropriate for the situation.
It's 2015, but the Internet was never invented. More specifically, there is no civilian network of personal computers.
How did this come to pass? What is this world like compared to our own? As thanks for participating, have a Chinese sunrise.
>>43890412
How would it come to pass? Cold War never ended, it remained military tech for communication.
As to how it compares, probably similar to Fallout but with a lowered tech level
>>43890488
>As to how it compares, probably similar to Fallout but with a lowered tech level
Never played. tl;dr?
>>43890412
No furries, for one.
In the duchy of Starfall, there is a forest, old and nameless.
In the forest there is a town, Glen, whose name is much, much older than the town, yet not nearly so old as the forest.
And in Glen is the Dungeon.
There is no other name for it, though academics snap and snarl at the inaccuracy of it. The Dungeon is ancient, and vast, and ever-changing. It spans miles beneath the earth, in labyrinths and caverns, with rivers, cities, and would-be nations within its depths. Ever since humanoids discovered the Dungeon they have used it as a dumping ground for the things they would prefer to forget, but that is not all it is; ancient things move down in the dark, and its secrets - and opportunities - draw thieves, academics, sorcerers, and glory hounds alike. If one is brave, lucky, and vigilant, one can make one's entire life from the Dungeon.
There is a polite knock, on your inn room door in Glen. The Unlucky Bastard inn has been your home for the last twelve hours, but now it is time for you, too, to enter the Dungeon.
"Just need your name for the records," the voice on the other side of the door says, politely.
"I'm..."

Proxies. What do you guys think of them? In casual, should you allow proxies in your deck? Are there limits?
Personally, I'm debating bringing up proxies. I have two BW EDH decks, but I don't want to buy a second copy of two or three cards that are already in one deck. Would you allow someone to proxy a card that, except for finding/changing sleeves/shuffling, they have?
What about cards that they just don't own, but might in the future?
>>43890144
In my EDH playgroup you are allowed to proxy any card you already own as many times as you want.
So for example I can run Gaea's Cradle in all my (green) EDH decks because I own one.
We don't allow proxies you don't own because it ends up with one guy bringing a black deck with Nether Void, Chains of Mephistopheles, Tabernacle and The Abyss.
>>43890387
Also, a guy who got his entire EDH collection stolen has been playing proxied versions of his decks for a few months now, gradually removing proxies as he adds cards to his deck. Any time he wants to add a new card to his deck he has to take out a proxy.
