Want to look into traveller. What are the big differences between the various versions? I would appreciate some depth in answers.
>>43872250
Come the fuck on, Virt.
Traveller too? Do you not have a job or something?
>>43872135
OP again,
The GURPS version isn't out of the question, though I'm really not very familiar with GURPS.

Thanksgiving was two days ago dude.
It's Saturday now.
So I've decided to jump into the world of game building. I'm presently working on a tabletop based around high-fantasy gun play. However, I have no clue how to make a gamebook. I do understand that I can convert word documents into pdfs, but I want to strive for quality. I've done great at writing up all the text into .txt files, I'm not sure whats the recommended program to slap all of that into. Does anyone here mind sharing some of their rule book generation wisdom with me? My players would love you for it.
OpenOffice/LibreOffice and MS Word can all save in PDF format natively.
If you're looking for typesetting advice, look up a guide somewhere online about typesetting books.
>>43872085
Wow! You really know your stuff. I suspect I have a lot more writing to do, but I'll definitely follow your directions. I'm downloading Open Office right now. Thanks for the help!
Please do not use an office suite if you are striving for quality.
I heartily encourage using LibreOffice over MS Word though.
You could use professional publising software like Adobe Indesign.
I would personally recommend using LaTeX, and LuaTeX (or XeTeX) in particular for the font support.
(hits Russ with newspaper) Bad Russ, heel, no cookie for you
>>43873308
hahaha you made my day anon
>>43873308
That was quick, made me laugh too
>>43871857
Heeeeeeeeereeeeeeee eeeeeeeeereeeeeeee weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee gooooooooo agaaaaain
Hey guys look, that freaky fish guy is back. and he is apparently 100% immune to anything I think
Why don't they just put "Win the game" on it.
>>43871074
On my turn I set Nightmare Penguin.
>>43871113
cause the wording is VERY SPECIFIC
specific things can still fuck it over
So I watched Tolarian community colleges commander "is it worth it"
And he showed on amazon that you can buy these decks for as low as $20. ($30 average)
So I went onto amazon, looked up the decks, and saw pic related.
Can someone explain to me how this shit works? Is it a Canadian only thing? There are hundreds of sellers charging 100+ per deck. It seems like one big joke that the whole internet is in on.
Are these people just preying on old moms and dads who don't know any better?
Where do you guys buy your cheap sealed product from?
Seriously, my brain fucking hurts.
I'm not even trying
I typed in mtg and this is what comes up.

>CURRENT LOCATION:
TELEMATHA // UNDERGROUND // AQUACADENS CITY // THE ACADEMY
You were now a gladiator of the city of Aquacadens, it was true that you were fresh blood and that your only victory didn’t proved much but still your past actions and legendarium boosted those acts and made you have a greater regard among the fellow Telemathans.
Once the armored limousine that was transporting you all reached the interior of the Institute you all entered solemnly. The already existing members of the Coven reunited in the main hall while you were dismissed in a somewhat rude manner and asked to rest in one of the upper rooms while they debated if you had to be included or not.
The Coven was a select group of Magii that had studied in the Academy you are at right now. This teaching school seems to be pretty select when it comes to choosing students and thus the Coven were only made from the elite of the elite. You were an intruder, an outcast. Even if you had been born on Telematha you weren’t taught in this Schola and thus they are pretty reticent of accepting you, even if doing so would mean a great boost of resources and contacts.
>>43870866
You disliked them, they were rude and completely ignorant and out of touch with how crude reality was. They had always been surrounded by a bubble of protection; this made them feel both superior due to their status as Magos and also completely untouchable. There were two Magii among those that you despised most, those were Magos Artisan Hellenica and Magos Biologis Axsiselios, the ones who apparently created and installed the Soul generating chip that was deeply lodged into your grey matter. Those two were married and the sum of their combined intellects spawned a diabolical entity that could trigger a daemon and chaos filled apocalypse at any time.
Sluggishly you ascended the stairs and entered inside the first empty room that you saw. You ignored all the blueprints, scrolls, books and notes and simply fell on the bed, who cracked under your heavy weight and wasn’t big enough to completely accommodate your big frame. Honestly, you were tired, you didn’t had any time to rest since you had returned to your world and your stamina levels were now reaching pretty low levels. Maybe you could sleep for a while.
What will you do?
> Tap into the system and try to hack your way into the cameras and the microphones of the building. Try to spy on their conversation.
> Contact your personnel; see if they have made any new discovery around the city.
> Sleep for a while, you need a good rest.
>>43870881
> Sleep for a while, you need a good rest.
How does /tg/ like this thing? Sounds like a fairly flexible and nice-flowing generic system. The implied setting is a bit stupid and it doesn't seem like the setting books would ever be released, but as a mechanic, it reads nice.

Thanks. I gotta get to my weekly game here in a few minutes, but I'll give it a once-over when I get home.
Let's suppose, for a moment, that fauns were capable of settling down for long enough to build a city whilst otherwise retaining as much as possible of their original culture (I mean, they'd have to figure out that growing one's own grapes is easier with permanent settlements, right?)
How would a fairly large/central faun city look? Their capital, or something like that?
>>43870493
Maybe one of those natural JRPG cities? Thick, fast healing trees that function as city walls. They could probably double as apartments.
Roads would look like animal trails.
Would it feature lots of rivers?
>>43870493
The place would reek of pussy and cum.
>>43870522
>Would it feature lots of rivers?
Where else would they be keeping the nymphs?
You must now make a setting based on art of what late 1800s artists thought the year 2000 would be like.
Morning /tg/
This is my drama dice
I use it for big, dramatic, life or death rolls
Do you have any gimmick dice?
>>43870058
I feel there should be some way to incorporate a magic eight-ball into our games.
>>43870097
I only use it when GMing
And by gimmick die, I literally just mean anything you use for special occasions.
Unique colors, that kind of thing
>>43870097
Wow. You're a fag.
If you're worried about someone trying to cheat with a spin down, you're playing with the wrong people. And, if you're not looking at the die when your roll it, it's suitably random.
Oh, I just realized you are a tripfag. That's pretty lucky, because that means I won't have to read any more of your posts ever again.

on the down side: humanity is nearly extinct, we live in claustrophobic bubbles and are monitored constantly
on the plus side: 3 breasted hookers!
You are Jareth, Disciple of Elshhu and accidental destroyer of the livelihood of one unfortunate diviner. Apparently your vague request that the diviner tell you the identities of your enemies was enough to trip off some sort of violently explosive response, which has reduced half of the diviner's shop to a smoldering ruin.
Fortunately you did manage to get yourself, your sister and the diviner out of the way before you became a part of the charred remains, though right now Veleska doesn't seem overly appreciative of the fact.
“So that's not normal, huh?” Rihara asks, brushing some ash off her shoulder as you help the diviner to her feet.
“Fuck no that's not normal. How would I ever do business if that was normal?” the diviner frowns, sweeping hair from her face as she tries to blink away the spots.
“That right there was some bullshit grade counter-divination murder magic. Even the guilds usually just slap you with a migraine for a few days if you try to snoop trade secrets, whoever that enemy of yours is, he's a psychotic asshole,” Veleska grumbles, picking her way back across the charred tiles to where she was sitting, the cushion having utterly evaporated.
“You find out who the enemy was?”
“No, and I'm never looking again. Most people just come in here asking about their asshole boss, or the guy who's banging their wife. Not murderous archmages,” Veleska continues, picking through the wreckage gingerly, fishing out an amulet, the gemstone at its centre splintering into shards as she lifts it, the diviner tossing the chain aside with an unhappy sound.
“Now I feel kind of bad, you think we should do something?” Rihara whispers to you, as the two of you watch the diviner pick through her scorched belongings.

Dicemasters thread? I mean yeah I don't think I actually know other people who play it other than the fellows who introduced it to me but it's entertaining enough.

I don't know but something tell me that Wizkids and other companies have certain bias for Marvel. now the question is why?
also what do you expect of the TMNT set since it will be released as a "closed" set like a LCG, could be said?
Your armies are victorious, marching through the capital's streets while your defeated enemies lay dieing and lament their fate. After all these years of struggle your triumph could not be more total.
