Hey, don't knock until you've tried it.
Yes, some companies make nude 28mm models. Hasselfree has a bunch for example.

...Is that person in the coat at the front headless?
I was born with a special power. Growing up, I was always stronger than all my classmates at the fighting academy.
I took part in a huge war, were I lost part of m ear, and... during the final battel, against our greatest foe, I was turned to darkness, and killed my best friend.
I stare out over the ruined city, thinking about all the things that are best in life; bein badass, motorcycles, killing, death, punk rock, skulls, darkness, hot sluts with big tits, nine inch nails, and, of course... purple.
I light up an e-cigarette, because smokers are jokers, thinking back on my fondest memory, when I killed Kevin Robinson. What a fucking poser.
I even had a snappy one liner as he lay, screaming at my feet, while his blood stained by shoes a wickid red. "Why?" He'd begged me to know.
I just kicked him in the head, snickering to myself, "Psssh... nothin personnel... kid." I'd told him. But that's enough reminescing... that shit's for megga ass-faggots, no matter how hardcore it was. I gotta jet.
I take off down the hill, got places to go....

So my character is establishing his own thief guild in a major city, its outside the main walls in the less that prosperous areas, but it means that there is only minor competing guilds around to contend with.
Plan is to build up my forces and muscle in on the other minor guilds turfs and in the end take them over.
Due to the guilds current size aswell as a very strict and harsh law in the city, I have been focusing on providing a illegal gambling den and brothel for merchants and middleclass. Its somewhat safe and pays the bills. The laws are rather draconic so if you get caught pickpocketing you loose an arm, so anything worse or similiar activities is quite risky for a small guild.
Any suggestions for a "safe" way to get some income flowing in? I am considering fencing, loan sharking (might work well with the gambling I provide inhouse) or even a protection racket (could be risky though, having the locals turn against you)
Other than that, any other ideas is apreciated. Secret handshakes, call signs.
The other characters only think I am running a lowly tavern and would not deign themselves to drink at my establishment.
Reminds me that I have not cone up with a name for said establishment.

The Raven's Nest
Ravens have habits of gathering shiny objects, they also memorize where other ravens hide food and steal it when they are unguarded

So I would steal from the other theives guilds
Stealing is a crime
But stealing stolen loot isn't a crime
Just do it to smaller guilds
Loan Sharking is definitely something every organised crime syndicate should be doing, and is doing IRL.
Also contraband trading. Be it drugs, weapons, illegal books, embargoed trading goods, magical items. It doesn't need to be outright illegal. If there's a significant tax on it, you can undercut the legal competition.
Secret Handshake: If you make eye contact with someone and suspect they are on the insight, you tap your left leg with the pinky and ring finger 3 times.
That way you can establish contact across a public room or market place, and onlookers or tails will have a hard time figuring out that anything happened, and even if they do, they won't know who the sign was meant for.
If there's danger, you tap your right leg instead.

Yep. That's a tree. Good job OP.

I fucking hate trees of life. Why never rock of life?
I'm homebrewing my own LoZ RPG and would love some ideas from you.
Main Points:
1. Heavy focus on grid, combat-as-puzzle type of game. The GM puts the map much like A Link to the Past on the table, with moving traps, pits, switches and crates alongside foes.
1.1 Because of that, I envision a combat similar to D&D 4E, with maneuvers that pushes, slides or have AoE.
1.1.1 This maneuvers are learned through the game, either by leveling up or by sidequests.
2. Group can be of any "major" race from the franchise.
2.1 Each race is governed by a Virtue (Power, Courage, Wisdom) and each race can choose from 3 archetypes, each archetype ruled by another Virtue. So a Goron (Power) Alchemist (Wisdom) is different from a Zora (Wisdom) Guardian (Power), even though both have 1 Power and 1 Wisdom.
My main concern is that I haven't chose the resolution mechanic yet:
1. I could keep myself in the safezone, d20 (or 3d6) + modifiers vs Target Number.
2. I really wanted to do something that recalls the Triforce, so I thought off:
2.1 With 3d6, but each d6 represents one Virtue (Power, Courage, Wisdom) or;
2.2 Using d4, since its pyramidal shape remembers the shard of Triforce. This way I could go on dice pooling, one d4 for each Virtue.
I'm having doubts about skills. I could go almost freeform (call a Virtue and how it can be used to fulfill the challenge - you could use Power/Courage/Wisdom to jump a pit based on how well you can convince the GM to allow it) or allocate skills to each Virtue (Athletics to Power, History to Wisdom...).
About weapon and armor, everyone can use anything, for simplicity and since I never saw Link learning the basics of anything - only advanced maneuvers, that are already covered on the main points.

I'm aware, but found the system to be unnecessarily complex.
It all comes down to implementation, of course, but as a player, I'd be a bit put out by having 3 choices per race. My opinion would be that it would be better for designer and player to have, say, 9 global archetypes, than 3 archetypes times the number of races, from here until forever. If you have a feat, skill, or powers system, you could stick racial exclusives in there, without essentially saying that no Deku, Zora, Hylian, or Twili could ever pursue alchemy.
D4s are some of the least fun dice to roll-- they're called caltrops for a reason. They also aren't very volatile, so they're not particularly exciting until you're rolling a handful of them. 3dX could work, but what sorts of mechanics were you thinking of spinning out from each die being its own Virtue?
Hey, /tg/, I'm thinking of opening a game store, but I want to do something unique, offering things that nobody else does in my area, like airbrushing supplies, not-GW games (rare as shit around here) semi-obscure terrain (laser-cut buildings are near-impossible to find without ordering online here, for example), an RPG section with all the goodies we see here all the time, a big central gaming table for everyone to use for whatever they want.
Painting workshops could be organized, Game nights for anything from Warhammer to FoW to RPGs and so on; plastic modeling could be not just limited to gaming models, but I could also offer historicals and photo-etched improvement kits, that kind of stuff. Hell, I could also offer cosplay stuff for the occasional project.
Basically, what I want to ask is what you want in your LGS? What is the ideal store that you would visit just for the pleasure of seeing all the nice stuff, meeting nice people and playing games?

You will fail. People stock GW and D*D and MtG not cause they lack imagination, but cause it's the only shit that moves in bulk.
>>43887393
sure as sure. I can't stand foul odors. In any case, the fat, smelly meckbeard is not really a thing around here.
I new to Warhammer.
Do I buy metal stand or do figure come with?
>>43886957
All models come with a plastic base, Flying models have a very high plastic stand that doesn't look as good as the pic you posted, but does it's job in keeping the model stable.
As long as the size is the same you can use whatever base you like, but i think metal stands are a big money sink unless you build for display only.

Have you ever had to do something in game that you didn't want to do out of character?
I have a pretty solid group. Been playing for years now. Like the gang quite a bit. In our current campaign, we are similarly bros, and my character genuinely believes in their character.
Then I found out from an NPC that when I was sleeping one night, they went out and committed genocide for loot. Legitimately cut the throats of every man, woman, and child in their sleep. For whatever gold they had on them. And never told a soul. I even verified the NPC's claim magically.
In character, I can't overlook this. Not morally. In fact its my public responsibility to administer the law. Obviously death is the only option. They're too powerful and too dangerous for exile- or even direct confrontation. But I'm absolutely sick about it... I believed in you guys... and I've known you long enough OOC to know you aren't That Guys... so I don't understand why... I thought I knew you.
Its just surprising because it actually upset me IRL. Like I'm genuinely sick to my stomach at the thought of killing my IC friends. One of them even spent hundreds on a present for an NPC... I don't understand.
Anybody had experiences like this?
I think you've been taken for a ruse, friend.
That seems strangely sudden, you should verify this. Hard. Like investigate the shit out of it. Your final resort should be to kidnap each of them, and wearing a mask and magic voice changer thing, interrogate each one. See where the stories don't add up and go from there. Last but not least, check yourself. Maybe someone's mind controlling you so you'll flip out on your party?
Oh and if you find out that they really did commit genocide, make sure theygeeettttttt dunked on!!!
>>43886964
GM already verified that they bluffed (and failed) me. NPC cleared sense motive. Magical verification backed it up too. I don't have the resources to even mount an effective direct confrontation, much less independently kidnap them with successful restraints and without arousing the suspicion of the other. There's only so much I can do at this level to investigate this. If I can get one helpless, I plan to interrogate, but... the thought of running my sword through their heart just breaks mine.

So my Dungeon Master, through several strange events, replaced my Human Fighter's right arm with one made of Black Adamantine. It's basically a blank canvas and I have no idea what to do with it. Looking for some suggestions/related experiences.
He also replaced my leg with an Umber Hulk leg. Just because he could.
Did he replace your little brother with an Iron Golem, too?
>>43886352
No, but he replaced my Paladin buddy's arm with a Balor arm that's going to slowly change his alignment.

So, can we get a thread for first timers or your first time gaming experiences? I'm just starting my first pnp RPG. And my god is this shit fucking confusing. I had thought "it's just imagination, can't be that hard", but holy fuck I don't know about other systems, but Pathfinder is rough. I've got feats out the ass with no idea what to pick, skills and ability points, various ways to determine ability points, it's just a mess for me. Thank god I've got a dude helping me through this shit.
And looking through character sheets for other systems, it looks just as complicated to me as this one. Pic related. It's how I was just trying to comprehend this shit. And for pathfinder I was just going by the core rulebook. Much less all the third party races, feats, and all that shit.
And people think Path of Exile is complex? Fucking character creation in this game is more complex than the entire skill tree in that game. I was spoiled by video games and I'm really fucking feeling the burn trying to get through this.
>>43885382
Pathfinder/ D&D is a complicated system for a newbie.
I usually make new players spend the first few sessions under the table sucking everyone's dicks until they get used to how the game works.
>>43885391
This. This this thisthisthis.
D&D/Pathfinder has a lot of exposure so it tends to be nearly everyone's first system, but it's status as "newbie friendly" is total shit. Whether you think the system is solid or broken, it is complicated as fuck. Also, for some reason D&D/PF is fucking inescapable; every system has its diehards but I don't think any other has such a large percentage of its playerbase that refuse to try new systems.

How do you feel when the DM uses abilities outside the rulebook?
We fought a villain who has the power to kill anything. Including concepts, such as the possibility for defeat as it pertains to him. He also killed his own death, so he was immortal, and could not kill him.
>>43884719
You're fucking with us.
Make sure your GM is actually clever and doesn't just think they are when you agree to a Jojo's game.
>>43884719
He killed the concept of his own death, but did he kill the concept of his own aging, dismemberment, and dissolution as a being? If he killed death as a concept that pertained to him, would he lose his ability to kill concepts?
