Yeah, that sucked. Some party members receiving an arbitrary disadvantage at character generation was a legacy mechanic from a time when game design hadn't progressed as far as it had now. We can't blame the games of the past, they didn't know any better, but we can move forward and get rid of such things wherever we can.

I know and accept we're going to be nerfed and will also be less beast-focused I'm just hoping they don't go too overboard with it, what we saw of cryx left me optimistic about the changes though and it'll be nice to be rid of the shitters that only wanted to play the overpowered army

I want to say that there are aspects that show a distinction between just an "okay" player versus a good one. I want that, because it implies that the vast majority of players aren't awful, and that we don't just see people who aren't awful as very good players.

The problem is that I cannot. There is no such that as a sign of a good player. There are only players who don't have red flags.

Depends what you mean by all-human. Most settings have some kind of animal or plant besides humans.
If it's "non-humans are strictly NPCs", then that shouldn't be hard to do well, but you've already decided that any example I can give is not good enough so I won't bother.
