The ships of the Union picket force rocket through space towards the advancing hive fleet, the shimmering globe of Path glittering behind them. Something skims the sensors for a brief moment, its presence masked by its speed and size, and before it is possible to react a chitinous ferrous slug slams into the aproaching Union picket force, bouncing off the corvette's shields as it flickers and dies from the impact. A second shot shreds the shield cap of the ship like tinfoil and spilling a cloud of gas and water into space like a bleeding animal. Debris scatters out as the strike craft spread out, scattering in all directions as they move to intercept as missiles unload from their hulls.
Vibrant flashes fill the void of space, and a moment later a new fleet opens fire.

How do you like your undead?
On the scale from "Tortured slaves of darkness" to "Just immortal people that look gloomy"
I suppose it depends on the undead, there's gonna be some difference between a ghost, a vampire, a lich, etc.
I trend towards them being assholes, though. I really like the standard lich tropes of super ambitious spellcasters trying to cheat death.
I go with a sliding scale. Cheating death is very difficult.
If the spell to get death to ignore you goes correctly- Highlander
If it goes wrong- Zombie
If it goes very wrong- Trapped inside your own corpse feeling everything till the final piece of dust returns to the elements. Thats why wizards like to be cremated.

It's been ages since I last time used undead in my campaign (at least 10+ years). I remember at the time, there were very simple rules I gave my players about undead:
All undead are essentially akin to golems, except made out of flesh or bones. They have no souls, no mind of their own, they are simplistic heaps of matter animated by and obeying the will of those who created them.
The joke was that roughly half-way through the campaign, this rule was broken and the players encountered a new "breed" of undead, who turned out to be retaining their souls, which meant they had their own will, personality, memories who they were etc...
This caused a lot of havoc and confusion and a rather bloody war against these new "abominations", and eventually ending up with the new undead reclaiming their own land and forming their own kingdom, and eventually turned out to be in many ways more morally just and fair than most of the humans had.
It was a lot of fun, but man it has been long. Since then, I had not used undead - the closest got is in my latest world-building effort, which includes "The Old Ones", humans who are nearly immortal (except for, well, violent death), but they do age (albeit at slower pace) and their bodies slowly dry up until they resemble mummies or human husks.
Inspiration drawn from pic related, as well as one short story by Borges. But they aren't undead in technical sense - basic metabolism still runs, they still live and breathe, albeit in a very altered fashion
Well, well, well. We've finally exited the warp, and are now over your intended destination, Admiral Sternbridge! Good luck with your promotion!
Now then... The Comm officer was saying something about a distress beacon that was coming from the warp... Apparently from some ship known as "The Herald of Imperial Goodwill"?

FAQ:
>What the fuck is this?
Somewhat a campaign of crack-infused free-form roleplay in the grim darkness of the far future.
>When do you guys make these threads?
Usually mondays at 4PM GMT, but they sometimes extend to Tuesdays if we got caught in the middle of something when the thread died and it was too late to make another one the same day.
>Can I join in?
Sure, just think of a character and have fun, you can find most info in 1d4chan albeit it's ussually a little bit out of date in comparison to where the threads are.
>Is there any requirement in character creation.
Not really, we've had Xeno infiltrators, Chaos infiltrators, Villains, Heroes, Normal Guardsmen, Crazed Guardsmen, Assassins, Psykers, Space Marines, Inquisitors, Squats... just think whathever and join the fun.
>Is it allowed to have more than a single character?
Yes as long as you don't use it to powerplay.
>So how you guys do the playan'?
We tend to use spoilers for OOC chat, but nothing is set in stone.
We tend to use greentexts for describing a character's actions, but again nothing is set in stone.
Use d20s for combat checks and d100s for other things you want to roll, higher Is better.
It's important to know that the regiment is now in the employ of a radical Ordo Xenos Inquisitor, with influence from an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and under the watch of an Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor. Yes we've been through a lot of shit.

Future Naruto Quest
This quest is set within the universe of Naruto, long after the end of the series, but ignoring the events of the Boruto Manga. Of course, because this is Naruto we're talking about, the geopolitics and technology haven't advanced as quickly as they would in the real world. As such, the technology is similar to that of Boruto the Movie, and the villages you know and love are largely the same.
However, the characters will be less familiar, because as much time has passed between the Last and now as passed between the Founding of the Hidden Villages and the Main Series.
You are playing as Kuro Nijiiroh, a Hidden Leaf Genin of eleven years. You’re a member of Hōōmaru Tachibana’s Team Seven, along with your teammates, Hakurin Hyuga, and Jimmaru ████ Uchiha. Your family consists of your older sister, an ANBU Black Ops, Shirou; your mother, the restaurateur Ki; and your father, a Hand Seals Specializing Tokubetsu Jounin.

Can anyone recommend some software to make editable PDFs?
I'm making some custom character sheets but want to be able to edit the entered data more easily.
So druid edition I guess?
How do you guys manage to motivate your druid characters? Personally, I want to run one who cares less about 'nature' and more about the resident spirits in wherever they are, serving their needs and keeping them healthy, whether that means protecting a forest or cleaning up a city. Animism seems like a much cooler source of power to me than the default "Muh pure primal nature energy"

Rolled 21 (1d30)
Sup /tg/,
Some fucker asks you to roll a d30. You don't have one.
How would you best improvise the normal distribution of a d30 using any number of dice from a typical set of 7?
>inb4 git gud
Roll 1d6 and 1d10. If the d6 comes up 1-2, use the d10's result as-is. If the d6 comes up 3-4, add +10 to the d10's result. If the d6 comes up 5-6, add +20 to the d10's result.
>Not having a d30
>>49175424
you do d100/3-3 with a minimum of 1.

>Father, tell me of the lands beyond /tg/. Tell me of mighty /k/, of the strange lands of /a/, and of the dark citadel of /v/.
Describe a board as if it were a country in a fantasy setting, /tg/.
There is a place that is terrifying to behold. Rightfully so, as it is made entirely of blasphemy. They sit in their squalor and share their terrible rituals. Yet, they coexist, and they are warm and inviting amongst themselves.
Dare not follow the temptations on the edge of this land. The grass may seem just a bit greener on the other side, a familiar and enticing scent may blow from just beyond the hill...but you must not follow into this land. For all are bid welcome, and anyone who samples even a bite of its fruit shall return. And those that return will find deeper pleasures, more things drawing them in, until they too find themselves a part of it, bound and unsatisfied by those things without.

Well, fuck.
I'm some imperial guardsman, but I have a power fist.
Except I don't need a power fist to power fist, it just comes naturally.
Does the imperium give a shit about people with unique traits like this, or do they just throw them into the meatgrinder? I imagine the second.
I hope I can powerfist my way out of being mauled by orks.
What's your favorite way of implementing armor as a mechanic, and why?
1. Reduced chance of an attack being successful against the wearer, usually by way of altering the attacker's target number.
2. A separate "armor roll" to see if an attack is negated by the defender's armor (the better the armor, the higher the chance).
3. Damage reduction.
4. Armor grants the wearer extra hit points.
>>49170678
5. Other
Forgot to add that
All are fine so long as you build a system around it.
Harder to hit might be the most elegant solution.
DR
It just enables a character end up on an operating table instead of el muerte.

The worlds finals are going so bad that they could spoil the whole set already.
World building is /tg/ right? That makes fictional languages /tg/.
I'm building a setting in which the only sapient races are humans, and was wanting to design a written language for immersion, all but one of my players are into stuff like that, so I'm looking for inspiration.
Post articles and pictures about fictional languages, discuss semantics of an alphabet or a cipher, etc.
Pic related I always thought was neateven if its fanbase is pretty terrible. The idea of a symbol representing a sound was actually how I intended to do mine (though obviously not using huge circles, it's not really practical).

Or in english instead of my fictional language: Wouldnt you need ultra huge circles to make big words?
>>49170234
Big words, no, not up to a certain point. You can just do the individual letter shapes smaller. Long sentences, however, require big circles and therefore this is really impractical as an actual system of writing.
>>49170132
AH IT HURTS TO READ
Goddamn, the level of autism required for that to be a viable language is just like the Doctor Who fanbase.
I mean, that style of writing makes perfect sense as part of a truly alien language, but I like my horizontal, left-to-right, clear font the way it is.
