Lamentations of the Flame Princess? You get the ascending AC, weirdness, and ease of conversion. Not sure if you'll really get the sort of magic you want without a chart though.

What happens as time marches on in your typical fantasy setting? Suppose the development of firearms leads to Napoleonic infantry tactics, as well as the classic three arm-of-service Army, with infantry, artillery and cavalry. Eventually, with industrialisation will come industrial wars along the lines of the Crimean War or the American Civil War. What would a fantasy setting look like at its point in time analogous to 1865? What would an adventuring party look like at that point?

A friend of mine has maintained that magic would effectively prevent technology from developing, but I'm not sure. Thoughts?

Magic does stagnate because it fills all the same roles as tech. They're two sides of the same coin, tools to be used to make life easier.

Why invent spy cameras and satellite imagery when you can already scry? Why invent ceramic ballistic armor when you already have stoneskin?
>>
>>49121770
You can mass-produce cameras or rifles, but you would have trouble doing the same with wizards. Additionally, not all people have the ability to use magic in most settings.

Pretty close, you only use one > each line though. The sentiments are true though, Mind's Dilation is EDH Trash at best.

Why does my dumb ass FLGS keep hiring cute girls who know fuck all about games. I fucking hate them. I grilled some chick about which version of DnD to buy and she looked clueless and said "the newest one?"

Admittedly, she was correct imo but her answer was based on zero information.

I get very nervous around attractive women as do me of the spergs who go to my FLGS. I fucking hate them trying to manipulate my sex instinct and it's fucking backfiring because I have ordered things online to avoid approaching the female cashiers.

So sick of this shit. They are also at fnm so I sold my Standard deck recently. It was shit but it was still worth about a hundred bucks. I sold it for sixty. So these cunts have already list me forty bucks.

Any advice on getting them fired? Including "may I speak to your manager please" shit? There are only four but one on at a time throughout the week / weekend .

Is Vecna a powerful enough deity to warrant worship by a death domain cleric?

I'm going to be playing a Dwarf Death domain (DMG) cleric, whose goal is to bring back Vecna. Would I need to worship an actual god of death, with Vecna being my end goal, or is dedicating my life and power to Vecna enough?

>Of course I only have one fucking eye.
>>
>>49116449
People worship tons of things waaaaay weaker than an actual deity senpai.

Going of several /tg/ stories I've heard over the years, I'm getting into my first dnd campaign, and I've decided to play as a chaotic good necromancer. Here's what I've got so far:

Character is from a town of primarily devoted to study and magic. All physical labor is performed by the undead, every citizen of this city signs in their will not just what should be done with their property after death, but what they want to be raised to do after death (farming, plumbing, woodworking/production jobs etc.). as a result, the citizens are free to pursue their dreams, they are doctors, students, teachers, artists, musicians, and wizards, they recognize the sacrifice of the people willingly undertaken that life might be used for living.

The undead raised by these people are specially created to be remarkably well preserved, and lifelike. and the utmost care is taken to respect the dead.

The character's undead companion is his sister, who died a few years ago, and was employed as a pipe in an organ at the local opera.

So I've got the backstory down pat, now comes the grunt work. I've never played dnd, need pointers, and character building advise. The players are dual classing, when my friend getting me into the campaign asked if I was playing a cleric or wizard necromancer, and mentioned the dual classing (I believe he mentioned the term geshalt? A little help here...) I suggested doing both. Now, he mentioned I needed to worship a god that was cool with necromancy and my being good at the same time. He suggested the "lord of the inevitable end" or somesuch. Can anyone throw me a bone here?

...the bone puns in a necromancer thread have begun.

Godbound General!

What is Godbound? It's a 3pp Pathfinder class that basically transforms Pathfinder into a brand new game, though still a d20 game.

In Godbound, you play a Godbound. You're a superpowered godling whom no mortal hero can stop, no matter how powerful they are. If you're a level 1 Godbound and the other guy is a level 20 mortal wizard, you'll win because your can fling your divine powers at them and they'll have no chance of resisting. Your only opposition comes from other Godbound.

What kind of Godbound can you play? Think of an Exalted type. Those are the playable Godbound, because Godbound's setting is actually just Creation from Exalted. So you can play a Solar Godbound, a Lunar Godbound, a Sidereal Godbound, an Alchemical Godbound, or whatever.

What do you do in Godbound? Take over the world, try to make the world better, or both. But don't worry, because this game doesn't have any clunky domain management rules to slow you down. You'll just have to trust in your GM to fiat how things work in downtime.

Sounds good?

Damien's primary mission is to destroy the Insurrectionist complex. His secondary mission is to discover the purpose of the facility and to gain whatever insight into their operations he can.

After a quick skirmish with an enemy sniper Damien decides to infiltrate deep into the complex via the cave tunnels

With a simple thought, you activate the auxiliary optics embedded into your helmet. The darkness of the caves is soon illuminated in a dark green filter. You see various shapes scatter and scurry away as you quickly advance through the tunnels. Your vision has been largely enhanced by your augmentations, darkness isn't an issue as much as it used to be. But the light and thermal imaging provided by your helmet are unparalleled and a blessing.

So far you've only encountered twisting pathways and empty caverns. You half expected the area to be crawling in enemy elements. The lack of a guard or any form of surveillance while appreciated, worries you greatly. Then again you don't expect much from the insurrectionist. While you advance through the tunnels at a light jog (for a spartan) you bring up a briefing on the insurrectionist of Coryner.

The rebels rooted on the planet Coryner are mainly composed of former miners and cargo haulers. When a policy change by the Colonial Government on Coryner passed legislation with the support of several megacorps, it severely reduced and cut the pay of the mine and transport workers. The pay was to be diverted towards accruing shipments of exoskeletons that would dramatically increase the mining of valuable ores. This combined with the negligence of the lower class caused the first rebellion on Coryner in Titanium Mine Sprawl 12 or the TMS-12 Incident

You slide down an incline, knocking up dust and debris while searching for more information. Did ONI have a name to the insurrectionist group? A leader?

(1/3)
>>
As you follow your HUD compass through the tunnels, words and images scroll past your vision as you will it

After the first rebellion, sedition spread like fire. Reparations and apologies came too late and only fueled the fire. Several weeks after TMS-12 ONI discovered that the man who led the rebellion was killed during the incident. The insurrectionist named themselves after him. From that day they were known as Kane's Angels. Even without their leader, the Angels seem to move and operate above and beyond the level of simple rebels. This has lead ONI to speculate that their is elements either off planet or hidden on he world guiding the actions of the Angels.

You leap near the end of the incline and tuck into a roll. The compass on your HUD tells you that there are only 200 meters towards the remnants of the mine below the complex. If the measurements were correct you should be able to plant some of the C-12 there. The resulting explosions will destabilise the caves and cause massive cave-ins. Following them would be the destination of the C-12 in the building. This group of "Angels" would be stranded and separated.

You slow down some as the distance shortens and your vision is illuminated by massive derelict spotlights. They flicker on and off briefly before having a long period of off time. This area carries the mark of intensive mining operations. The walls are marred and scarred by industrial tools, minecarts lay on their sides gathering dust and rust, abandoned ores strewn through the area. You hold your DMR before you as you approach the cave mouth.

You stand in a tunnel overlooking the abandoned mines. Below you lie defunct vehicles, destroyed signs asking for helmets to be worn at all times, rusted through tracks and their accompanying minecarts, a cannibalized exoskeleton, small shacks, and beyond the mine lies your first target.

The main elevator that carries the people and materials up into the complex where they can take them to cargo trucks. You should be able to access the complex major through the shaft. All you have to do is bypass or destroy the rebels guarding it.

You spot fifteen rebels lounging about in the general area of the elevator. Men sit upon overturned trucks, some sit in groups drinking alcohol and smoking, the more attentive and serious of their numbers yell at them to get back to work and they break off into smaller groups and pairs. A group of five activate their flashlights and push out into the darkness of the mine, Two groups of three men remain by the elevator, the rest of the men board the next elevator and ascend into the complex.

You examine your surroundings to see what are your options. A somewhat derelict lift still rests beside you and the track extends towards the middle of the abandoned mine. You could ride it there and expedite your infiltration. You could also climb down into the darkness and work your way past the patrol and towards the elevator. There's also the option of using the stalactite as a way to bypass everything and drop onto the shaft of the elevator.

(3/3)
>Scale down into the abandoned mines
>Scale across the cavern and into the Elevator
>Ride the Lift to the middle of the mines and proceed

Yes, I did recently watch Sicario.

We're planning on setting up a M&M game in the Four colors setting and I put this together the other night.

Alan Tully. Veteran of the Great war. Returns home a changed and stoic man. He finds work as an Ice deliveryman and spends a year or two doing that. Keeping mostly to himself.

One chilly morning he's out at the lake cutting out blocks like he's always done. Except he stumbles across some bootleggers executing someone. They catch him. Beat him withing an inch of his life. Throw him in the boot of their car and drive him into the woods and dump his body in a ditch with the other corpse.

He manages to struggle to his feet once they've gone. Dizzy disorented and unsure which way leads back to civilization. He spends 4 days in the cold.

But that cold isn't what gets to him
The hunger isn't what gets to him.
Its the silence. Everything muffled by snow.
And he's struck by the juxtuposition of it from his time in the trenches. It drives him a bit mad but he's powers through it and eventually makes peace with it.

On the Third evening he's managed to get some sort of fire going to keep warm. He huddles close to it listening to the crackle and feeling its warmth.

He closes is eyes and holds his breath for a moment to prevent his beard from frosting further. -- And the crackle of the fire ceases.

He opens them to see the fire is still burning.
He exhales. And the sound picks up.

He's developed the ability to create a sound nullifying field around him while he holds his breath.

He makes it back to civilization. Now thought dead.
And becomes a masked detective. "The Silence"

The character that has been at the back of my mind for the longest time has been a Heretek.

They aren't so much for the full-blown chaos artificer method of 'shove demons into it until it works,' but rather a fringe radical who actually wants to build up an understanding of the various technologies they work with.

A mechanically-augmented genius, they actually grasp a lot of how things work intuitively, but to test their theories they insist on taking things apart to see how they work, and then putting them back together again.

Now, with your basic las-gun or even the occasional bolter, I imagine that's relatively simple and standard. A certain amount of low-grade tech heresy is probably to be expected and to some extent tolerated in brilliant young tech-priests.

But once they have an understanding of the most basic of the imperium's technologies, able to disassemable and reassemble basic weapons, basic machine parts, basic armour just from their understanding of how it works rather than rote knowledge, they start to turn their curious ocular-perceptors to rarer technologies, more difficult to understand.

Plasma guns, power fists, entire tanks- maybe even terminator armour.

But when they try to take these more precious items apart, well, that's when the imperium's machine cult comes down on them like a ton of bricks.

Forced to flee, leaving their research behind, they fall in with cultists and monsters, resenting the fleshbags both for their ignorance, but also for their veneration of petty and malicious gods as they try and build their own cult of enlightened tinkerers - only to probably eventually fall to the seductive power of chaos, maybe selling their internal servos to tzeentch for a shot at some genuine knowledge, who knows?

Oh, and their sarcastic autonomous servo-skull minion called Severus Cranius
