I need /tg/'s help. I have a load of fictional drugs for an urban schizotech setting (you got runes in my nanomachines!) but I'm on the look out for more. Things gangs could manufacture using anything from plasma membrane filtration to chanting around a circle of sacred salts. Effects are fair game, though ludicrous effects (turns you into a clown or some shit) probably mean the drug isn't all that widespread. Since there's a diverse population here, feel free to come up with backstories for drugs made by groups of people (or monsters or AIs or whatever) you like the sound of. Anything helps!
>>49122213
Novel ways to use said drugs, their effects, etc. would also be amazingly useful. More detailed things are more likely to show up in the campaign, since I tend to GM with little planned and go off details I can remember.

Afterdust is a powdery substance left over from spent magic circles used to contain otherwordly creatures as the materials for such circles tend to be esoteric in nature (i.e. various plants and minerals ground in a mortar and pestal).
The effects of Afterdust was discovered by an enterprising apprentience who accidently inhaled some of the dust while tasked with cleaning up the circle expereincing what can be considered an electrical surge in his mind and soul and brief glimpses of otherworldly things.
Since then, the apprentince was careful to collect the dust and would test them on various animals before moving on to people finding that different creatures contained offered various affects:
Celelstial creatures such as angels and devils and would cause spiritual euphoria and feelings of enlightenment while the containment of mortal spirits would cause intense emotional responses similar to what the spirit felt (or may have felt).
Long term exposure to the drug causes addiction, physical and spiritual dependancy and degredation often causing the spirits of users who die from over dose to become twisted spirits in their own right who frequent around areas where magical circles are drawn.
>>49122345
I like it. The idea of a gang of callers channeling ghosts with happy memories and binding them for short periods to manufacture afterdust is a good one. I also like the thought of areas where a lot of junkies OD on the stuff being haunted to shit and back. Crack dens full of ghosts.
Alright, so here's the deal folk. I'm playing Shadowrun 5e, and I've got a player dilemna. It's not even the first session, but one of the players has rolled up with fucking Trout from Shadowrun storytime in spades.
How bad is he, you ask? Allow me to elaborate:
Name: ?
Nationality: Russian/British
Street Name: "Agent Kenji" (why would a fucking russian brit go with "Agent Kenji" for a street name? Why)
Role: Face/Infiltrator
Background: A former Lone Star Secret Agent who quit because he just wasn't getting enough excitement doing Ares wetwork, so he quit and became a Shadowrunner. Unfortunately, he still needed a dayjob, so he became a Lone Star Bounty Hunter (while still trying to be a Shadowrunner, because that's not a fucking conflict of interest or anything) and a ninja. He accomplishes this despite his immense height.
Oh yes, did I mention that he was 8'6? An 8'6 ELF. The GM explained that this was anatomically impossible, but Kenji wouldn't hear it. The GM explained that this would make him literally the most recognizable elf on the West Coast, but Kenji was adamant. I mean, it wasn't like any corps had complete record on his appearance?
Except for Ares, for which he had a full fucking Corporate SIN. And the GM specified we would be running against.
So what we have here is a character predestined to get us all killed the second we get in game. What we're trying to find is the most efficient, but least metagamey way to kill his ass off before he kills us all off or gets us arrested or double crosses us.
At the moment, he has a body of 1, a willpower of 1, and a logic of 2. But, he has a shit ton of guns, high agility, wired reflexes, and reaction enhancers.
My character is a technomancer and I have recruited our giant street samurai to my side in this endeavor. So, I ask you /tg/, how do I end the weeaboo? For the good of all.
If you have a halfway professional hacker they'll run background checks on everyone they're running with as a matter of course. A part time Ares bounty hunter with a Corporate SIN and a record of work with Lone Star should be enough to make the other players refuse to work with them at the very least.

I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up on kaladesh desu. Think about it, they've already introduced 2 new walkers so they aren't gonna make another, probabaly, neither of the new walkers we've seen look black, at most Dovin is esper, and Lilana can't get a card cause she just had one, that leaves them with space for a black planeswalker and Garruk seems the best fit to me.
I mean god knows what he'd be doing there but I think It'd be cool.

Imagine a board filled to the brim with That Guy threads. Those are your options.
Cold winds blow through the mountain valley.
The sun begins to set as night gathers upon the river Zora, on the border of the Gerudo Valley and Hyrule. The air is filled with the shrieking of arrows and soldiers in a protracted siege, as the great Hylian crusade against Gerudo continues. A group of Hylian soldiers are trapped on the otherside of the river, the bridge having been destroyed, separated from the main body of the army as Gerudo from the mountains rain arrows, spears, and javelins down below at them, desperately trying to stay alive.

The siege goes on through day and dusk, the sun setting upon another wretched dayas as endless arrows and projectiles fly above heads of hylian and gerudo alike. The Hylians on the otherside of the river die of arrows, wounds, and exhaustion though commanders and soldiers alike try to hold out to the best of their abilities. Trenches and makeshift roof's of shields have been made, even some bodies of the dead have been piled upon dirt to give just a little bit more cover.
The sun descends upon darkened hopes of men for quick relief, even as the bridge is built at as much an agonizing pace as they, yet still hope they cling to as the bridge is built nonetheless.
Suddenly, fire and flames appear upon the mountain! The fire wizard, he's joined the battle! The troops watch his awesome display of pyrotechnical might as he blasts and burns the gerudo away from their holes. His attack seems to have inspired the troops. . .some a little too much.
The Goron and a tall Hylian soldier have had enough. They rally other soldiers to charge up the mountain, despite angry and desperate calls by other commanders to stay behind the defenses. “Fools!” they were called “you make yourselves a target!” Ingoring their commanders, Lancel and the Goron convince several men to make a march up the hill “better to die fighting than killed by arrows!”
And...it works! The goron uses his massive rock body to block arrows, soldiers holding behind shields to either side, marching up the hill. Every now and then a Gerudo tries to hit the men behind him, and the goron picks up a big rock and flings it at them smashing a few, causing others nearby to duck for cover. He and the men behind march slowly up the steep stony cliff, climbing, getting close enough to see the white's of the eyes of three Gerudo.
Three Gerudo who then stand up tall, their hands raised displaying three bombs. Oh...

The Goron is lifted a few feet into the air before crashing back down and rolling down the mountain side like a giant smoking boulder, crashing through anything in its unfortunate path. He lands at the bottom of the hill, just barely avoiding falling over into the river. When he gets up, he see's a great cloud of dust and smoke covering the men as well as boulders fallinng into the river.
The Goron escaped more serious harm. The soldiers he left behind are not so lucky.
Lancel and his men are now defenseless. Archers in hidden positions all around, and no cover from the Goron. There's a stillness in the air as time freezes for him, watching the other gerudo raise and draw their bows almost in slow motion. His wounds hurt, his sword and body feel heavy. He can feel it, death rearing itself to sprint at him riding a hundred arrows. The men around him look to their makeshift leader, not knowing what to do.

>[Prisoner!] - Is there truly a fate worse than death? Perhaps not. (For you the war is over, but perhaps you might still see the war to its end, if you can survive the Prince's dungeons. Choose if you wish to transition into playing a prisoner, with moderate physical handicaps).
>[Revenge unfulfilled, the sin of the father] – The war has ended for you. Your hatred is strong enough ro cling only upon life, refusing to die at the hands of a hated foe but unable to bring the revenge you seek. But anger dies hard, perhaps your lineage may carry the fire in their veins. (Choose if you wish to play a descendant in a later episode. He or she may carry some of your traits as rolled by the GM. Your warriors time in the game is over, unless you wish to continue to play as a cripple.)
>[The stranger and the soldier's soul] – Death is but a window, through which the wind can blow both ways. Choose this if you wish your character to fight in another episode, somewhat changed. But the episode is over for him)
>[Ain't taking me!] Gods damned if you didn't get some Gerudo piece, but you ain't about to be no prisoner or go home empty handed. With your last breathe you are inspired to kill as many Gerudo as you can (death is assured).
Anone happen to have a copy of the rules for it or its historically accurate sister game, Boltaction?
I too am interested in Konflict 47
Historical war games general should have links to bolt action in their trove. Have seen anything for konflict though. Flipped through the rule book at my lgs, definitely had some cool minis in the book, but nothing on the shelves with the book. Is it an unsupported line, are there plans for production for minis for it?
Im not sure about Boltaction, but the somewhat revised Boltaction 2 just recently came out. Konflict is also pretty new. the only armies that are fully released are America and Germany, with Britain and the Soviets on the way soon (tm)

Future Naruto Quest
This quest is set within the universe of Naruto, long after the end of the series, but ignoring the events of the Boruto Manga. Of course, because this is Naruto we're talking about, the geopolitics and technology haven't advanced as quickly as they would in the real world. As such, the technology is similar to that of Boruto the Movie, and the villages you know and love are largely the same.
However, the characters will be less familiar, because as much time has passed between the Last and now as passed between the Founding of the Hidden Villages and the Main Series.

I'M HERE!
Still haven't figured out who created the Uchiha Branch House.
You wake up on the morning of your day off, later than you usually would. It was nice to be in your own bed after the week or so you spent on the road and on that godforsaken train. You decide not to get started on your day right away, and just head down for breakfast in your pajamas. Both of your parents are there, eating simple breakfasts, and you join them. After some general family banter, your mom heads off, apparently having a meeting before work. After spending some time with your dad, you finally decide to get ready for your day.

Let's do this (again), and let's keep it civil.
Railroad or sandbox?
Personally, both as a GM or player, I prefer a mix, where you can run off to do different things, but you're always caught up by the main plot.
>>49110574
>Porque_no_los_dos?.jpg
Why do we have to go over this again and again?
Both are bad.
>railroading happens when the GM excercises complete control over the game, effectively making it just like a video game with only one direction to go and slim to none player input.
>sandbox happens when the GM is too lazy to come up with anything resembling plot and is content with plopping the players into random encounter after random encounter
In my experience, playing RPGs is like driving a car. There are multiple roads that you can take and you can of course select a destination when you get in the car. Then you just take whatever way you figure is best for you and start driving, eventually getting where you wanted to. Or you can take another destination and go another way instead. Sometimes you'll encounter roadblocks or dead-ends: it happens. But you press on and finally you arrive at the destination you chose... or not.
Sandbox, in my experience, is a term that lazy GMs use to excuse the big fucking hole that is where the plot should be.
>>49110574
I imagine most would prefer a mix of the two. It allows the players a degree of freedom to fuck about to their heart's content while also letting the DM run the story they actually started the campaign for.
That's how i've run all my games, though i have played in pure railroad games.
>>49110574
Railroading is a deliberate violation of player agency so it's always bad. Linear adventures are a completely different thing. As long your players are informed about the linear structure, it's not a railroad. But, if your players _think_ that scenario is a lot more dynamic and freeform and you're forcing them in certain situations as required by plot, that's where railroading occurs.
>>49110627
Obviously, a sandbox without a theme and conflicts is a bad sandbox. Good sandbox is filled with situations and NPCs that actually advance their agenda. When players engage some of the existing conflicts, they create their own plot. Of course, players always should have freedom to disengage from whatever "plot" they're involved in and face the consequences, positive or negative.
What's your opinion on nonhumans falling to chaos, /tg/?
Could, in your opinion, an Eldar pledge themselves to one of the three older gods in order to save their soul from Slaanesh?
Would an Ork devote himself to Khorne if he saw a greater potential for bloodshed under the god of skulls?
Could a sentient Tyranid (so a tyrant or warrior or somesuch) be turned to chaos by its own choosing?
Could a nonsentient tyranid be fooled by a powerful demon masquerading as the hive mind?
Could a Kroot shaper lead his people in worship to a god until they were entirely corrupted?
>>49110326
I don't see many of the playable xenos turning to chaos often enough to warrent really talking about, but chaos orks would be the shit, all 4 gods but khorne in particular
>>49110326
> Eldar
Unlikely. All Eldar souls belong to Slaanesh, but maybe they could strike a deal with a daemon in exchange for something else apart of their own soul.
> Ork
I don't know; I think orks are too self-centered to ackmowledge the power of Khorne over their own orkish gods beyond recognizing his minions as worthy enemies to brawl and fight with.
>Tyranid (sentient or not)
Impossible. Tyranids simply lack emotions, which are the main support for Chaos in the material plane. An intelligent Tyranid organism (such as a Norn Queen or a Hive Tyrant) are just incapable of "feeling" things like faith, belief or fear of death, which in the races of the Milky Way Galaxy function as the most powerful reasons mortals worship the Chaos Gods. A lesser Tyranid is directly unexistent to that purpose, since they don't even have minds of their own and act on instinct or under control of the Hive Mind; they are either animal-like or like cells in a bigger entity.
>Kroot
...maybe. I don't see no reason for them not to turn into Chaos worship, except of there are Tau around to control them.
I wouldn't want to see new chaosx[insert xeno race] factions to give chaos even more spotlight.
