One of my players is going to have to deliver a baby in game sometime in the future. I'm kicking around some ideas on how I want to do it but I'd like to see how some other DMs would do it. Assume its a high stress situation and explain how you'd do it in whatever system your most comfortable running.
Tell us what the setting is and whatnot. Is it going to be another PC giving birth or an NPC? Did you want to involve any mechanical effects?
Personally, I'd probably make the PC make a couple of rolls just for drama. I think the more important and interesting thing would be keeping the mother safe while she gives birth.
Wait what?
Dude rolling dice isn't going to help you deliver a baby take that shit to the hospital or get a professional mid wife or something goddamn.
>>49368012
He's delivering and NPCs baby but she's been travelling with the party since session one. Near future campaign, assume medical technology is the same as today but he will likely only have things you could find in your average house, a medkit at most.

ITT: Characters you've always wanted to play.
What system lets me play as Frog the best?
GURPS
Savage Worlds
Mutants & Masterminds
Any system you are really familiar with enough to make Frog and homebrew some things.
I wanna be Attikus from Battleborn
I've done the personality and that's really fun but I want him pre-nerf/tweaks. Such a fun character to play.
>>49367815
Anything system that's based around either of the world wars.
>be a high ranking cleric of a god
>have a sweet ass temple, lots of devout believers and followers
>wake up one day to discover some evil god/demon prince/adventuring party has killed your god
Fuck.
You know what must be done.
Time to un-kill a god

I'd finally be able to give up on both franchises for good
How would you set Sci-Fi and Fantasy as opposing factions without devolving into Avatar?
Id go the stargate route.
Look into A Certain Magical Index
One of the best depictions I've seen
For once enlightenment values are shown positively in a magic vs science conflict
Warhammer 40k
You just have one faction be Sci-Fi and the other be Fantasy.
ez
Lets have some fun /tg/.
Go to Ebay and find outrageous prices on poorly painted/conversion miniatures.
This is $75 now I know some might say it looks good but the details just look bland.
desu that's fine
the issue is just that people seem to think painting increases the value, when really unless it's an insanely good paintjob it does the opposite.
>>49365533
Im fine with piece of shit miniatures for like $10 so you can strip them then you find shit like this.
I mean its passable but when you have PRO PAINTED in the title your just pulling my chain
>>49365481
It's actually good enough that it'll sell for 75$
This squad on sprue is 40$ afterall, someone took their time to assemble and paint it, they should request more than 40$, cmon
How would you make a Slasher viable character? Or at least a being able to work as part of a heroic party?
WoD/CofD is the obvious choice for a setting, but a fantasty or sci fi setting might also be interesting points of discussion.
>>49365403
A lot of points into intimidation and stealth.
>>49365403
You could go the Predators route and not let the other characters know he's "the slasher", but drop hints about it. Spoiler if you haven't seen Predators. The movies premise is that a team of predators have abducted their favored prey from Earth and dumped them into an intergalactic game reserve. To give them a good hunt, the main party is full of grizzled bad-ass tough guys, like army snipers, mercs, guerrillas, Yakuza, cartel enforcers, etc. There's the one odd guy out who's just sort of a regular dude, really out of his element, though he claims he's a doctor and knows some biology. At the end of the movie, it turns out he's as dangerous as all the others, because he's a serial killer psychopath that's been lying about himself the entire time.
Play a character that carries a bunch of "brutal" weapons (machetes, hooks, ect) and make him less motivated by doing good and more by some sort of attachment to the party (doesn't have to be willing, but I'd make it willing).
You could stop your character from going too far off the moral deep end by saying that the party gave you rules a la Terminator.
Why do Dwarfs did triggered by every little thing someone says to them and run off to write about it in their diary back in their safe-place cave?
What a bunch of losers.

Lemme hear you best ideas for books of forbidden knowledge /tg/

>1008 Names of Darkness
A book that details the locations or supposed locations of various places in the world where the gates between our world and the otherworld are thin or non-existant. As the book was pinned nearly 500 years ago many of those locations have since changed but always seem to draw in many supposed supernatural events and phenomenon.

Doesn't necessarily just have to be standard grimoires. can be journals, scraps of paper, etc.

Get rolling boys.
Since Satyrs are just male Nymphs, do you give them the same racial bonuses in your games?
How do you feel about such sexual dimorphism in races?
>>49364488
You have a problem with sexual dimorhpism? Why? Please tell me you aren't going to say it's a myth.

Abandoned mine
Round up the gang of robbers hiding in the old mine hills. Don't mind anything else you hear, and don't follow anyone into a mine entrance. They're all supposed to be boarded up.
Ghost town
Find the money box buried under the floorboards of the saloon in Paradise. Of course you'll have to find Paradise first. The last inhabitants fled years ago, strange folks, but it must be somewhere over those hills.
Mountain pass
No one goes over the pass after the autumn storms have started. But this letter is crucial and must be delivered within the month!
Desert cave
Ancient redskin paintings on the walls of a large cave deep in the desert have piqued the interest of a well funded scientist from the East. Although he's not exactly clear on why he needs to get there so urgently, and he didn't mention that it is holy grounds to some injuns.
Cannibal homestead
It's the only farm for dozens of miles. People rarely go there, and the inhabitants never make it to town. Someone has to make it out there and sell them on signing a deed for the new railway to be built.
Trail of bad luck
It's understandable that you are in a hurry. But still, I wouldn't take that path. It's bad. Take the extra week and go the long way, it's much safer.
Gulch of shadow
Not much grows down there. Even the noon sun hardly makes it down there. All sorts of critters live in the cracks and burrows of that godforsaken place. Why would you want to go there?
Forgotten desert
It's pretty much the end of the world. Sure, eventually there's Mexico, but you'll never make it there. There's just no way to bring enough water. Everything that heads that way is soon forgotten.
River of tears
The natives transport everything by canoe, but never on these waters. I guess they're afraid of the gators, but them reptiles can't get up on the deck of a proper river boat. Don't worry. Upriver there's tricky shallows though, so the steamers only go up to here. Sometimes a dead deer will drift by...
look up Deadlands
The party troops through the woods under the guidance of the ranger. They are deep behind the lines of the evil empire, which has conquered vast swaths of territory. Even now dark forces and horrific rituals take place within the murky depths of their realm. This forest is occupied by members of the resistance. Forms slide through the light mist around you. Raising your weapons, you prepare for a fight against whatever monsters have been set against you.
A figure steps forward, removing his mask. Pointed ears frame his too-perfect face.
"Hon hon hon, we have been expecting you! Mon dieu, you are certainly noisy passing through our forest. We are, how do you say, le elvish resistance! Hon hon hon!"
He reaches beneath his cloak and draws forth a pouch.
"Lembas baguette? Or perhaps you would prefer some of our fine champagne aged over two centuries? Then again, perhaps your pallets do not appreciate our fine cuisine..."
All around you the elvish resistance throw back their heads and laugh in unison.
"Hon hon hon hon hon hon..."
Their mirth echoes into the night.
All elves are French. High elves are Parisian. Drow are Belgian.
