Homebrew percentile system. TLDR is its a fantasy setting that progressed to the modern age technologically after a way was found to store magic in batteries for later use, effectively inventing electricity/gasoline in one.

My character is a super Scientist. She exploits the way magic works in the setting to create impossible wonders of technology. See, if a wizard wants to fly, he simply wills it, and with enough magical energy, he's in the air.

But why bother with that much effort? What if instead, you invented a machine that WOULD fly, if the physical constants were just barely different, then hooked an enchanted device to the machine to alter the constants barely, essentially having science do 95% of the legwork? So basically my PC can take say, a plastic gun-casing, a laser pointer, and a magical battery, hook them all together, then weld together some piece of machinery that does nothing, spray-paint it chrome and put it inside the gun, and all of a sudden I have a working ray gun.

I just hook the laser pointer up to my "Quantum Amplifier" [all the magical 'black boxes' have ridiculous names and do nothing] and I'm off! The campaign is an SCP-inspired investigation game where 99+% of people don't know about super Science. Its great.

I would recommend getting a metric ass-ton of models together if you have them. Put them all over the board and kinda leave lanes for the PC's to battle through. Whenever the PC's clear a few of their enemies out, kill off some of the neighboring allied units and move whatever they were engaged with towards the PC's so that it has a feel of a chaotic battle waging around them but they still have clear goals in mind.

If there are siege weapons or giants in you settings, bring them in to provide high points for the fights to draw the attention in.

As the encounters are dragging on, remove models from both sides here or there to reduce the chaos until reinforcements come in. Once an area has been picked clean of interest, set up a new map with new objectives for the PC's to fight over or defend. Really, all it is is just stringing together encounters with a good variety of objectives and strategic value to keep it entertaining.

Some encounters may play out like capture the flag while others are just a good old fashion brawl. Have fun out there!

Though to be honest, by the time I decided that d&d is a waste of time I was ignoring 50-90% of everything in the printed material depending on which set of houserules we were playing with. I've never seen another system that is as consistently unlikeable.

Ravenguard? Cover save shenanigans, accurate deep strike/charge on the first turn and using scouts to lead in other outflanking squads is pretty serious business.
I don't really play in a meta that's heavy on things like Eldar scatterbike armies though, so I really have no idea.

Crossbow is pretty situational based on your campaign, either really shit or amazing for the level. If theres lots of water make it 1d6.

Add a limit to how many times the horn can be used in the day, or expect shenanigans. (Once is fine for your level.)
The crossbow is stronk in its specific circumstance and completely average outside of it.

I completely forgot to add the once per day thing, I meant to. There isnt a shitload of water in this campaign I just wanted to add a little flavor rather than just +1 crossbow, so it should be fine for a low level.

Depends on the regiment and its homeworld, and the culture there, and any regulations the regimental command staff see fit to enforce (within reason - the Commissariat has a purpose, after all).

She's removed from duty once the pregnancy progresses to the point where it impedes combat effectiveness. The child is drafted immediately. Many regiments encourage child making as a means of offsetting campaign casualties.

Relevant stat = Dice size
Skill = Number of Dice

Final result = the highest value

So a having a 3 in strength and a 2 in weightlifting would give you 2d3, but having a 6 in Charisma and a 5 in Public speaking would give you a 5d6.

So having a high raw talent can make a big difference, but having more skill gives you more dependable results.

I really liked the idea of the Dark Speech from the book of vile darkness, up until I realized that Abyssal and Infernal should basically be treated like it is.
