>Question
Do you guys have any homebrews? i know that aspel made a Vicissitude supplement and guy a while back made a JoJo one.

>Is the defense for the rich really that far off from wanting monarchy?
I'd say yes. Were he French or German I wouldn't bat an eye, since both countries have a strong history with monarchism. But America is a country founded on republicanism.
>>50149204
Eh. Modern monarchists are generally more social conservatives than libertarians, at least in Europe. Neo-feudalists are nutjobs, even more than ancaps.
>>50149092
I have posted a couple of bloodlines in these threads before: the Sternberg and VtR Samedi. I'm working on a few others.
>>50149269
America is founded on a lot of things that modern Republicans tend to forget, like Religious freedom. A lot of the Neo-Monarchist crowd are pretty Libertarian, from what I've seen (which admittedly isn't much). Plus there's the people who want a transhumanist techno-libertarian world run by a Godlike machine like Roko's Basilisk.
>>50149092
I've made a *lot* of homebrew beyond the Vicissitude one. I'm not sure whether I should link my catgirls or the magical girls, though. There's also the Whipping Boys, though I need a capstone power for them. Nothing feels suitable for a fifth Attainment.
I should probably try my hand at a Lodge, or Entitlement. Or more Bloodlines. I still love Bloodlines the most.
>Catgirls
I should remake these from scratch. I could do the Bloodline Bane better

I like a lot of my choices here. Particularly the Session mechanics (though I'm not sure I explain them well) and the fact that the Session is their ritual.

Hello, Aspel.
>>>/d/
Why do they keep introducing all these interesting, fun, interesting and diverse planeswalkers; but as soon as their expansion is over they get swept under the rug and the boring, milquetoast, bland, one-dimensional ones hog the spotlight again?
It's specially frequent with the female ones.
What gives, WotC?
>>50148798
Being boring means that they can be dropped into any situation the writers want. Interesting people have interaction with their environments that make them harder to move outside of them. Not impossible, but this is the easy way to do things.
>>50148798
>Why do they keep introducing all these interesting, fun, interesting and diverse planeswalkers; but as soon as their expansion is over they get swept under the rug and the boring, milquetoast, bland, one-dimensional ones hog the spotlight again?
Overexposure to any character will make them bland. While I agree that every character outside the main 5 should get more cards printed, the correct way to do this is not to just print shitloads of them. Sorin, for example, didn't need a card in KTK. Overprint any character, and ypeople will get sick of them.
The main 5 are also monocolor, meaning they can fit in more decks in any standard environment. One-off characters tend to be multicolor, and so they're more specialized and their design space is more limited.
>It's specially frequent with the female ones.
No it isn't.
>>50136120
You can play your meme waifus now and no one will make fun of you.
Anyone got some of those images of celebrity faces next to the Baldur's Gate faces? Also general character portrait in old CRPG style I guess!

I need ideas for space gods. A god of the sun appears small in the universe.
>>50166277
>God of Suns, plural
>Scheming god, sitting in the supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy, waiting to devour it
>capricious dancing comet swarm
>Lawful lord of galaxy spin
>Iron, ending of suns
>the humble small von Neumann swarm, that could end all, if it were to start converting
>the cosmic roar
>the lord of enthropy
>the hoarder of moons
>the albedo mirror
The Void Drinker, a god of the icy void between stars.
It is the driving force behind Expansion and is trying to force the universe towards complete heat death.
Sacrifices are made to it by throwing sentient creatures out of airlocks into the icy blackness of deep space.
His followers are a doomsday cult drawn from all species, they have fallen into despair and want the universe to end.
>>50166277
God Of Stars*
You could also give it many faces to represent the lifecycles of stars. Makes sense for it to be the God of Death as well, since, you know, black holes.
You guys seem like the best place to ask, since I don't have the first idea where to start searching.
For reasons, I was recently inspired to draw a female Tau Ethereal. Without descending into heresy(read:fanart/custom, non-official models), has there been any canon instance/ official artwork of such a thing?
From what I've seen, male and female Tau look pretty similar anyway. I assume Ethereals don't just pop out of the ground, and that there are females.
>>50166141
I would imagine their would be. I don't think they would look altogether different from their male counterparts. Probably slimmer and slighter of features, but the hair and clothes would be the same.
>>50166260
Yeah, that was my assumption too. I was more looking for inspiration for her outfit more than the face itself.
Hence a need for a female ethereal rather than just basing it off, say, Shadowsun.
stumbled on this while looking for "while my guitar gently weeps" on you.

This is how you antipaladin
>What lies in his soul is Damnation and Destruction.
>>50166440
What would be a good name for an anti-paladin class that's sort of its own word? As opposed to something like "Blackguard".
Paladin comes from "of the palace" or some such. I tried make a faux-french word using "ruin" as the base, but nothing was as solid sounding as paladin.
How would one kill a massive eldritch horror? Something that absorbs the souls of those who take a small part of it's power for themselves. I'm building a dark horror campaign around an Antorok type creature that's been fed the souls of the damned, and finally breaks free, spreading its massive body across the land and corrupting everything near. It needs a suitable quest to weaken it enough to where it can be killed, but I'm hoping for something a little more than "Destory the One Ring".
>>50165466
Have a mechanic where your players figure out how to eat soul energy themselves, particularly off of the Horror itself. As it grows weaker they get stronger.
Or alternatively get them to find half a an army's worth of munitions to unload on it. Just the effort of getting that much firepower would be an interesting idea.
>>50165466
summon another Eldritch abomination and have them kill each other.
or
"We need to open a portal to get it in another dimension to cut it off from its powers and make it vulnerable for murder death kill. go to these X number of sites on the magical leylines and do the ritual to ready the fuck hueg magic circle"
>>50165466
I think finding some way to starve it would be an interesting solution. Cause some change to either it or to humanity itself so that it can no longer gain nourishment from our souls. Like, sprinkle us with spiritual poison, or stab it in the gut. Then when it's weakened keep harassing it so that it's constantly having to use up energy, and without a way to replenish its reserves it eventually can be cornered and killed.
Magic items thread?
I need a weapon suitable to a deity of reproduction and fertility, that's also actually useful as a weapon. Give me ideas? Nothing lewd.
>>50164205
an AK-47 that fires off tiny fetuses that grow to full size whenever embedded within an object
>>50164238
That's hilarious and awesome, but what about in a generic fantasy setting?
>>50164271
I remember this from an old magic item thread but "arrows" that are coiled up roses who bloom and expand when they come into contact with blood (after being shot into some poor fool)

>>50161480
I thought about this myself. I'm a recluse that likes his fantasy games and novels as much as the next neck beard. I mean, if I just run constant combat encounters or play by modules, then I should be able to do it?
>>50161480
If you want a singleplayer RPG play a videogame.
Without other players Tabletop RPG's are just maths.
Any love for Greyhawk, Mordenkainen et al. here?
Does anyone update Greyhawk info any more? I recall there used to be a fan gazetteer or something.
The biggest problem with Greyhawk is how when TSR published the setting, they basically stripped out all the interesting bits and all the cool history, and then there wasn't much left, so a lot of people think Greyhawk is kind of bland.
>>50161608
Like what interesting bits? The boxed sets and even the Greyhawk City boxed set had lots of details. It just seems bland because the explosion of fantasy in the 1990s generated massive amounts of exotic material, new worlds and combinations of genres and stuff that made Greyhawk look pedestrian in comparison.
Why did the Forgotten Realms become so much more popular than Greyhawk?
When did you realise reducing magic to dice rolls and number calculations removes all of the magical aspects of it, and thus cannot work properly if you allow people to use it in tabletop games or video games?
>>50161295
When did you realise reducing melee combat to dice rolls and number calculations removes all of the exciting aspects of it, and thus cannot work properly if you allow people to use it in tabletop games or video games?
It's difficult to quantify how much more effective the blood of a virgin on her wedding night will be in a spell versus the blood of an old man who lived a full life with no regrets.
Rolled 10 + 3 (1d20 + 3)
I cast "Shut up OP"
I've seen a lot of idea regarding lich phylacteries being immaterial things - thoughts, concepts, feelings, ideas, etc.
What about immaterial mimics. A mimic that is disguised as a song. Or as a strange smell. Or as combination of colors. Or as a little known law. Or a dream...
>>50160644
You mean... a memetic mimic?
>>50160644
Well its an interesting base but you have to work out the logistics of it.
What happens when the mimic takes physical form.
>>50160692
that's why I posted that here. 'cos I have no idea.
does it even take physical form?
