>I want warhammers edition
Post historical arms and armor, and discuss various details and their relation to tabletop!
>The GM, whether unintentionally or on purpose, directs a scene that caters to your magical realm.
>Must hide power level and react negatively or keep a poker face to avoid being discovered as a degenerate.
Any of you fa/tg/uys deal with this too, whether just you or others?
My magical realm is proper timetabling and effective bureaucracy, none of my GMs put enough detail into worldbuilding to trigger my magical realm

have you been to an airport lately, they're the exact opposite, painfully disorganized
D&D 4e General /4eg/
Have you ever played a fox hengeyokai, or played with one? If not, then why not?
If you are GMing, remember...
1. To strongly consider giving out at least one free "tax feat," like Expertise and pre-errata Melee Training.
2. To use Monster Manual 3/Monster Vault/Monster Vault: Nentir Vale/Dark Sun Creature Catalog math. Avoid or manually update anything with Monster Manual 1 or 2 math.
3. That skill challenges have always been scene-framing devices for the GM, that players should never be overtly told that they are in a skill challenge, and that the Rules Compendium has the most up-to-date skill DCs and skill challenge rules.
If you would like assistance with character optimization, remember to tell us what the what the rest of the players are playing, what books are allowed, your starting level, the highest level you expect to reach, what free feats you receive, if anything is banned, whether or not themes are allowed, your starting equipment, and how much you dislike item-dependent builds.
If you wish to talk about settings, 4e's settings are Points of Light (the planes and the natural world's past empires are heavily detailed in various sourcebooks and magazines), 4e Forgotten Realms, 4e Eberron, 4e Dark Sun, and whatever setting you would like to bring into 4e.

Only if they're Elementalists.
Do you lot think we could get a PbP game going? Even if it's a printed adventure, or just a plain old dungeon crawl.
So, how many did you order?

1 week, according to the email I got.

If you care about them, you would had them before they got discontinued.
Yes I saw that line of thinking in a SoB thread. Poor bastard.

What's the best way that you've died in a campaign?
>>50299875
Failed to kill Death
Assassinated in the street on the way to the library. It was inglorious and so sudden that it took a couple of seconds for the party to realize I died, both on table and off.
I solo charged a thirty orc formation. I got hit with a greataxe crit for all of my hp, and died the manly Titan Fighter way... Admittedly, I got better almost immediately.
ITT: Take a /tg/ (or general fantasy/sci-fi-horror) cliche and subvert it in a way that's actually interesting, rather than different for the sake of being different.

Elves' cultural stasis and longevity have created an inescapable sense of ennui. A recent contingent of them have responded to this by becoming reckless thrill-seekers who regularly and enthusiastically put themselves in extreme danger. Most of these elves either die or abandon this lifestyle within a few years. Some manage to keep at it for much longer, with rumors of one of them being old enough to remember the birth of the younger races.
>>50310107
Elves are still a race of highly-cultured ubermench, but instead of being tree-hugging hippies who skirmish with bows and dick-ass bards, they're manly bearded viking warriors and glory-seeking skalds
>>50310107
The first contact with an alien race was one of distress as they were glad to find a race similar enough to themselves in sensibility and outview for they speak of strange and eldritch beings and thought themselves alone in the universe.
Post your or random awesome DM/GM/ST screens.
>>50290149
I'm gonna start DMing soon and I wanna make myself a decent DM screen
what does a DM screen need?
>>50290174
Don't clutter your screen with unnecessary stuff. Have charts related to combat (flow chart, to hit modifiers, wound effects...). If you're using a system with magic, add whatever charts are useful for your system. Stuff like price lists, weapons and armor charts are useless. Should the PCs go shopping, you can get the info from the rulebook. Pictures on the DM side are useless.
Personally, I prefer to have a small reference booklet than a screen for keeping the most valuable info. IMO, screens are either too small to keep all info you want or they get large and are cluttered with charts. Enclosed you can find a reference booklet I had made for Twilight 2000. It has everything I need for DMing on 9 pages.

Do your players ever befriend the monsters instead of fighting them?
>>50287914
One of my players is semi-literally playing the Anime Healer 'but I want to save everyone'. Keeps insisting on befriending and domesticating every monster I put in the party's way. Thus far his stable includes
>Vile trash-eating monster
>Five-headed cryohydra
>Two manticores
>Amnesiac undead trap-monster.

Ever since our GM played pic-related, he's been punishing us super hard for killing anything in our games... but we do it anyway and hope the phase will pass.
I mean, I'm all for finding peaceful and creative solutions for problems and all that, but when you're playing DnD sometimes you just want to fight stuff and have the heroic fantasy of being a badass. Shame our GM tends to go through these "fads" and shove them on the rest of us...

A Thread where we attempt to build a Commander deck that represents /tg/'s personality as a whole.
Last thread dropped off the board, so here's the new one. The results of the poll last time were rather interesting:
As a Player Archetype:
Johnny - 28%
Timmy - 26%
Vorthos - 26%
Melvin - 12%
Spike - 8%
In my opinion, /tg/ is the best kind of MTG player. We're not in it to win, or to construct the most efficient deck ever, we're in it to have a story to tell to our friends both on and off the board. We build decks with not the obvious win in mind, but the most interesting win, with crazy combos. We can take the loss, as long as the loss is interesting. In other words, we're in it for fun more than anything else, and we enjoy the story as well. To me, that's really the most admirable thing.
As for Colors... results were completely inconclusive. We favor Black, Red, and Green more than anything else(results were all within a single vote of each other, if not tied), but Blue was not far off either. So, with all that in mind, let's pick out our Commander.
Any Commander using any combination of Black, Red, or Green will be valid. There was discussion of choosing Gods from the Theros block as our commander, as well as building a Thallid Tribal deck. Personally I love Thallids, but the single copy format makes them somewhat crippled in EDH. We'll choose based on popular vote. I don't think we should insist on using a commander with all three colors, but that is an option.
So, show me what you've got.
>>50292287
If we basically got everything but white as a valid option, then why not opt for Yidris?
Shattergang.
>>50292321
Eh, Blue was behind by 4 votes, so I'm opting that one out. Besides, I've always found that 3-mana decks always try too hard, and it seems kind of like a cop out to Choose all four.

I would like to request a young sheep abhuman clinging to the back/back of the head of a Space Wolf marine, who is completely unhindered by this as he goes about his daily routine.
Whether or not the sheep is sleeping or not is up to artist preference.
Could a drawfriend please draw me an albino (blue eyes, pale skin, short white hair) half-giant (7-8 feet tall) zen archer (a monk archer basically, uses ki to alter his arrows).

At least you don't live in the Ohio Woodlands.
Fun Fact:
Ohio is Elven for Gross, Bug- Infested Bowl.
What the fuck.
I am your normie. I have been playing RPGs since 1988.
I have always had a group of buds, but work brought me to a new city, so I asked /tg/, and you told me the address of my FLGS.
WHAT THE FUCK.
Pot-bellied mongloids surrounded the table with the girl who had down-syndrome and was soliciting trades for pokemon cards, while one fat-faggot lectured her on the difference between a hive mind and a collective. I have no explanation for that part.
It freaked me the fuck out. The Korean dude at the counter was "tsshh" too-cool to sell me Sword Coast Adventures and four dial-upgrades to X-Wing.
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?
Holy shit. I am in the 13th largest city in the USA. This is the most-disgusting shit that I have EVER seen. FUCK my FLGS. I will never give them one dollar, ever again. I was creeped-the-fuck out by you people.
I would rather play a game made out of dildos produced from my own turds. What the fuck is wrong with gaming? Holy-fucking-shit.
I have never been this creeped by anything since spiders.
Triggered. Where the FUCK is my safe space, and how many points are we playing for?
I desperately want my FLGS to go out of business, and the whole thing to run on people to-whom I am never connected, over the internet.
