Sylveon: Gay As Fuck/10
So fa/tg/uys im running a campaign based in the medieval world but with fantasy/mythological elements (to be precise it starts in 1180) So let's talk about medieval monsters. Wich one is your favourite? why? is there any you would like to see on a game?
mine are blemmyes and are a race in our game

What are your favorite airships /tg/?
Mine's dieselpunkand lost technology.
>>50426270
I don't really care for them, but I did like A Princess of Mars and its light-powered airships.
Requesting the pic with the airship running on fire elementals. Surrounded by a ring of fire.

You ever hear of "fancloth"? It's an idea that some futurists have proposed for nanotech-based flying machines. You get a wire mesh like a screen door, and in every empty space you put a tiny propeller. The result is a ducted fan with an enormous surface area. Probably not at all feasible, but it's cool. I like the idea of a lighter than air vehicle (if we're using nanotech anyway, might as well have the frame itself be lighter than air through vacuum vessicles instead of needing a gasbag) with these huge sails extending out perpendicular from its central axis in every direction. The sails are fancloth, so rather than being at the whim of any errant breeze they can push against the current. Generate their own wind, so to speak.
Since apparently we have wizards poking around out there in the real world, what are some wizard things you might find out in the world?

If you're looking for interesting material about this kind of thing possibly check out China Mieville's body of work. I've been reading Kraken and it's like all about a magical underworld and how it leaks through the cracks into normal life.
examples:
>weirdly behaving animals are actually familiars who have gone on strike
>a man speaks into a mailbox and a streetlight flashes a message in morse code
>etc
it's hard to talk about without spoiling something.
We're currently in the Underdark.
As soon as we got here some hidden dude started pelting us with sleep poison.
What can I do as a level 9 Fire Genasi cleric other than neutralize poison every turn to fuck these probable Drow?

Protection from Arrows.
Daylight.
Being more stealthy and terrain-wise than the stealthy Drow who live there (or find guides who are).
Diplomance the attackers into helping you instead (particularly unsafe).
We're playing on the Sword Coast in the Forgotten Realms and I wanted to surprise the players a lot by rearranging the major cities so that one race is the majority in places that are usually defined as human-majority. So basically some cities are controlled by "monsters" (not necessarily all evil) and demihumans.
>Waterdeep - human.
>Neverwinter - elven.
>Baldur's Gate - half-orcs.
>Mithral Hall et al. - dwarves.
>Najara - yuan-ti and other lizardoids.
>Yartar - goblinoids.
>Luskan - tieflings.
>Elturgard - aasimar.
>Dragonspear - undead.
>Orogoth - intelligent trolls (Scandinavian kind).
>Iraeabor/Proskur/etc. - dragonoids (half-dragons, kobolds, actual dragon-dukes).
Each of these would be a metropolis for their respective race, and would vary in alignment and allegiance. Any ideas for which other cities/races would make good combos?
>>50424493
So is this a stupid idea or will it make the sword coast a bit more unpredictable and fun?
>>50424988
I guess it would depend a lot on what your players cared about.
to me, FR isn't hugely interesting and I don't know or care particularly much about the characteristics of those locations (despite playing NWN and BG as a kid), so mixing things up like that 1) wouldn't really mean anything, and 2) would probably take away from whatever demographic-balancing exists in normal FR
overall I think it's much more about what you do with it than whether it's a good idea or not. if you can make each of those factions and locations interesting and have their relationships related to the race you're assigning them, it could be cool. if you're just pasting X race into a city and not changing anything about how it runs, it would probably be dull
either way I'm tempted to say you'd be better off just coming up with your own setting, but again I don't know that much about FR so I'm probably missing something
I am feeling pretty sadistic at the moment, so let's make a DEldar kabal

Looks like we are some new kids on the block.
>Current Archon (d10)
Rolled 8 (1d10)
>>50423846
I'm actually in the process of making up an army I fluffed with these tables. I love the DEldar.
Has anyone tried Varg's RPG?
Is it any good?
I'd put it on the same level as FATAL except it's less amusing. It also seems he didn't get someone to proofread it so the English is spotty.
Don't waste your money on it.

Roughly how many points is say, 20 rubrics, 15 rubrinators, 3 rhinos, 3 sorcerers and Ahriman?
I'd like to know how much points that core formation is to actually kit out for reroll ones on saves.

in the nature of the thread, I shall act like Mr Rogers would want me to:
>Immortality
Once per week you must do a genuinely positive act, something that brightens up a person's day
>Money
Other people's happiness is turned into a source of income
>True love
She is a bum you rescued from the streets. She doesn't have any diseases, don't worry. She does like taking all the change in your purse.
>Gifted
Cheering someone up with a compliment
>Magical equipment
Your own negative emotions are suppressed when you wear it. You can't feel hunger, tiredness, anger etc.
So, who are these guys in red circle?
>>50422891
Seems like Custodes but with black armor. Almost look like Thunder Warriors to me though.
>>50422891
ya they should be Custodes
>>50422891
They could be any of 10,000 seasoned veterans the emps took to battle with him. Literally anyone.
Does your team have followers?
Who created them, and how did they join the team? What do they do to make themselves useful?
Are they expendable packmules or precious allies?
This thread is for the lawful squires, kidnapping victims and other tagalongs. Post anecdotes and ideas on how to play followers.
Stories about your animal companions/mounts/familiars/etc. are also welcome.
>>50422216
yeah
in our star wars campaign, we've got ahold of a massive transport ship by pulling some serious favours and have crewed it with plenty of men recruited from various places we've helped and ''helped'' in the local starsystems
on a more personal level, we only really have an apprentice - he was a force sensitive just meditating in our ship's makeshift temple when through plot shit our generator got fucked up, our engines cut out, and we started drifting towards a planet's surface with about 12 hours on the clock before touchdown.
to buy us some time, me and the other force user in the team decided to go to the temple and pull off some serious fucking 'move object' shenanigans.
we blitzed our chakras and by using about 3 force points each on top of one roll of 20 and one roll of 18, we'd slowed down the ship's descent and accidentally turned the meditating force sensitive into a proper level 1 user through the sheer amount of power being channeled through the room.
that dude's following the other force user around now since he's an actual jedi and i'm not, and i can't be arsed to train an apprentice since i have a whole medical team to manage (and also to upstage with my literal magic)
beyond that, our following is largely kept to the background and out of the main party, although we still interact with them a fair bit.
>>50422216
I used to be a bit wary of followers, since I was afraid of falling into the DMPC trap. But I've now taken habits regarding them, and I think they can improve the game, if played properly.
In my last campaign, my players "adopted" a NPC (a gnome alchemist) who was in some deep trouble. They helped her get out of it, and she helped them by providing random potions from time to time, keeping watch over the mounts, etc.
In my current campaign, one PC bought a slave so another could have a wife. Neither the slave nor the PC are really on board with this plan, so they're both pretending, and doing nothing more. They gave her weapons so she could help in fights, and they treat her rather well, so she stays as an auxiliary fighter.
In both of those cases, I realized the follower was a useful addition. It's not that they're doing stuff the PCs couldn't do by themselves ; it's more that they can do stuff the PCs aren't assed to do by themselves, like carrying messages, watching the entrance of dungeons, etc.
Another good thing that came out of them is that, whenever a PC is incapacitated, I can hand them the follower's sheet so they have something to do in the meantime.
The rule I'm using for leveling those characters for now is half the PCs' levels, rounded down. So they stay useful, they just can't outshine the players. It works rather well so far.
>>50422216
We tried doing followers, the problem being that everyone ended up with 3 and some people can't handle NOT having a sultry underage romance with themselves during combat
So... GURPS yeah?
>>50421645
I haven't even gotten around to watching Drifters, but knowing the premise, yes, GURPS.
>>50421669
Stop shilling GURPS! Why does /tg/ keep shilling GURPS?!
>>50423139
Because for some reason no one likes Savage Worlds? I'm actually unsure as to why /tg/ doesn't like it, can someone explain?
I was thinking of how silly/cool it would be if Space Marines rode atop of giant guinea pig mounts. Could their spines handle the weight of a space marine?
>>50421334
You're willing to include giant guinea pigs as mounts (armored, too, according to the pic), yet you're worrying about mundane things such as broken spines?
They're either gene-enginereed archeotech, radioactive mutants or xenos beast. Go wild with it OP, it's your story.
>>50421334
no but neither could wolves so whatever
Your setting is now invaded by giant guinea pigs in dragon costumes.
what will happen.
