HUH!
I am looking for a simple android app to play poker with my friends.
Im talking like friends that are physically present with me at a bar or party. im talking like easy registration and an app that is not run by an actual casino.
>>50411471
to be fair this is sort of a middle ground
i need a /v/ related app to play a /tg/ related game
>>50411433
>friends that are physically present
What exactly are you wanting the app to do that a deck of cards and some chips doesn't? You just don't want to carry a poker set? Are you interested in some kind of stat-tracking or calculation aspects?
Hey /tg/, I need a fantasy game that isn't d&d. I don't mind crunch tho the harder it is to min/max the better. My party lately has been really garbage lately with making characters that one or two shot everything and it's getting annoying trying to balance encounters fairly so things don't go down that fast.
Fantasy Craft. Hands down.
>>50411156
Everything can be abused/minmaxed. If you want something different, something more medieval, I recommend Harnmaster.
>>50411462
He said a fantasy game that's NOT D&D.
TL;DR - Rule systems for chases and pursuits
Apologies in advance if this has been asked and answered a bunch. I was trying to look at other systems outside D&D and what they do well, and came across a YouTube video discussing how action isn't just combat, but there are chases and pursuits.
I was curious if you all had your own homebrews or know of currently existing systems that handle chases or actions that isn't just combat really well?

dont you ever apologize for anything, newfag
>came across a YouTube video discussing how action isn't just combat, but there are chases and pursuits.
lel, lindybeige
>TL;DR - Rule systems for chases and pursuits
don't do that twice, man. anyway, spycraft supposedly has good(?), crunchy generic chase rules. personally, I always thought that Ninjas & Superspies (in spite of being Palladium) had fun car chase rules. Finally, I think Savage Worlds has an interesting splatbook for setting up action (even though plenty is combat-related) in Perilous Places & Serious Situations.
Agent 13 had good car chases. You might also want to check out car wars.
GURPS has good chase rules in Action 2.
What are your ideal initial hands /tg/?
Black Lotus
Mox Sapphire
Island
Battle of Wits
Underground sea
dark ritual
Entomb
Exhume

Replace meme puma with something big like an emrakul and that's actually a pretty fucking decent turn 1 strat.
Can't imagine trying to build a deck around it though.
“Do not take pride in our strength, it is nothing but the enabling factor of our grim and glorious fate, our most solemn duty.
The Emperor did not create us to retake the stars, to put things right, he created us out of spite, and a twisted sense of poetry.
‘One last blade forged in defiance of fate,’ that’s what he called us, and no other description matches it.
The Imperium will fall, oh yes, it will fall. The Men of the Guard, the Sisters of the Sororitas with their short flashing lives have no inkling of it, even the Astartes can blind themselves to it if they want to, but we live longer than all of them, and we fight against a scale of evil and terrible power beyond the ken of any other military body or knightly order, and slowly we see the grand pattern that unfolds across the stars, and behind them. Man will swept over by a tide of xenos, faithless rogues, and deeper, darker things.
When all others are rended down to shattered bone, we will stand.
When the brave men of the Guard are vast mountains of rotting meat, we will stand.
When the Astartes are ash in blackened armour, we will stand.
And when the cities of man are nought but raging bonfires, and the flame is all the light there is, we will stand..
That is what we are for, and all our victories are but prologue to that day.
We shall speak the final words of Man, and strike his final blows. We will fight on when all others have fallen, and in the hell around us we shall envy them their rest.
And we shall fall ourselves, having hurt the darkness just a little more, but more than any others code have hoped to. That is our fate and purpouse. To be a fitting full stop at the end of the great record of human history.
And I swell with pride that we have been entrusted with that duty.”
Is that from a codex/novel, or OC?
>>50410537
OC, wrote it just because I thought of it and liked the whole 'one last spear forged in defiance of faith' take, cause it kinda gives the mary-sueisnhness of the grey knights a proper thematic place in a dark setting. Then I posted it here cause if you can't publish you may as well post and if it's 40K you may as well post it here

Why is it that the Chaos Space Marines only have access to the Phobos, Proteus and Achilles Land Raider variants? The Crusader and Redeemer patterns have comparatively simple modification that shouldn't be difficult for a Warpsmith to replicate and the Dark Mechanicum should have gotten ahold of at least one of the Prometheus or Helios variants to reverse-engineer through capture, theft or one of the Imperium chapters turning traitor.
>>50409436
Good lord the Taurox looks retarded. Has anybody converted it to look slightly less shit?
On the note of conversion, I had the idea that I'd convert Neophyte Hybrids and a Magus to Chaos Cultists. Think people are gonna fuss over that? If so, good.
First for the Tau did nothing wrong
Beeple-beep beep! Why would anyone in the imperium think the grey knights are the equals to the custodes? The emperor saw them each individually as works of art. They are stronger, faster, and tougher than the grey knights as well. So why the confusion?
>>50409354
Custodes are Thunder Warriors+. Grey Knights are Space Marines+. They're different beasts. Custodes were trained by the Emperor, but Grey Knights have the Emperor's geneseed. Thunder Warriors are the ultimate warrior, but Grey Knights are the ultimate weapon against Chaos. I don't know if Custodes even have psykers, Grey Knights are all psykers. Custodes stand around the fanciest palace in all of creation, Grey Knights go out and get real world practice every day.
Do you see what I'm saying?
>>50409401
Somewhat. It's also hinted that the custodes were created using the emperors genecode.
>>50409401
Is there not lore stating that Custodes are fighting a constant war in the Palave dungeons where Daemons are spilling through the ruined Webway?
Do you think it's wrong to set the PCs up against an invincible monster or enemy, like those boss battles from old JRPGs where you're supposed to lose? Is it too close to railroading? I would only considering doing it to actually make it seem like they're up against a very dangerous and powerful foe.
>>50409262
It can be done right, but only if you don't enclose them and cut off any escape routes.
THEN it's railroading.
>>50409262
Expect them to find a way to kill it. They probably won't, but always be wary.
>>50409262
It's fine, but as others have noted, player mentality usually doesn't consider a fight unwinnable unless proven beyond the shadow of doubt. Unless you are extremely clear about the imbalance of the fight, they'll probably try to tackle it anyway.
Best way to handle an unstoppable foe is to introduce alternate stakes, like the protection of an important location or item. Alternately, even an invincible monster can be driven off. Long story short, giving the players a (clear, apparent) route to move forward is essential, especially if that doesn't include actually slaying the enemy.
Sup/tg/, I was thinking about my first RPG session and I had a few questions. The session went like this:
>4 person session, playing homebrew with friends
>Arrive bearing Arizona green tea and Cosmic Brownies (the food, not the shake)
>DM gives me the evil eye, I don't know why until much later
>Look at homebrew
>The baseline human race has much better stats than the other races, which suck
>Casters are overpowered to the max
>Seeing group of almost all archers, I play a mage knight
>Med armor allows me to be slightly tanky, 2H weapon proficiency allows me to save skill points for magic, choose ice and lightning crowd control spells
>So basically, I am excellent in single close combat, and strong when dealing with mobs at midrange- areas in which the party is lacking
>I also have an obnoxious French accent, because it's my first time playing and I'm stupid like that
>Session starts, everyone is in a fucking brothel
>Have to sit through copious amounts of fade to black, get bored and start playing Dueling Network
>2 fucking hours until that segment is done
>Then fire mage DMPC and his shapeshifted dragon waifu appear on the scene
>Dragon waifu insults my character
>I'm pissed at that point, I in-character insult the waifu
>ohfuck.jpg
>Orcs invade about half hour later, when we're sleeping
>My character charges into streets to try to save civilians while most of the party ignores me (one just gets back to sleep, one tries to hide, but the other attacks from the window like a bro)
>Suddenly, DMPC steps forward with waifu!
>Dragon incinerates 3 orcs with fire breath, DMPC fireballs another two
>Attack mob with chain lightning
>lolwut, orcs have lightning resistance
>They mob my character in melee, I am dead after DMPC fireballs me
>Rant at DM, leave
>Never talked to that DM again
Was I That Guy? Was the DM That Guy? Were we all a party of That Guys?
Pic unrelated.
I hope you still play RPGs because not all DMs are retarded like that.
>>50409230
While it sounds like you might have been annoying, your GM sounds like monumental faggot. You do NOT kill a PC, especially with some shitty DMPC instakill.
Also the shithead that went
>"orcs attack? yeah, I'll sleep"
just triggers me.
If you were playing him as Monty Python as possible your behavior is forgivable. DM killing your character and the rest of the party outright ignoring heroing duty is total asshat behavior.
Would a lava forge even be useful for anything?
Outside of looking cool, that is.
>>50408581
They aren't even that good at looking cool, IMO. They're better at lookingHot.
>>50408581
How the fuck is anyone in that room even alive?
>>50408581
I rarely use them.
Unless I embark on a volcano by the time I've reached the magma sea my Fortress tends to already be impregnable.

Why are pathfinder GMs mean to paladins?

Because they aren't full-casters.

Bad GMs are mean to paladins.
Guys, I've fixed cavaliers:
When dismounted, the horse becomes like a ranger or druid's pet, able to attack and receiving bonuses.
>>50407900
Historically, didn't dragoons have to tie their horses to stakes they pinned down in the ground and leave a handful of attendants behind to keep the horses from spooking?
Horses aren't combative creatures.
>>50407900
Isn't that exactly what PF does? MOunt Functions as an animal companion (see druid) using cav as druid levels? You just don't have an empathetic link
>>50408055
Most animals are spooks.
Most warhorses weren't trained to fight because it made them harder to control in battle.
Not exactly a good thing when you're trying to wheel around and your horse decides it'd rather kick the head in of some guy.
