Under their shoulder plate armor?

Your favorite regiment /tg/? Why? I go to Kriegers for style, Cadians for skills.

Someone did another thread shitting on Catachans and subsequently admitted that he was a fan of them but resorted to shitposting to get replies, which I find kinda sad.

So let's have a good thread.

No. Usually I spend my time walking away from dumpster fires.

A couple of times, although it's always been pretty mutual. If I call someone on their bullshit and the response is to turn on me rather than dealing with the actual problem, they're probably not worth playing with.

Sure, several times. Some of them were completely my fault, some weren't. It happens. I don't have high expectations from online game groups I find on 4chan.

>>50387500
Does it count as 'evil opposite' when they're exact duplicates that are only mirroring the actions of the party?

By which I mean punching their duplicate in the face. Repeatedly.

Wasn't the water bender born without arms?

I like this idea, and taking more queues from the image I like the idea even more that they're the same kind of party but their senior and have become corrupted or incredibly jaded about the world.

What can be some good uses for bombs that flash freezes shit down to the bone instead of just a standard explosion? Why would a military reduce a city into a ice statue museum rather than just a crater? Would such a weapon be considered more or less cruel than regular bombings?
11 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>50423253

Minimal damage to structures and infrastructure as opposed to having a crater to conquer.

Minimal opposition from occupying citizenry.

Cleanup is mostly done via evaporation or sweeping up shattered shards instead of hauling burnt bodies to a mass grave.

I can think of a lot of reasons, actually...
>>
>>50423253
Ice thaws. If it leaves buildings intact, and doesn't irradiate anything to boot, it'd be pretty useful.
>>
>>50423253
If it kills instantly, then no. If it really just froze everything instantly, then the person probably wouldn't even suffer that long.

Practical application seems iffy though. If the target has some biomatter or something that you would like to study at a later time, it may be useful to preserve it frozen until that time and not risk contamination.

I'm bored.

Question: What if I made a smallish RPG using the graphics I own and mostly stock music.

Basically, just a parody/love letter of sorts to DnD-esque 90's RPG's (like Black Isles ones, for example.) Just something really ridiculous and off the wall.

In other words: If I made an RPG designed to be inherently kinda ridiculous, would y'all wanna play it?

I included a mock screenshot, just so you'd get what it'd look like.

The concept'd be fairly ridiculous. A whole guild that takes booty pictures of wild/dangerous beasts, instead of wolves, there'd be loosely indentified huskies, etc.

There'd also be an optional needs system with urination in it. Yes, that means outhouses in towns. The quests would also have (at least) 2 endings/ways of completion. I'd love to see how far I could get an RPG like that, hell, I'd love to even attempt to get it on Steam Greenlight.

What do you guys think? Any strong opinions?

>>
sure, why not?
just don't rely too heavily on the "parody" thing, nobody likes that
>>
Well... I dunno. I'd like to do something comedy related. A traditional comedy RPG would be fairly rare, y'know? At least, compared to serious ones. I kinda feel the market's saturated as it is, and I don't feel like there's much of a gap to fit in. I'd have to make something exceptional to do that with a serious RPG, and I don't have the time and the motivation to do that.

I really just want to create something fun, but ultimately not to be taken seriously. It'll probably go into parody territory, but I'll try not to go overboard.

In other words, people who've never played a traditional RPG probably would find it fun/amusing, but it's being developed from the perspective of someone who plays a lot of 90's RPG's, if that makes any sense.

Only input I could give is just avoid as much meta humor as possible. Try to write characters and dialogue so that the situations they get into is natural, without relying on references to outside sources that your characters wouldn't know. This, again, is a personal thing, but the moment I see a fantasy character quoting Monty Python's The Holy Grail, I immediately begin frowning in reaction.

Let your characters and their environment create the humor for you.

I don't need to prove you wrong, your flagrantly incorrect opinions are right there for all to see.

If you yourself were thrust into a generic fantasy world and forced to act as a PC in real situations, what class would you choose knowing you'd have to stick with it forever and ever? Note that you'd have all the physical and mental tributes you do now, right down to the neckband.

Sorcerer, I guess.

I'm not particularly intelligent and of generally average strength and dexterity, but I have a pretty good constitution, I'm a fairly determined person, and I'm quite good at talking bullshit and getting people to listen to me.

So it's either Sorcerer or Bard, but the only musical instrument I play is the piano and I can't very well carry that around with me.

Is it possible to have a Jainist paladin? Or is there simply no possible way to rationalise violence (whether reactive or proactive) in Jainism? I've seen at least one notation that suggests violence is acceptable but only in the most extreme cases of self defense when all diplomacy has been exhausted.

Or could one rationalize accepting more Bandha upon one's soul, so as to reduce the suffering and bandha of others, and so doing commit violence of righteousness knowing it damns your Karma?

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Nope.

In Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny, Sam gived a speech on good, evil, beauty and ugliness to the the followers of the buddha, arguing that to fight for beauty would not violate their principles. It is quite near the beginning of the book, but it is well worth the whole read. New wave science fiction at its finest.

If by "paladin" you mean "knight in shining armour fighting in direct physical combat against the evils of the world", then fuck no.
Besides, that's just cape shit crammed into pseudo-knighthood.

If you ask if you can have a Jainist guy that is genuinely good person helping everyone around, the answer is... still no. Because this is very, VERY self-absorbed philosophy, since you focus on your own "salvation" while trying not to disrupt or kill anything around you.

Same shit applies to early forms of Buddhismm, the Indian ones - they are so fucking selfish it's just amazing Buddhism passes as "the compassion religion" nowdays.

So why is there people that keep insisting that 40k is a deep, well constructed and serious setting?

This baffels me. It's batshit silly, ironic and hyperbolic in most aspects. One of the running jokes is that the Imperium is operated like Weekend at Bernie's and dadjokes everywhere.

Can paladins lie?
67 posts and 12 images submitted.
>>
Only on their back.
>>
>>50417200
Depends on the particulars of their oath, but generally they have leeway to do so but will strive for honesty when it doesn't endanger others.
>>
>>50417200
No. Lying as an act is intrinsically against the code of a lawful good paladin.

A single lie should not cause them fall, but they should not be allowed to make a habit of lying, and should attempt to repent whenever they happen to be required to lie.
