So I'm running a D&D5e campaign where my main villian is a thousand year old Lich who's attempting to complete a ritual that will ascend him to godhood and wipe out all life on the planet in the process. I'm having one of my friends outside of the group play as my Lich and I want to come up with about a hundred different tasks that this ritual requires. Some of them will be simple enough, like to retrieve a rare flower from a mountaintop, some will be utterly absurd like kill a virgin gnome using a certain sacrificial dagger while a specific constellation or planet is in a formation that only happens once every hundred years or so, things like that. Any help coming up with ritual tasks would be greatly appreciated.

/tg/ builds a Hive world with massive Slaanesh presence.
Arcadia was a Jungle covered planet on its way to becoming your usual Hive world. It was covered by massive cities and jungle was actively cut, polluted and burned to leave space for more human underhive scum.
Untill some peasants scared by the jungle had the bright idea to start sacrificing people to it. Which attracted Slaanesh attention and utterly fucked the planet.
Few centuries later the jungle evolved and fights against Imperial expansion. Radioactive waste now is something new glowing Flora adores. You cut an hector of the Jungle only to discover a hector of your hive on the opposite side of the planet was overtaken by green vines. Underhive is full of mutant clans and the Governor is too scared of Inquisition to call it for help.
I want to make a world where mutations happened (so it was somehow exposed to Slaanesh) and then life had time to spread and evolve and only the ones that adapted remained.
I need help with how to do this.

Not much, I'm afraid. It's a pretty uncommon opening, and I'm more of a d4 guy myself. On the rare occasion I do play e4, I think that Nf3 is enormously stronger.

After years of it being dead, I finally played this game, and here are my thoughts.
Fuck you, /tg/. Fuck you for convincing me that this wasn't worth playing. Fuck you for convincing me that this was the worst thing ever created.
It wasn't perfect, but it was fun. All those immersion breaking things /tg/ bitched about for years didn't even register once I was playing the game. They were just part of the flow. Within an hour of playing, I understood the "language" of the game and all the vitriol just seemed silly.

To play devils advocate for just a moment, that you had a great experience with it doesn't invalidate the experience of others. If people really have immersion as fragile as they claim, shattered whenever they have to actually interact with a mechanic, then I feel sorry for them.
But on the whole, awesome you tried it and glad you enjoyed it OP. It really is a damn shame that such a gem of a game got shit on for so long, and yet recently it seems like more and more people are realising just how good we had it with 4e.

The best way to start is by taking their mythology and seeing what part of it is gamifiable. With such a huge empire, of course you will find a lot of internal diversity. Most things will be tolerated, as long as they are in the name of the emperor and all gods accept to be inferior emanations of Ahura-Mazda.
On the other hand, you already have 300, where the empire is "evil", but delivers enough bizarre fantasy races to start with.
If you are a weeaboo, you can also use Magi, which is very much of a dungeon crawler.

/wg/ maybe shouldn't be on the list, as it's pretty benign, but I put it under Tzeentch because of how pointless it might seem to many people to collect wallpapers
Also /wg/ is pretty good at lifting your spirits
