Kambal, because I play him, but I don't play him oppressively enough that other players cannot keep casting spells.
It always results in them losing half their life and me ending up with 80+ while I do absolutely nothing, and then it starts being an Archenemy game which I cannot deal with.

Not arguing which is the better system for RPGs or anything like that here, but I have a question for you /tg/.
What gaming system (and edition if applicable) do you think has/had the best Dungeon/Game Master Guide in the sense it properly told a newbie DM how to world build, adventure build, story build, and encounter build given the game's system in such a way that many of the lessons learned from that book made them an overall better DM in regards to gaming in general?

Toss up for me, personally.
Dungeon World, for all of its massive amount of flaws, really did drive home some rock solid advice for DM's and the book is worth a read for anyone looking to run most RPG settings in that it teaches you how to do shit on the fly far better than most other systems do and that is a huge part of being a DM. No matter how well you lay out your plans, the players will find a way to do shit you didn't anticipate the bulk of the time and you need to be able to respond to such actions on the fly. So a general idea of what you want is more important than specifics.
Dungeon World nails that aspect of DM'ing well.
Shit system for a lot things, but DM advice ain't one of them.

The other book would be Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 3E Game Master Guide.
Quick adventure generation, making flowcharts for multiple paths, handling chase mechanics, investigation mechanics, party cohesion, and other really important factors are well thought out and good advice offered on all of them.
It won't teach you how to DM on the fly like Dungeon World will, but it will teach you how to have multiple paths in most any scenario and still press the game forward.

Alright /teegee/, I've got a problem. I'm going to be playing in a Pathfinder game soon, but I'm having a disagreement with my DM. Originally, I wanted to play a Gunslinger but my DM told me that the Gunslinger class was banned from her games. When he wouldn't explain why, I asked if I could play a Fighter who uses early firearms (flintlock pistols especially) and she refused that as well. At first, she claimed that there would be balance issues but I couldn't believe that. Early firearms weren't that powerful after all.
It took a bit of discussion but eventually the DM gave me the real answer. She claims that guns don't "belong" in a fantasy setting, and having them there would just create drama and arguments.
So, /tg/, is she correct? Can you have guns in a fantasy setting without balance issues or problems with tone?

Best? Well I suppose that depends on the style of game you'd be going for. If it's fighting robots you want, you could always steal from Battletech or Pacific Rim, alternately you could modify Engine Heart or Mutants and Masterminds (and everyone play Transformers in the latter or their plucky human sidekicks.)

Shut up. You shouldn't be DMing. Your players are trying to make something interesting out of your generic, heteronormative fantasy, and you're throwing it back in their faces. You have NO right to be DMing - just give your notes to one of your players, they can do a better job than you can.
TL/DR, if you can't handle gays in fantasy settings, you shouldn't be a DM.

Yesterday evening I experienced my first TPK. In the dungeon the group was exploring, we had a difficult encounter and were all killed.
Party:
>lvl 7 Half-orc barbarian
>lvl 7 human fighter
>lvl 7 half-elf bard
>lvl 7 dwarf
We encountered a medusa, a giant snake and a flesh golem. We all rolled con saves because of medusa's gaze and the bard and barb do not make theirs. So after a couple of turns, half the party is stone and the others got their shit kicked in by the medusa, snake and flesh golem.
I was not very immersed in the campaign anymore so I didn't feel torn up about it. And since my character got turned into a statue two turns in, I stopped paying attention and read a manga, muted.
All in all, I don't know wether I want to continue playing or if I will stop. In any case: have you experienced TPK before? How did you feel in the creeping realization that the whole group was going to get reckt? How do you feel about it now? Have you caused or GMd a TPK?

Never had any TPKs nor have I ever caused any. It's really only OK for endgame stuff to carry a risk of TPK, otherwise it's just not a very good story. There's exceptions of course, but generally speaking it's not fun.

It's not uncommon in settings for humanoid monsters to eat humans - but does it ever go the other way about? Do humans eat any monster races in your settings?
I feel people would mostly avoid eating anything too recognisably like themselves, like mermaids, but other stuff might be fair game. And of course cannibal cultures probably eat anything.
