Today I found this 1983 35mm film Nikon AF L35 camera.

Its very dusty but it seems to still work.

1) Is this an ok camera to start trying out photography with? Is the fact its a film camera bad for a newbie like me?

2) How should I care/maintenance an old camera like this? Do I need to take special precuations?

3) How do I clean it without damaging the lens?

Thanks for reading.

I think the best thing for you to do is go to the most nearby store and just have it checked and ask for instructions there. Then you will be absolutely sure it works and instructions will be more clear.
>>
the camera you use to take the photo of this camera will be better than some old film point and shoot.

I only have a smartphone (Galaxy S5) which I use to take pictures. Is that really objectively superior to this film camera?

Some photos of friends I make, sometimes at parties (when asked), other times just when hanging out. Your opinion? Your own work?

There was a thread on here about modeling tips and people were saying they got models from Instagram. I've messaged about 85 girls and only 3-4 responded, and so far none have agreed to do a shoot.

How would a good message read? What kind of response rate can you expect?

these are all sooc jpegs except for some sharpening and distortion correction. I set the camera to vivid profile, high saturation and high contrast.

I shot RAW + JPEG 1.6 so these are just the small jpegs

wow thats cucked. i always pay the auctions i win. maybe your item is so undesirable people get buyers remorse immediately after winning it. you should put it on buy it now and low price.

I've got a really odd photography related question. Does anyone know how they make or even what the textured finish on is called?

It's a distinctive pattern and I have no idea how they do it.

They include a texturing agent in the paint. It's a lot like the textured finishes for things like garage floors.

It's not but it looks like vulcanite.

Wouldn't be surprised if it is vulcanite and if it had asbestos in it

Can someone tell me how the fuck Architectural Photographers get such clean, crisp natural looking images?

The best is Candida Hofer, but don't tell anyone that she's a genre photographer. She's a capital-A Artist.

Anyway, the way that architectural photographers get such clean, crisp images is because, typically, they're shooting clean crisp subjects. Also, it doesn't hurt to use a tripod and f/8.

Redpill me on the Ricoh GR ii. How can I keep dust from ruining my image fidelity and how can I remove dust if it gets inside?

That's a GR, not GRII,

Opening one up to remove dust is really easy. Google it.

My solution for the dust problem was getting one of those filters you stick to the lens. It has a minimal impact on IQ (slightly worse flare is all I've noticed), but more than compensates for that because no longer is air (and dust) sucked in when the lens extends.
You could also get Ricoh's own filter adapter and put on a higher quality threaded filter, but it makes the camera no longer pocketable and the adapter is overpriced as fuck.

I've carried my GR in my pocket nearly every day since I bought it. Before I had the filter I had to remove dust twice in like 4 months (!). Haven't had any dust since.

Buy the 21mm adapter and keep it on the front forever so it cant suck in dust then you can pretend you own the GR21
