Best shot of the elbphilharmonie I've seen yet. Nice. I also think white borders work well when theres greyish sky.
>>3060436
thanks. i wouldve also taken it if the elbphilharmonie wasnt there, what really fascinated me were the houses hanging over the water.

Thats what I meant, the building itself is so gigantic, yet that photo makes it look part of the scene, it almost doesnt matter its there.
>>3061107
ah, thanks for the explanation then.
>>3060514
It's still a lot better than the stuff in the rpt or even some trips own threads.
Good work anon.
Loving them, keep posting anon
You know that scene in movies where some idiot with glasses takes out his travel slides to show a bunch of guests, and everybody moans, but he does it anyways? That's what you're doing right now. Sentimental value is of no value to strangers.
What kind of camera are you using anon?
>>3063731
thats Schalfkogel, Hochgurgl, Alps
second one is the two Riffllakes with view to the Gepatschferner in Kaunertal, Alps
>>3063862
i see your point for some of them. but some strangers seem to enjoy the less sentimental ones and even some of the ones i printed jsut for memorial reasons, so i guess its ok to piss you off.

thanks. i will make another thread when i have something new. maybe the sports stuff from last weekend, tho i'm not sure if that's very interesting to you guys.
>>3064170
I want to point something out to you. I gave you meaningful feedback. It might have been brusque, but that's usually what it takes for someone to spend any amount of thought on critique online. Most people on this thread are doing one of two things: 1) asking technical questions that don't matter 2) Saying very generically that they like 'em. What does this give you to work with? Nothing. The fact that your rebuttal is "some strangers seem to enjoy them, so I guess it's ok if you don't" is completely the wrong way to think about art making. How can you improve without self-reflection? How will bland, generic affirmation cause self-reflection? Even the people who say they like them, will they spend more than 30 seconds with these images? If it were printed, how valuable would these be to anyone beyond yourself. If that's all they're for, that's fine. But then why are you imposing them on other people? I'm not pissed off. I'm bored. Every person will see trillions of images before they die. Every day, we are looking at the world, and seeing new combinations of things. If you want to be a photographer, your goal should be making images that last, creating things that will stick with people. As a photojournalist, that means documenting so people remember and know what happened. As just an artist, it means images that impart some kind of meaning, information beyond the literal. Photographs as frozen memory cannot survive outside the personal realm, so why put them there?
>>3064343
very interesting and rewarding for someone who is experienced enough. we did it on skis during the winter. A bit avalanche risky in the peak region but totally worth it.Nice that you recognized the other area, it’s a rather uncommon view.
thanks for your interest and feedback.
>>3064352
Well i think you saw that your meaningful feedback didn’t reach it's target. Why should i value some uncommented movie analogy more than some unfounded anon comments which says they like my pictures?
What did this give me to work with? Nothing.
i understand i am not a great artist, hence maybe not even an artist, and i never said i was. i am not resting on these photos but i am proud of them. you could see them as a profile of what i shot last year.
And since /p/ had some influence on my way from technically bad documents of what i do, to (I think )at least technically acceptable documents, I shared them here.
i am sorry that these bore you, others somehow find them interesting. and you are wrong if you think i don’t strive for more and think i am on the pinnacle of my photography.
6 of my prints from last year are enjoyed by various people. Fair enough, 3 of them in Friends’ apartments, but of the other 3 one hangs in a lawyers office, who asked a friend of a friend If they knew someone with Landscape shots, and the other 2 in a doctors office in the next small town.
Sure they’re more accessories than pieces of art, but for that case they don’t need to be more.
>>3060432 was a try of putting something meaningful into a photo, but sans nobody ever really notices it i failed obviously, i will try again.
You looked for something in my Photos that you obviously not found, but still gave me nothing more as feedback than that they bore you and I should strive for more.
why don’t you give me a bit more to work with, so maybe next time when I post here you can enjoy my stuff aswell?
so if you could take more than 30 seconds and give me some real critique on these shots I am very happy to accept it.
>>3065430
>keep posting=something to work with
>personal value of a photo is unimportant=nothing to work with
Ok
>>3065551
Saying "I like it" or "I don't like it" is not valid criticism. If you don't say why, you haven't really said anything.
>>3065551
>keep posting=something to work with
never said that. i just told you that you didn't give me anything more than the others , so why do you value yourself above them?
i said in the op that i actually wanted these to be criticized, but i'm only human and i will take positive comments rather than negative ones. read "comments" because real critique is absent apart from you criticizing that i even posted these.
>>3065636
I told you the kind of photos you are making, and I gave you advice about thinking about what your photos offer to the viewer beyond their base aesthetic quality. You have taken personal travel photos, that have no real meaning for other people, at least in the way you have presented them. Looking for critique is different than looking for someone to hold your hand. My comment wasn't saying the photos are shit. I was hoping to make you a little more self-aware in your picture making. There is no discernible focus to your photos, and so the viewer is left saying "ok. But why?" I gave you a very important lesson that you dismissed, because the form it was given in was too harsh--sentimental value is not valuable beyond yourself. If you want to take photographs as memories, do so. If you want to take photographs to share and maybe sell, do something more. Be aware of your target audience. At this point, what else can I critique? You seem to have a solid technical proficiency. You gave no context for these images other than "Hey, i'm posting these, so look at them, I don't really care that much." As is, they're mostly generic. I gave you a lot more than the others, but you didn't want to hear it.
>>3065640
I am actually very thankful for this conversation.
your first post didn't give me anything more than the others. your explanations gave me a lot more.
i didnt and i dont want to come of as bitching.
You told me what to do, i take that... and i allready knew that, like i said i dont consider myself particularily good. some of these photos were better in the context of the threads i posted them in first, and some are only good with the story i have to tell with them.
but for now: just as i said, you told me what to do, how about some advice on how to do/ achieve that? that would really bring me further.
>>3063862
Good point. You shouldn't be wasting your time looking at some fags travelshits. You should be doing something more productive like killing your self.
