In New Zealand an annual photography competition is held each year by D-Photo Magazine.
Today I entered my entry in the junior category as part of the "Siamese" Collection I'm making.
If anyone could hop over and find my photo and give it a vote, it would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like shit, you illiterate cunt.
Ouch.
Just a few shots I did with a friend in an apocalyptic style shoot.
I am the "model", a term I use loosely, first one I've ever done.
Is the Fujifilm x100F worth the money? Thinking between a sigma Quattro or a x100f.
The x100 is pretty up there in price so I figure why not just spend more for the 24mp sensor upgrade, or maybe get a foveon system.
Bayer sensor cucks need not apply, see pic related for why.

Hello /p/,
My family and I (all camera illiterate fellows) are thinking about buying a camera and we are trying to choose between a:

Hey /p/holks,
I'm a Canon user and I'm looking for a wide angle lens for astro/landscape photography. I would prefer to go full frame capable as I want to transition from apsc eventually and weather proof is always nice. I am just finding that there are too many options to narrow down. Thanks!

I recently went to Bangkok and as a sort of challenge, I decided to ride to each station of the BTS Line (two main train lines in the city), giving myself 10 minutes in each to take pictures. With two breaks, it took around 10 hours and more than 900 pictures to finish it. I condensed them down to around 80 or so pictures, so please be patient with the dump.
Not really looking for thought out feedback for each of them with that amount but if there are any that stood out (positively or negatively), I'd be glad to hear that feedback.
Gonna be dumping in chronological order, starting with the Sukhumvit Line.

Hey folks,
I'm looking to purchase a new Sony Mirrorless camera to do cosplay photography with this summer. I've got a budget of roughly $2000 to spend on a new camera body plus whatever lenses I can squeeze in with the remainder.
So far I've narrowed it down to the a6500 or the a7 II. I had been waiting to see if Sony would announce an a7 III, but instead we've got the new a9 which while godly, is way out of my price range and overkill for my needs.
While there are some obvious big differences between the two bodies, I'd like to hear your reasoning for why I should choose one over the other. I'd also really appreciate some recommendations for what sort of glass I should try and get for either, keeping my main use case in mind.
I've already got an E 4.5-6.3/55-210 OSS and an E 3.5-5.6/PZ 16-50 OSS available to use. I've hardly ever had a good chance to make use of the 55-210. When it comes to lenses I don't really know what to look for. Advice in this area would be greatly appreciated!

A7ii, unless you're doing sport or wildlife, crop cameras at this price range make no sense.
Sell those 2 lenses, they're junk.
Buy 2nd hand but get it insured.
Ideally for cosplay you want fast lenses, you're gonna be in ugly environments in low light.
>>3061635
want to shoot 4k video?
a6500.
want full frame?
a7ii.
with full frame you can adapt old vintage lens straight away. with apsc you can get a zhongyi lens turbo 2. which is $150.
the 16-50 is junk. sell it.
you're not using the 55-210, sell it.
also consider fuji xt20 if you don't need a6500 fast af.
>>3061673
the 55-210 is quite good and sharp. it's just slow at the long end.
Hi /p/ i have a film slr with 400 black and white film and 1.2 f lens. What settings can i put my camera (aperture/shutter speeds/focus) so that i can use it as a point and shoot camera? I want to just snap as I go

>>3061567
Thank you for your informative reply
>>3061561
dial it to about F/5.6, and make sure you can focus as fast as you point, unless it's an AF enabled SLR.
Tony has confirmed https://twitter.com/tonynorthrup/status/855512293509132288
AF speed that rivals the D5, D500 and 1DXm2.
With AF points that cover 93% of the screen.
With higher framerate.
Without any OVF blackouts.
This shit is going to be epic-
>>3061486
God's useless. You must suck at photography to be that impress by 20fps
It must feel weird for Tony when he writes Sony.
It's rhyming with his own name, and is almost identical, except for 1 letter.
But the implication of this outcome means the future is promising for Medium Format, APS-C, 4/3. They all can gain the AF power of DLSR flagships "simply" because of sensor advancement.
>>3061489
Gods serve well as explanation for things we mortals cannot comprehend. This technology is beyond our understanding, Sony&Tony somehow made mirrorless AF no longer suck.
what's the advantage of a viewfinder in mirrorless cameras?
screens are bigger, they usually have higher resolution, they have more room for info like histograms or zone focus and it's easier to look at stuff that's not in the frame
why do people also go as far as adding optical viewfinders on some compact cameras like the GR?
>>3061438
cause holding the camera out in front of you makes you look like a fucking dork
>>3061444
It also makes your arms hurt if you are tracking anything over any length of time. But mirrorless cucks know nothing about this because the battery always runs out before they get there
>>3061438
>what's the advantage of a viewfinder in mirrorless cameras?
Easier to use in bright sunlight when a monitor might be washed out and for me at least, easier to steady and more natural to frame with. Most of your points for screens aren't true anyway so I find the only legitimate downside of an EVF is the loss of situational awareness when you have the other eye closed.
>screens are bigger
The physical size is of course, but you'd have to hold it incredibly close for the relative size to actually be larger than a typical EVF.
>they usually have higher resolution
What? They almost never do.
>they have more room for info like histograms or zone focus
Not really true except in cases where the above two are also true which is rare in reality.
Here's a dumb Superia 400 snapshit
The bottom is the lab scan, the top is how I expected it to look and how I treat it in post
What's going on here? Did I overexpose the shot?
Did the lab turn the brightness and change the tint too much during scanning?
Which one would you say is a better look?
Ignore that it's a dumb snapshit, it was just the most obvious example I could find
>>3061386
>Ignore that it's a dumb snapshit, it was just the most obvious example I could find
