recently I tried APX and I love how it looks
although I scanned this with cheap plastic lomography scanner and iphone5
must look different with an actual scanner I suppose?
also it's cheap compared to other ILFORDs and Kodak films
what's your favourite? and why?

Get a tripod. Put ISO on 100 and increase exposure time in Tv till you get the result that you want. Also use your timer to release shutter not to fuck up your shot by pressing the button.
And use raw to be able to edit them later. Aaaaaaaaand go fuck yourself you lazy piece of shit

Just bought a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8, and when changing the aperture, the blades closing or opening produce sound.

The AF is also very loud in live-view.

Is this normal?
11 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>3069676
No, it's not normal. It probably has fungus.
>>
>>3069676
The aperture blades might be warped, could happen when closed down and exposed to sunlight for some time. If you screww off the front element the whole optics come out and you can take a better look at the aperture blades and bend them back with your fingers. Just screw the optics back and you're good to go.

I think you ought to keep your photos isolated to one thread if you want good feedback and for everyone on /p/ to not hate you.

I also think your grasp of composition is shaky at best, that you think it's far more important to a photo than it actually is, that you aren't as good at compositon as you think you are, and that you're a slave to the gritty new york black and white meme.

I think the composition is wonderful, but the execution needs work. The only composition criticism I have is that it doesn't look level, which is an easy fix in post.

For execution, you have a lot of blown highlights and lens flare, which could be fixed with a quality neutral density filter. If you put on a 2 stop ND filter you could drop the aperture to f8 and get a sharper image. I would drop to ISO 100, maybe use a 3 stop filter, and push the shadows for a sharper and more balanced exposure. No need for grain.

You're on the right track, senpai. Shooting out onto the bright ocean is a lot of hard work to get just right.
>>
>>3069084
>>3069095
I forgot to mention to shoot in manual. Your camera will never be able to meter intelligently enough for a proper exposure on a shot like this.
>>
Thanks. Ill do some research on ND filters. I made the photo B/W and added grain because I've been researching photographers like Cartier-Bresson and Economopoulos and was tying to go for that vibe!

See? This is why you shouldn't fuck around with photoshop. You're constantly flirting with adding bullshit to your pictures. Souvid added shit and now look at him.
>>

If you start looking through his images you'll probably find that a large amount have been heavily edited to fit his narration. Completely changing the content and meaning of an image through manipulation and calling it photojournalism is terrible and can have serious consequences.

This guy has won many prestigious awards, and a huge amount of cash, because of his "photojournalism".

I am new to photography and i have a old zenit e. Seems like everything is working except it wont do the click sound when photographing and nothing changes - shutter speed dial dont move. Maybe someone knows solution to that?
14 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
If it doesn't click then the shutter is busted. Throw away and buy another camera. If you want to repair the Zenit, it will cost more than the camera itself
>>
>>3068713
Put it in the bin.

Zenits are a dime a dozen (literally in russia), you can get a much higher quality, more reliable m42 film body for $15.

Cameras are pretty much non repairable, unless you're looking to spend hundreds.
>>
>>3068713
Don't listen to these faggots. Maybe it's just some dust or old lubricant that's preventing shutter from functioning properly. Maybe something is just stuck and needs somebody to push it a little. If you have time, tools and some basic repair skills you can try to fix it and if you fail then who cares it's just zenit anyway. Also keep the lens you can use it on other bodies with proper adapter.
