Need help with my university project, I'm not doing a photography course or have any interest in photography so don't judge.
I need to take a journey around some are like a city, and take a series of photographs that together tell some kind of narrative and the catch is that every single photo needs to include type or typographic forms and at best envoke an emotional response from the reader.
I looked at photographs of Shirley Baker as they contain a lot of type that can be found throughout a city but I just can't think of any narrative the photos could tell.
I would really appreciate any help I can get here because I am completely clueless as to what I could do. If you give me some ideas I could share some of my photos here to see how I did.

So you want to create a narrative project which take sometimes years of practice to acheive, but you have no interest in photography? Good luck
>>3061543
I dont really have much choice, my entire group was given this project and we need to do it whether we like it or not

Step 1--change your attitude
Step 2--be an artist
Step 3--do the project
This is the best picture taken with a Sony in the last 12 months

A lot of it is photojournalism. Are you salty it's not pictures of dumpsters taken with a Leica M9?
I like it, seems like an interesting series

Went to a convention in Seattle to take some snapshits and to make appointments with a couple of well-known cosplayers. I came back with an ass load of photos and am now wondering what my best options for websites to begin an online portfolio would be. Any input or critique is appreciated.

Do you have Parkinson's disease?
The image is not sharp at all.
Also were is the EXIF?

I downloaded it from my Facebook, I'm not at the computer at the moment otherwise I'd make sure the EXIF is there.
Is the GR still the best digital point and shoot?
It never was the best point and shoot.
>>3052151
Then why does /p/ worship it so much?
>>3052156
Because /p/ is full of pentacks fanboys and contrarians. It's not a bad camera by any means though but there are better alternatives.
Anyone else suddenly have your Adobe programs start taking a massive shit on you after the latest Windows update?

From where should I start if I would like to learn how to decently make post processing?
There seems to be a lot of tutorials around, but they're always too vague and not really noob-friendly, they don't really teach you a correct workflow to start from.
I have also started studying colour theory and stuff like this, and I don't think I would pay for a PP trainining.
Also please tell me what do you think of this photo. I'm not quite sure overall about it, but I'm still learning.
• get • photoshop • nigga •
>>3065158
I already have Photoshop, but I'm not into watching several hours of tutorials, I'd like to find a pdf or something like that could teach me how to approach color balancing and shit like this.

Photography isn't for you, you lazy fuck.
I am stuck between two different compositions and i think the second one is a lot better but i would love to hear your opinion and criticism.
Also general feedback on photo

All event photographers must know the struggle of being stuck in a crowd, behind barriers, behind a TV crew and just being stuck for space doing portraits of a crowd.
My idea (I've probably seen it before and forgot) was using a monopod to hold up your camera and shoot over people's heads, or getting a different angle for portraits, or other shit that happens.
Being a manlet under 6 foot I struggle getting decent angles and shooting events without holding the camera up with my hand and tring to shoot, but with a telephoto or heavy lens I'm a wee bit fucked.
So how would it be possible to shoot with a monopod? I have a Canon 700D with the flip screen which could be angled down, but focusing and triggering it could be a struggle. That and the anxiety of dropping it (either on the floor or on someone's head).
Thanks in advance.
>>3061717
Why would event photographers be in the crowd?
>>3061717
It's called a "selfie stick"
And they are banned at most large events.

If it's a protest, demonstration or anything that isn't organised brilliantly they will be
I want to start charging people for photography work but I'm worried my photos would leave people disappointing and then I'd have to deal with them giving me shit. Advice?

Hey there, noob here and was hoping somebody could help me out with picking up a new lens. I have a canon T6I and tend to go out a lot at night to do some urban photography. I'm using the 18-55mm kit lens and was told to go maybe with a 40mm or 50 prime lens. I definitely feel like I need to get me a prime lens but what else would you suggest for a beginner. I have a pretty good budget(1000$).Thanks! Also thoughts on the t6i?

Honestly, sell the T6i and get a Fuji x100f.
You'll get a better sensor, lightweight body that is good for shooting in the city, and focal length great for urban shots. There are also adapters to give you wider or more telephoto shots.
>>3064654
>Fuji x100f
Fujitard pls go. Nobody wants your gimped camera with gimped lens and gimped sensor.
Hello /p/, I've noticed some discussion of the Sigma Foveon sensors and comparisons between them and bayer or xtrans, but no one seems to own one. I just got a DP2 Merrill in from Japan and wanted to share some test shots for you to check out.
These are just a few test shots that I took in five minutes and aren't intended to be good. The autofocus is dogshit and so is manual focus, but image quality is amazing.
If you could pixel peep the raws you would be pretty blown away, zero CA and zero moire.
I will try to shoot some more tomorrow. I should also mention these are the photos straight out of the camera. There's no sharpening or whatever going on here and zero noise reduction. The sensor on this camera is amazing.
