Holy fucking shit gran turismo 4 feels dated as fuck. No matter how much i wanted to enjoy replaying it i cant stop feeling as if its outdated as fuck
>inb4 /ovg/
Also, am i the only one who bobs his head or body to one side when playing racing videogames during turns because i am autistic or is it a common thing?

>Holy fucking shit gran turismo 4 feels dated as fuck. No matter how much i wanted to enjoy replaying it i cant stop feeling as if its outdated as fuck
I tried to play many of my old favorite racing games and the car models are an eye-sore and i just can't go back after the highly detailed HD renders of cars in modern games. Its also why i hate Gran Turismo now because they can't update the car models because Polyphony Digital doesn't want to outsource their fucking car models and don't even get me started on the Sound. i imagine all this stuff will continue even on the PS4 which is unacceptable.
>am i the only one who bobs his head or body to one side when playing racing videogames during turns because i am autistic or is it a common thing?
I only do that during very hard and intense races. I use to do it quite a bit on Forza Horizon because the difficulty on "insane" mode felt like the AI was defying physics and no matter how hard i took the corners they would somehow take them even harder. even if they were using a heavier car.
I've kinda lost hope for Gran Turismo altogether though it seems they will never change. Maybe we have to wait for Gran Turismo 8 or 9 for a big breakthrough in sound and updated car models. i doubt 7 will feel as huge of a leap 3 did.
>>15846441
I points drift in forza 6. Top 25 in the world on rivals. I tilt my head to either side going around corners, depending on the direction of the corner.
>>15846507
Jesus fuck thanks. I suspected that the thing i did was a serious mental issue or hardcore autism.
I dont mind the graphics from GT4. Its the "other details" you know?
Not being able to repaint your car
Not being able to rebuild your engine if its too old, and having to just change oil each 3 races to keep high power
No interiors nor interior camera modes at all
Sometimes the AI is just shitty
Being a TDU1 fan, being so dissapointed with TDU2, and loving customizing street cars, forza horizon would be my ideal game, or at least forza horizon with the amount of cars and car phsyics from Forza Motorsports. That being said, i do not own any kind of xbox console, and i dont want to install windows 10 to get horizon 3 since i think it might be worse than the first 2 games and i dont think my PC can run it.
I really wish Street Tuner Evolution wasn't canned.
Anyone else ever buy a car and enjoyed it at first, but slowly realized it was shit?
i had buyers remorse when i started coming here and found out how fucking shitty it is
now i cant fucking leave
>>15843945
I bought a car I never really liked to begin with (Civic), but I needed a daily and I got it for cheap, so I can't really complain. I don't drive it as much now, but I'll probably keep it around as a winter car. It's been dead reliable, so I'll give it credit for that.

Pic related.
yeah my 05 GTO, it was cool at first and i was going to mod it and then i was like.....oh..no thank you
Enough with all the miatas, twingos and exotic sports cars.
Be it a dusty dirt devil or a luxurious highway queen, lets see what ya got.
Pic related, mine.
>>15842971
Is that thing actually capable offroad? I always heard the X3 and X5 are fucking terrible off the highway so I assumed other German luxury soccer mom SUVs were the same. But I could be wrong since Mercedes does actually make some good off roadin trucks.
And what about the Audi Q5/7?
Todays vehicle, not very often I get to drive one. Fun little vehicle, just wish it did more than 25mph
>>15842992
dont know about mercedes but audis fucking suck at anything even on the road they are not that good.
Why are timberlands the best driving shoes
Are you fucking high?
>>15840920
Idk but they made good riding boots.
Because they aren't.
You mistyped Converse All Stars
FUCK /o/, is there really not a compact-midsize modern SUV capable of actual offroading in the US? Must I really resort to small trucks or fucking 92 4runners without even a CD player? This search is getting depressing...

>2016
>not bumping cassettes like it's the early 90's
The fuck you want to do that pic related can't accomplish
i dont think you understand how offroading works, son
Don't know if you guys have these here, and I didn't see anything like it in the catalog
I have an old '88 toyota hilux manual 4-speed with 271,000 miles on it. Runs fucking great, no problems at all besides that the A/C doesn't work.
Now this is probably my inner retard and inbred talking here, but I want to swap the engine for something powerful. I was thinking of just dropping a V6 of some kind into it, but someone suggested I should put an LS1 into it and make that fucker fly.
Problem is I have absolutely no mechanical experience with cars and mostly work on guns and other shit. How difficult would it be to do this myself in my garage and what tools would I need? I know the hilux is pretty mechanically simple and a lot of you are going to shit on me for wanting to fuck with a perfectly good truck but I think the idea of some old piece of shit with a v8 in it is my perfect brand of retardation.
LS motors are overrated. You can change a 307 to fuel injected and keep it simple and push way more power. Plus they're eaiser to find. LS engines are terrible and overhyped.
4.3 Vortec goes in real nice, lots of aftermarket and community support for these swaps.
Okay lads, I'm confused. How much does horsepower effect speed?
My Dad owns a 2009 Corvette zo6 with a custom chip and a supercharger kit pushing 780ish horses.
He recently raced a Mazda RX-7 that was riced out pushing 1000+ horses for a grand.
He won by a good bit. But shouldn't he have lost?
What does /o/ think of the modern ratrod look?
stupid
Fucking retarded.
>>15848137
That's the dumbest shit I've seen all day.
Would you guys recommend getting a stick shift for a daily driving 35+ miles everyday? Or would i be better off with an automatic?
just get the manual
>>15844986
>"dude it is SO hard to press the clutch over and over again in traffic! Last time I drove to downtown LA I pulled hammy!"
bitch
>>15844981
I have a 40mile one way commute, none of my vehicles are automatic.
>>15844981
Yeah because personally traffic doesn't bother me.
I have to commute into Los Angeles 5 days a week 52 miles round trip. Half of the time in rush hour traffic.
I still choose to drive stick though just because I enjoy doing so.

Why are these threads so empty lately? They used to be full a few days ago.
ITT cars that you find spooky
I always considered old chargers spoopy in some way. I cant put my finger on exactly why, they just look so creepy to me, especially black and looking unloved. What about yours ? What cars do you find creepy ?
Imagine if it had a skeleton in it
Probably becuase its a chrysler product.
thoughts on getting an rx8 with a blown rotary and swapping in something that isn't rotary?
suggestions for swaps?
they're pretty cheap so i thought i could give one a try
current car is a 95 civic which i'm going to keep till the rx8 is fully functional
i could get a mustang or something but i really like how the rx8 looks
it just looks SO happy it's not even funny
There are infinitely better ways to spend your money.

Might as well be the sub title of the whole board
>tfw you can explain most aspects of auto engineering to people and teach them how cars work
>tfw you think you're a pretty smart guy
>tfw you watch a video like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2_eTLCz_3I
>tfw you can't even begin to wrap your head around how they came up with such a system much less figured out all the angles and the metallurgy and the sizing and the electrical stuff and everything else
>tfw you realize you're over maybe above average intelligence at best
video is about the development of mercedes split turbo for f1. pretty crazy shit if you're into engineering
I don't see where the smaller "fan" screw goes, but otherwise, doesn't seem to crazy. Electrical motor driving the turbo shaft in addition to regular airflow?
Am I missing something?
Doesnt seem too crazy bro, they just split the turbo up with a shaft and put a generator on it.
>>15843690
>to
Too, that is.
Those here who have driven cars RHD and LHD, which would you say feels more objectively correct?
>>15843257
retarded thread, but ill answer you honestly:
it depends on what side of the road you drive. right hand drive for left side driving and vice versa.
My left hand is useless for fine motor skills, so it's much better used for a resistant, controllable movement set in one place. So I don't think I could shift well with my left, but it's also a matter of getting used to it.
>>15843257
What side of the road you drive on aside, RHD is better.
At least in my experience (being right handed), having my dominant hand on the steering wheel at all times is not only more comfortable, but safer.
Any harley riders? Here is mine.
I love my Harley
i ride an xl883 with a fat front tire conversion. love the looks, perfect rider's triangle, good gas mileage, and reliable enough that i wouldn't be afraid to drive it to alaska tomorrow. had a big electraglide, but that totalled in a hit and run. the sportster is a much better city bike though.
i wish the harley culture wasn't such a meme though. i got nothing wrong with a guy that has a few h-d t-shirts, or wants to put a chrome knick knack on his bike because he likes it. but i can't stand the guys that straight pipe their bikes and then runs stop light drags at every intersection in town, that looks down on other bikers (i get looked down on for riding a girls bike), and is an asshole in general to anyone that didn't spend as much money from the h-d accessories catalog to make his bike "unique."
is that a softail slim? looks good though.
